Snoop Dogg Announces National Australian Tour 2022

Almost two years since the bright lights of Australia’s arenas were switched off as the pandemic struck, Entertainment Icon, Hip-Hop legend and one of the world's most recognised artists Snoop Dogg has officially unveiled plans for a run of major, indoor arena shows around the country in 2022.

Snoop Dogg, who hasn’t performed in Australia since 2014 when he headlined the Big Day Out, will return to Australian shores in October 2022 for his ‘I WANNA THANK ME’ tour, which will see the West Coast rap legend celebrate the release of his 17th album ‘I Wanna Thank Me’, and documentary of the same name, released in 2019.

The tour kicks off at Perth’s RAC Arena in Perth on 26 October 2022 and then heads to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on 28 October 2022, Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on 29 October before wrapping up at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on 1 November 2022.

Pre-sale tickets will be available via Telstra Plus™ from Friday 10 September, 12noon (local time). General Public tickets go on sale from Monday 13 September, 4pm (local time) at Ticketek.

While the ‘I Wanna Thank Me’ documentary celebrates 25 years of Snoop Dogg – a career that has seen the Doggfather cement his undisputed influence on music with chart-topping, multi-platinum records, while also solidifying his importance as a cultural icon, actor and businessman – the upcoming Australian tour will be all about the music!

The tour also marks an important milestone for the newly formed partnership between TEG MJR and Snoop Dogg; In March 2021, TEG MJR signed an exclusive deal with Snoop Dogg, covering all his international shows (excluding North America) for the next 5 years.

Hailed by Rolling Stone as ‘America’s Most Lovable Pimp; a hip-hop star that has survived gangsta rap, charmed Hollywood and won over soccer moms – a hip-hop family man who’s evolved from consummate thug to ultimate mack’, Snoop Dogg remains one of the most important figures in music, almost three decades into his career.

He’s roasted Donald Trump on national television, baked brownies with Martha Stewart and collaborated with a list of celebrities that includes (but isn’t limited to) 2Pac, Pharrell Williams, Dr Dre, Eminem, Warren G, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and more.

Despite immediately turning heads with his appearance on Dr. Dre’s iconic album The Chronic in 1992, few could have predicted the meteoric rise of the California local; 17 studio albums, 17 Grammy nominations and tens of millions of record sales, plus appearances in acclaimed movies and TV shows and his own burgeoning cannabis business.

From playing piano at his local baptist church in Long Beach, to becoming one of the world's most recognised, revered and respected artists….and he’s not even close to retiring. Get ready for Snoop Dogg Australia!

“We are excited to finally get back to Australia and we appreciate all the fans that have held onto their tickets while we’ve worked on rescheduling these show,”

I Prevail

Pennsylvania goth-metal outfit Motionless In White are set to play all dates of the tour as its main support, playing material from 2019’s ‘Disguise’ – their fifth studio album, and major-label debut – for the first time on Australian stages.

Rounding out the lineup will be Melbourne-via-Wagga Wagga metalcore band Windwaker, who announced their as-yet-undated debut album, ‘Love Language’, last December.

I Prevail released their second studio album, ‘Trauma’, in March of 2019 via Fearless. They launched it at that year’s edition of the Download Festival in Australia, later picking up two Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance and Best Rock Album.

My Chemical Romance Australia Tour Annouced for 2022

My Chemical Romance (aka MCR/My Chem) have today announced an Australian arena tour for 2022, the band’s first Australian shows since their appearance at Big Day Out festival in 2012. MCR will perform their highly anticipated shows at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Monday, March 14, followed by concerts at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on Thursday, March 17 and Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on Saturday, March 19.

Tickets for all shows go on sale at 12pm Thursday, May 27.

Formed in NJ, My Chemical Romance made their debut in 2002 with the independently released album “I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love”. The band signed to Reprise Records the following year and made its major-label debut with 2004’s “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge”, now 3x certified Platinum. The album contained the Platinum hit ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise),’ the Gold-certified ‘Helena,’ and ‘The Ghost of You.’ Rolling Stone hailed the 3x Platinum “The Black Parade” as one of the top albums of 2006. Lead single ‘Welcome to the Black Parade’ topped both Billboard’s Alternative Songs tally and the UK Official Singles chart and is now 3x Platinum. The band toured extensively behind the album – appearing as characters from “The Black Parade” – and released the live album “The Black Parade is Dead!” in 2008. “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys” was released in 2010 and topped Billboard’s Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. It was followed by a series of singles later released as “Conventional Weapons” in 2013.

Selling out stadiums across the globe and providing the soundtrack of a generation, Live Nation is beyond excited to welcome My Chemical Romance back to Australia!

“It’s with this landmark concert that MCR ceases to be a nostalgic act, and proves its mettle as a timeless, rock & roll band for the ages.” Rolling Stone

As the crowd slowly left the venue, some fans had streaks of tears lining their faces — a fitting finale for a group that had been away for far too long.” Variety
