Slash Ft Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators Announce New Album ‘4’ To Be Released February 11, 2022

A decade and four albums into their career, Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators haven’t been deterred by any obstacles in their path–including a global pandemic. Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators have announced today they’ll release their new album titled 4 on February 11, 2022, via Gibson Records, in partnership with Sony Music Australia. 4 is Slash's fifth solo album, and fourth overall with his band featuring Myles Kennedy (Vocals), Brent Fitz (Drums), Todd Kerns (Bass & Vocals) and Frank Sidoris (Guitar & Vocals).

PRE-ORDER 4 HERE

A vibrant rock album fueled by memorable guitar hooks and compelling melodies, big choruses, and even bigger riffs; 4 builds on the legacy of Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators’ prior work. That sensibility comes through immediately on the opening track and the first single, The River Is Rising. The group has unleashed The River Is Rising.

Slash describes the creation of the song The River Is RisingThere’s two or three songs on the record that were written during the pandemic; everything else was written before. ‘The River is Rising’ was one of the last songs I wrote before we started pre-production, and because it was so fresh and has a certain groove and energy to it, it was the first thing we really attacked. It’s the newest song on the record, and as for the double-time part, that was something that I came up with and tagged onto the end of the arrangement. Then when we were over at RCA, Dave Cobb suggested we do it right after the breakdown. So, we went straight into the fast part and I just started doing the guitar solo over it. It was one of those things where we were jamming around, trying to fish out the arrangement, and it just happened.” While Myles Kennedy adds, “The lyric ultimately explores how humans can be brainwashed or indoctrinated by some sort of dangerous idea. Once we shot the demo back and forth a few times I personally felt confident that we had the album opener. To me, it’s an important track.”

For 4, Slash and the band traveled across the country together to Nashville, TN and recorded the new album at the historic RCA Studio A with producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, John Prine, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile), revealing a stunning new sound and style all captured live in the studio. Cobb shared the band’s desire to lay down the tracks live in the studio including guitar solos and vocals–a first for the group. The band’s previous albums over the last decade Apocalyptic Love (#2 ARIA Album Chart Debut), World on Fire (#2 ARIA Album Chart Debut) and Living The Dream (#4 ARIA Album Chart Debut) have continued on an upward trajectory all achieving Top 5 ARIA and Billboard charting debuts and reaching the Top 10 on 12 major charts across the globe. To date, the three SMKC albums have now garnered 10 consecutive Top 5 Radio singles, spawned sold out world tours, and have earned SLASH and the band the best critical acclaim of their career with their latest album Living The Dream (2018) singled out by the Los Angeles Times, Classic Rock, Guitar World, Loudwire, LA Weekly and more, as their best songs to date.

The band has launched a DSP and physical pre-order in the following formats for 4 including: a Deluxe Vinyl Box Set featuring a vinyl gatefold jacket in four colours (Black, Red, Blue, and Purple), randomly distributed inside a mirrored O-card. Each vinyl is 140g black vinyl and comes with a guitar pick, an Axe Heaven Custom Limited Edition 4 Slash Les Paul Mini-Guitar, CD softpack in one of the four colours above (also random) the O-card and a  guitar pick, a Cassette Tape featuring an exclusive 4-song live rehearsal titled Live Rehearsal Tape 5/28/21, a 36-page photobook including an SMKC interview and handwritten lyrics, an embroidered sew-on patch, a Signed Lithograph and a pick tin with 4 custom Slash guitar picks. A Deluxe CD Box Set, a full album Cassette Tape and Standard Vinyl and CD packages are also available. To view the full variety of 4 album packages available, go to: http://www.slashonline.com.

Pre-Order 4 from JB HiFi and enter the competition for your chance to win a Slash signature edition Les Paul Epiphone Guitar, signed by Slash.

The new album 4 has the added history-making distinction of being the first-ever album to be released on the new Gibson Records label which is headquartered in the iconic American instrument brand Gibson’s hometown of Music City, Nashville, TN. In light of the 30-year partnership between Gibson and the GRAMMY Award-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Slash, it makes sense the new Slash Ft Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators' album 4 will be released via Gibson Records–in partnership with Sony Music Australia.

In another groundbreaking move, Gibson will commemorate Slash Ft Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators' first studio album with Gibson Records, with a first-ever limited–edition Slash Les Paul Standard 4 Album Edition guitar package that will be released on February 11, 2022, the same day as the album release. Only 250 Slash Les Paul Standard 4 Album Edition guitars will be made available for global release on www.gibson.com and at select authorized Gibson dealers, and the unique guitar package also features the new SMKC album 4 on vinyl with an exclusive case inside that houses the vinyl, a 4 album guitar pick tin containing a variety of pick colours (8 count), a signed SMKC band portrait, and a 4 album decal sticker.

[Gallery] Victoria Kirby @ The Last Chance Rock N Roll Bar, Melbourne 09/05/2021

What better way to spend your Mother’s Day than getting along to The Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar for an afternoon of live music.  With the bustle of the iconic Victoria Market just across the road it is a busy part of Melbourne and an even better place to park your butt and take in some tunes. There was plenty on offer and Victoria Kirby brought along a few friends to entertain the crowd that turned out.

Alien was their first song of the day, which started with whoops of delight from the lively audience.  Victoria had a very sunny disposition radiating a warm vibe across the set as she sang Salty and Angry Girl. Guitar duties fell on Kodey Pfieffer who played up a storm accompanying Victoria who also happily strummed away as she sang. Clearly loving every minute, Kynan Arden found his groove on the bass and made certain that his tone down low was the perfect accompaniment to the songs.

Nelson Otten was behind the kit and kept the band running like clockwork, as they played Red Flags, Wandering and Dinosaur. The soulful tunes and Victoria’s lovely voice had everyone vibing, with heads nodding and punters swaying in their seats. A beautiful way to see out a Sunday afternoon, taking in some live music and sharing a drink or two. It was about now that guest vocalist Genevieve Henninger joined the band for a stripped back cover of The Police megahit Roxanne.  The additional vocals added another level to the song, and I loved their take on this rock classic.

Finishing out the set with Hearsay the bar was full of smiles as everyone enjoyed all that was on offer from these fine young musicians, a terrific afternoon of laid-back tunes that kept the feel good vibes flowing nearly as quick as the beer! If you are out and about and see Victoria Kirby and her crew please take the time to check them out, I am sure you will be very pleasantly surprised.

We have another top line-up of homegrown Aussie talent to bring to Hobart & Fremantle and can’t wait to see music fans out again making sensational summer memories with their mates.”

Today’s announcement coincides with the release of two short films released today that give a behind the scenes look from Australia’s promoters, artists, production crew, ticketing agents, and all those involved in getting live events back on the road across the country amidst lockdowns and imposed restrictions on mass gatherings. The films were commissioned and supported by Ticketmaster. The first film titled Radical Hope follows SummerSalt promoter John Zaccaria as he staged the first national tours in early 2021, SummerSalt and By The C, following the nationwide lockdown. The film stars an array of Australian music stars, including Missy Higgins, John Butler, and Felix Riebl (The Cat Empire), and industry legends Icehouse tour manager Larry Ponting, President, Live Nation Asia Pacific Roger Field, Ticketmaster Head of Strategic Partnerships, Rob D’Orazio and Event Health Management, Managing Director Hugh Singe.

The second film titled Back To Live takes a broader look at the industry, focusing on the importance of touring for artists, the need of community for fans, and a look to the future of our industry. In this film, artists and performers include Missy Higgins, John Butler, Tim Rogers (You Am I), Emily Wurramara, and British comedian Russell Howard.

RADICAL HOPE FILM

Missy Higgins is one of our most beloved singer/songwriters and her acclaimed studio albums, The Sound of White, On a Clear Night, The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle, Oz and Solastalgia have sold more than two million copies. Classic songs like “Scar”, “The Special Two”, “Steer”, “Everyone’s Waiting” and “Futon Couch”, plus her unforgettable live shows, have made Missy an authentic household name.

She has won nine ARIA awards and multiple APRA Awards. Missy received a Screen Music Award for Best Original Song composed for the Screen for Australian Film “Don’t Tell” and contributed songs for powerful ABCTV drama “Total Control”. She began 2020 by releasing single ‘Carry You’ written by Tim Minchin for his TV show ‘Upright’ and capped off the year with the release of “When The Machine Starts” a song focussing on positives that might be drawn from the year’s lockdown experiences. The stories Missy shares through songwriting come to life on stage as enjoyed by thousands of fans at her summer shows.

Xavier Rudd’s relentless upward arc is among the most astounding success stories of our time. Over 20 years of touring has seen his global fan base swell to perform sell-out concerts in Japan, throughout Europe, Canada, the USA, including his infamous sold-out Red Rocks Amphitheatre in 2018.

Countless more celebrated acts have come and gone like fireworks as his campfire steadily grows: a beacon to the kind of music fan that seeks sustenance in a fast-food world.

Birds of Tokyo formed in Perth in 2004 and have grown from independent roots to become one of Australia’s most popular contemporary rock bands. Songs like “Plans”, “Lanterns”, “This Fire”, “Anchor” and “I’d Go With You Anywhere” have all been top 10 airplay hits and have led to appearances at every major festival in this country including Falls, Splendour In The Grass and Groovin’ The Moo, as well as headlining slots at the AFL Grand Final and NRL’s flagship State of Origin game.

Subsequent records have helped the band carve a singular career for more than a decade, including 2012’s March Fires, which debuted at #1 on the ARIA Album Chart and produced triple-platinum radio hit “Lanterns”, gold-certified EP Anchor (2015) and 2016’s top #3-peaking album BRACE.

More than 70 Birds of Tokyo songs have featured on Triple J, making them one of the station’s three most played artists of this millennium. The band are also the only artist in history to win “Rock Work of the Year” on five separate occasions at the prestigious APRA Awards.

Multi-platinum selling Pete Murray has released 7 albums over an impressive career and is one of only a few Australian artists with over 1 million album sales under his belt. He has received 17 ARIA nominations throughout his career. Pete’s first three albums all reached #1 on the Australian music charts and his first album FEELER reached number 1 and remained in the Top 100 for two and a half years.

Pete Murray’s music is part of the Australian soundtrack with his tracks well-known and loved around the country. Pete won an APRA Award for ‘Most Performed Australian Work for his single ‘So Beautiful’. Single ‘Better Days’ has been nominated for ‘Song of the Year’ at the APRA Awards, while ‘Opportunity’ has received a nomination for ‘Most Performed Australian Work’.

Pete Murray is back with brand new music in the shape of ‘Hold Me Steady’ and he wishes people take from this song a happy memory or time in their life – as well as for it to make them not be able to resist wanting to sing it very loud every time they hear it!

A trip that began in a van in 1992, playing gigs anywhere in Australia that would have them, has led The Waifs to multiple ARIA Awards, platinum albums and successful tours across the world. With a career spanning more than 25 years off the back of relentless touring and ground-breaking records such as Up All Night and A Brief History, the hard yards in those early days paid off in terms of their career, but also bound them together as friends.

The original road warriors, The Waifs have built a career out of continually circling Australia and the globe. From bustling cities to the farthest regional and coastal towns, they have spent the past 25 years, reuniting with old friends, and gathering new fans, thanks to their enchanting live shows and affable natures.

Australian Indie-Folk duo, The Dreggs, were formed in 2017, and are made up of Paddy Macrae and Zane Harris. Equipped with two acoustic guitars and a stomp, the Dreggs are masters at keeping it simple, uncomplicated and a hell of a lot of fun.

With the release of their popular single, ‘Give Myself to You’ (2017), they received a significantly positive response, with airtime on Triple J’s ‘Roots & All’ and along with playing countless shows throughout SE Qld, helped them to develop a strong fan base, and let the world know that the Dreggs were here to stay. They continued to power through 2018 with the release of ‘Feel Alive’ and ‘Gold’, and then crashing through an epic 2019, releasing two singles ‘Just One Night’ and ‘You and Me’, and also making it to the line-up of a few major festivals and selling out shows on their National Tours.

At 19 years old, Tulliah, from Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, simply writes from a place of heartfelt experiences with melodies that seamlessly wash over you. One of those songs – ‘Company’, a piano-backed pop song written about toxic crushes and unreciprocated feelings – gave Tulliah the tag of an ‘act of Australia’s future’, placed upon her after becoming a finalist in 2019’s Triple J Unearthed High competition. Off the back of that one single (and after finishing her exams), Tulliah blossomed. She signed to touring agency Select Music and supported acts like Amy Shark and GRAACE on tours, played Melbourne festival shows with Ball Park Music and Thelma Plum, and saw the world desperately ask for what’s next – something she was quietly working on, while still honing in on her skills and solidifying her craft.

Now, with a debut EP titled ‘Fre$h Hugs’ released March 2021, we’re able to go a little deeper into the musical mind of Tulliah and the potent bursts of indie-pop that come from one of Australia’s most exciting new names. The EP is a dizzying six tracks that simultaneously capture Tulliah’s brilliance in pop music as well as the heartfelt stories and emotions that give them their soothing edge: balancing intimacy and richness through swirling and incredibly powerful pop music.

Coterie, 4 brothers from Perth who grew up on their parents hand-me-down RNB mixtapes but fell in love with the electric sounds of Jimmy Hendrix guitars. They encompass an authenticity often lost in modern music. Their blend of indie rock meets pop is shared through records made in their lounge-room, telling stories via lyrics drawn from real life experiences with melodically rich vocals that bring a raw narrative heat to the songs, their live shows harness a lifetime of musical blood that evokes feeling, one that you can only get when 16 years of jamming simply speaks for itself.

Banjo Lucia is a passionate singer and songwriter steeped in a deep love for the craft and tradition. Her songs reveal a wisdom and sophisticated turn of phrase that belie her age, revealing an insight into the human condition that is at once heart breaking and uplifting. Her ability to turn mundane details into profound familiarity and transport the listener into the centre of her experience as if it was their own, is the mark of a truly gifted writer.

So, jump on board, folks and join us as SummerSalt sets to shine in all its glory again!

MINISTRY Releases Bold New Music Video For ‘Disinformation’

MINISTRY Releases Bold New Music Video For ‘Disinformation’ To Celebrate The Release Of New Record MORAL HYGIENE Out Now Via Nuclear Blast

15th Studio Album From Industrial Juggernauts Is Overwhelmingly Praised And Features Al Jourgensen’s Perspective On Societal Ills

In celebration of the release of brand-new album Moral Hygieneout now via Nuclear BlastMINISTRY releases the explosive new music video for the latest single, ‘Disinformation’ about the slippery slope we find ourselves in when consuming mass media without critical thinking.

Moral Hygiene is MINISTRY’s 15th studio album and features some of the project’s strongest and most inspired material to date. It features the creative masterwork of founder and creator Al Jourgensen who spent the pandemic pause in 2020 ruminating on the new world we as a society have found ourselves in – while pondering just what we are going to do about it.

Stream Moral Hygiene here: http://nblast.de/MinistryMoralHygiene

The 10 tracks are a follow-up to 2018’s lauded AmeriKKKant and put forth Jourgensen’s societal manifesto and plea for civilization to get back to a set of standards that lives up to and embraces our humanity.

Previous singles have included ‘Alert Level’ (sounding the alarm on the state society is in), ‘Good Trouble’ (a rallying cry to fight for human rights in homage to Civil Rights leader John Lewis) and ‘Search And Destroy’ (the unique take on The Stooges classic), the latter of which features guitar virtuoso Billy Morrison (Billy Idol/Royal Machines). Morrison is also heavily featured on a number of songs on the album. The record also includes a collaboration with Jello Biafra (Jourgensen’s cohort in side project LARD) on ‘Sabotage Is Sex’.

Moral Hygiene was recorded with engineer Michael Rozon (also behind the boards on AmeriKKKant) at Scheisse Dog Studio, Jourgensen’s self-built home studio and creative lab. As with all MINISTRY albums, all songs are written and performed by Al Jourgensen. Additional contributions come from Billy Morrison (Billy Idol, Royal Machines), Cesar Soto (Man The Mute), John Bechdel (Killing Joke, Fear Factory), Roy Mayorga (Stonesour, Soulfly, Nausea), Paul D’Amour (Tool, Feersum Ennjin), Arabian Prince (N.W.A.), Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys) and sitar player Flash.

Here is what media has had to say aboutMoral Hygiene:

MINISTRY’s new LP ‘Moral Hygiene’ is one of their best … ‘Moral Hygiene’ has quickly become one of my favorite records of 2021 … MINISTRY mastermind Al Jourgensen has come back to embrace some of the soundscapes found in the band’s earlier releases.”Metal Insider

“’Moral Hygiene’ is truly an album for its time. … It is fresh, relevant, and stacked with incisive socio-political commentary from one of extreme music’s veterans of discontented rage. … Exciting, angry, and unapologetic: exactly how we like our MINISTRY.”Hysteria Magazine

“Having bands like MINISTRY around is still pretty critical when it feels like the social contract is hanging together by a thread. … What Jourgensen has been able to do … is make each MINISTRY album a statement about the world we live in now and what we should do to make it better. The music is as abrasive and confrontational as ever.”Wall Of Sound

ABOUT MINISTRY

Born in 1981 in Chicago, MINISTRY has been the lifetime passion project of founder Al Jourgensen, considered to be the pioneer of industrial music. In its early days, MINISTRY was identifiable by its heavy synth-pop material in line with the new sounds and technology that were being developed in the ‘80s. MINISTRY’s output began with four 12” singles on Wax Trax! Records in 1981 before the first LP With Sympathyin 1983 via Arista Records. As time progressed however, so did MINISTRY, quickly developing a harsher, and more stylized sound that the band soon became infamous for on seminal albums Twitch (1986), “The Land of Rape and Honey”(1988), and The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste (1989). With the release of Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and The Way to Suck Eggs(1992), MINISTRY hit an all-time high in the mainstream musical realm and received its first Grammy nomination. In total, Ministry has been nominated for a Grammy award six times. Eight more albums would follow before an indefinite break in 2013, only to be unearthed again in 2018 with AmeriKKKant, continuing to reflect Jourgensen’s views on the frightening state of society and politics. Today, MINISTRY continues touring and recording with the brand-new 15th studio album Moral Hygieneto be released October 1st.

Country artist, Tania Murray, releases single & music video for debut track, Follow Me Down to the River

Follow Me Down to the River is the debut single from Australian country singer/songwriter, Tania Murray, out now and distributed through Social Family Records.

Written by Murray and produced, engineered and mixed by multi-award-winning producer, Matt Fell (LoveHZ studios), Follow Me Down to the River is a dark country/outlaw sound that takes you down to the muddy waterside, through a tale of seduction and devilish ways. Bursting out the gate with mean guitars and a stomping beat, Murray’s voice calls out to be answered by twanging banjos and ukuleles that bring cheer to the track.

The song features Murray on acoustic guitar, lead and backing vocals, Matt Fell on bass, guitars, banjo, ukulele, papoose, keyboards, and percussion, Miles Thomas on drums, Nardia Drayton on the bridge bv’s and was mastered by William Bowden at King Willy Sound.

The official music video, also out now, was shot and produced by Jesse Anderson of Klik Productions (and this season of The Block), and filmed at Myuna Bay and Toronto (Lake Macquarie), in early August, just prior to the region going into lockdown.

From recording the song at Love Hz through to filming the video clip, timing has been the charm for this outstanding debut single.

ABOUT TANIA MURRAY

Growing up on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Tania Murray was raised in an open and artistic environment by her mother Eva, a Polish refugee turned Author, and father Les Murray AM, the late SBS Sports Broadcaster, also a refugee from Hungary.

At 15 years of age Tania, who was born deaf in her right ear, won Channel 10’s New Faces (pretending she was older than she was in order to qualify for the contest). In year 11 aged 17, the singer who is often likened to the voice of Karen Carpenter, traded her high school bag for a suitcase, becoming a full time musician performing throughout the world on European and local cruise ships.

Upon return to Sydney, Tania started to gain a following for her performances in tribute shows, in particular her portrayal of American rock soul blues artist Janis Joplin, in venues like The Basement, The Vanguard, Camelot Lounge as well as the Twilight at Taronga series. Simultaneously, Tania travelled throughout NSW performing as a soloist armed with acoustic guitar and relocated to Lake Macquarie near Newcastle.

Tania’s initial song writing success came from her indie rock duo Little Pleasures who earned number one ranking spot on Triple J’s Unearthed weekly countdown with ballsy track, Everytime I Hear Rammstein.

When Tania lost her father in 2017, her desire to perform and write music went down in flames. Like many, the covid lockdown stirred the pot of creative juices and country songs were written to then be recorded at Love Hz Studios in Sydney with prolific country music producer Matt Fell, who really brought out Tania’s husky vocals. Superlove – Unveil New Single ‘Save Yourselves’ And Accompanying Music Video

Bristol’s Superlove has released another brand new single, ‘Save Yourselves’. Born at a time when the country was in turmoil with UK politics and social media proved itself once more to be an intense platform to be consumed within, singer Jacob felt he was being bombarded with too much information, too many opinions, not enough fact and it became a sea of confusion.

“This song was just trying to express some frustration in feeling so overwhelmed by everything we watch, read online and see on TV”, says Jacob. “Writing ‘Save Yourselves’ also had us thinking, what would we do if everything absolutely went to shit? I like to think we would both just go and sit in a forest, out the way of everything with a fire going and just laugh at what a state we got ourselves into. We’re honestly so excited this song is actually coming out as I remember listening to the demo over and over again thinking oh my god this song is so addictive to listen to haha, we hope people feel the same!”

Previous singles have seen support from Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Rock Sound (UK), AAA Backstage, HEAVY Mag, Music Feeds, Something You Said, Milky and Australian community radio.

Save Yourselves’ is available worldwide now, via Rude Records
