In Hearts Wake Bid Farewell To Bassist Kyle Erich, Announce His Final Tour For September & Share New Single/Video

IN HEARTS WAKE
BID FAREWELL TO BASSIST KYLE ERICH

ANNOUNCE HIS FINAL TOUR FOR SEPTEMBER

SHARE NEW SINGLE/VIDEO FAREWELL

After twelve years creating music beloved by a loyal fanbase across the world, today In Hearts Wake announce the departure of long-time bassist and vocalist, Kyle Erich.

In conjunction with today's news, In Hearts Wake have also announced that they will tour Australia with Erich for the last time this September, giving fans the opportunity to share in an important closing chapter for the band. And also alongside this announcement, In Hearts Wake deliver a brand new track, fittingly titled Farewell; a poignant cap put on Erich’s time with the band, laced with emotional tension and catharsis.

Though Erich’s departure signifies a dynamic shift for In Hearts Wake, their split has been amicable; both are anticipating bright futures as they continue on separate paths. After going through the motions of any break-up –– from sadness and heartbreak, through to acceptance –– In Hearts Wake and Erich are now ready to celebrate with the release of Farewell and their upcoming final run of headline shows together.

The process of creating Farewell doubled as a healthy way of processing Erich’s impending departure from the band; a moment for him to be involved in his exit in a way that perfectly put a pin in his time with his bandmates. It is this very reason Farewell has a spirit of closure to it, because this is exactly what it represents: a beautiful, monumental chapter coming to an close for Erich and In Hearts Wake alike.

As his melodies and vocals soar, the heartfelt weight of his final message is as much for the In Hearts Wake fans, as it is for his bandmates.

Hailing from Byron Bay and now one of the leading acts in the Australian heavy scene, In Hearts Wake first roared into view via their 2012 debut album Divination; a tarot-inspired release, praised for its memorable breakdowns, melodic hooks, taut execution and a sea of features. Remaining a fan-favourite to this day, Divination peaked at #27 on the ARIA Charts, setting the stage for a horde of headline shows, international tours, appearances at Soundwave Festival and beyond for In Hearts Wake.

Now in command of five hard-hitting albums, including 2014's Earthwalker, 2015's Skydancer, 2017's Ark and 2020's Kaliyuga, In Hearts Wake also fuse themes of social and environmental justice into their palpitating brand of metalcore, with multiple Top 5 ARIA debuts, millions of streams and fans across the globe.

Recently appearing at UNIFY Off The Record in 2023 and wowing audiences across Australia with their Decade Of Divination tour last year, In Hearts Wake are set to celebrate and farewell their journey to date with Erich this September with what is guaranteed to be a poignant and unforgettable run that spans Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

Ultimately, to honour Erich’s imprint on In Hearts Wake, clear and evident since the debut In Hearts Wake album, the seminal Divination, the only way the group could convey such a whirlwind of emotions was through a dose of new music that captured everything about the In Hearts Wake spirit: brutality, passion and catharsis.

In Hearts Wake has some news. Our bass player & clean vocalist Kyle Erich is leaving the band to focus on his family and other parts of his life. He will be touring with us one last time in September, and today we have released a new track and video called “Farewell” as part of his send off.

We adore Kyle and appreciate every contribution he’s made to our band and our lives. 12 years of laughs, gigs and singalongs. He's an amazing person and we will miss having him around as In Hearts Wake continues to forge ahead.

While we were saddened and heart broken by the news at first, we all knew that what was right for Kyle was right for us. We all support his decision and can't wait to celebrate him and bring closure to his journey with the band.

We will have more In Hearts Wake news in a couple of weeks, but for now lets celebrate our man Kyle Erich and all the amazing moments we've had together

Jake, Ben, Eaven & Conor

It's hard to put into words how impactful and fulfilling my journey with In Hearts Wake has been. I honestly feel so lucky to have been a part of In Hearts Wake and everything it has become over the years. The places we’ve been, the bands/people who have supported us and all the incredible moments that I’ll never forget. To be honest, I never really thought that music could bring so much joy to my life and I owe so much to my brothers in the band for seeing something in me that I didn’t even know I had.

The life of a touring musician is incredible and honestly I wouldn't change a thing about my last twelve years with In Hearts Wake. That being said, this life does require a lot of sacrifice and now as a father those choices are more complicated and much harder to make. Being in the industry for as long as I have, I know you need to give 100% to make it work and I’m at a point now where that’s not something I’m able to give. In my eyes that would be a disservice to the band and to all our fans who have supported us over the years.

Farewell will be my last song with the band and it was a very difficult song to write. Despite this being the right decision for me it’s been so hard to let go of something that’s been such a massive part of my life. The Australian tour this September will be my last tour as part of the band and although bitter sweet, its going to be a farewell tour to remember.

From the bottom of my heart I want to thank anyone who has come to a show, said hello to me in the street or played with us on stage. You have truly changed my life forever. Jake, Ben, Eaven, and Conor I love you guys and I can't wait to see where In Hearts Wake goes from here.

See you down the road!

Kyle Erich

Lenny Kravitz Is Back With High Energy New Single “Human” Forthcoming Album Blue Electric Light Out May 24

LENNY KRAVITZ
Is Back With High Energy New Single “Human”
Forthcoming Album Blue Electric Light Out May 24

Lenny Kravitz season is in full swing. Following a surge of viral activity, and his immortalization on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this month, the iconic artist and consummate creative returns with a brand new single entitled “Human.

Listen to the single here
https://lennykravitz.lnk.to/HumanPR

“Human” practically overflows with upbeat and undeniable energy catalyzed by Kravitz’s inimitable fusion of fiery rock ‘n’ roll, slick funk, and cosmic pop. Wild cowbell, loose riffing, and a head-nodding bass line can’t contain the track’s bold and boisterous spirit as his voice echoes on the chorus, “I came here to be alive. I am here to be human.Fittingly, a skyscraping guitar solo airlifts one last crescendo on this life-affirming anthem.

“Human” follows lead single “TK421,” released in October 2023. Ecstatic funk guitars, robotic analog synths, weezy talkbox, a dancefloor beat, a fiery saxophone solo and a clever nod to both Boogie Nights and Star Wars power up the fast-paced rock ‘n’ roll romp. The viral “TK421” video, which made its worldwide debut via YouTube and global broadcast premiere on MTV’s global network of channels, amplifies the song’s free spirit; Kravitz is seen like you’ve never seen him before.

Timeless. Explosive. Romantic. Inspiring.
How else to characterize Blue Electric Light, Lenny Kravitz’s 12th studio album? Kravitz wrote and recorded the project in his studio in the Bahamas, and his mastery of deep-soul rock ‘n’ roll is once again established here. As a relentless creative force—musician, writer, producer, actor, author, designer—he continues to be a global dynamic presence throughout music, art and culture. Blue Electric Light is an impassioned suite of songs, that broadens this distinction and is the latest contribution of a man whose music—not to mention his singular style—continues to inspire millions the world over.

On the album, Kravitz’s talents as a writer, producer and multi-instrumentalist resonate as he wrote and played most of the instruments himself, with longtime guitarist Craig Ross. Ultimately, he crafted 12 tracks that are reflective of his legacy as a genre-breaking trailblazer, yet also firmly entrenched in the energy of the 21st century and beyond.

This luminous world of Blue Electric Light will continue to unfold as Kravitz uncovers more from the album in the near future.
Stay tuned for more from Lenny Kravitz.

KORPIKLAANI New Album RANKARUMPU Is Out Now + Release Title Track Video

KORPIKLAANI New Album RANKARUMPU Is Out Now + Release Title Track Video

Finnish folk metal superstars KORPIKLAANI, the cultural ambassadors for Finland, are celebrating the release of their new studio album, Rankarumpu.

This marks the 12th full-length entry in their impressive discography. Alongside, a video for the album’s title track has been unveiled today and can be watched below! Meanwhile, KORPIKLAANI are getting ready to embark on an extensive North American tour which will kick off next week. Scroll to the bottom for all dates!

KORPIKLAANI‘s twelfth studio album is once again classic folk metal, fast, energetic and dynamic, showing once again they are leaders in this genre. One of the most wonderful features of Rankarumpu is related to the folk instruments. Although KORPIKLAANI has done one or maybe even a couple of unforgettable things in the realm of folk metal, this time new permanent member Olli Vänskä‘s (ex Turisas) violin and Sami Perttula‘s accordion may surprise even die-hard fans. Rankarumpu was again produced by Janne Saksa and recorded at his Sound Supreme Studio and Korpiklaani’s HQ, Miehola Studios.

Singer Jonne commented:
“Rankarumpu is our fastest album, which was easy and fun to make. However, in contrast to the fun, the war theme rears its head here and there on the album because the world situation is so completely absurd and twisted at the moment. Violinist Olli Vänskä joined this album as a new member, while Tuomas Rounakari focused on his solo production. Olli was Tuomas’s deputy many times over the years when he was busy, so he was the only right choice as a member. He participated in the arrangements but also composed for this album. The song and video for Rankarumpu perfectly sums up what this band represents at its best, which is having fun together with our audience. This will even make the purists get dancing!”

Make Them Suffer Share New Single ‘Epitaph’ & Down Under Tour Supporting Bring Me The Horizon Kicks Off This Week

A potent fusion of the past, present and future, Perth metalcore outfit Make Them Suffer return today armed with a glossy yet blistering new single, Epitaph out now via Greyscale Records and SharpTone Records.

Continuing the band’s ferocious new sonic chapter, Epitaph swells with a sharp interplay between sharp primal energy and glowing ambience, also accompanied today by a brand new music video.

Of their latest single, the band shares:
“Epitaph is the perfect grafting of new and old in terms of combining elements from our earlier sound with newer ones. Primal yet futuristic, Epitaph comes from a place of contemplation. The lyrics depict a post-doomsday setting and imagine how we as a species might be remembered by other forms of life.”

Following a long break away from music due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Make Them Suffer returned with a blazing bang in 2022, releasing the behemoth single Doomswitch, playing a sold out tour in North America supporting Bad Omens, and performing a completely sold out headline Australian run in support of their new material.

Releasing their first single via the dream team of Greyscale Records and SharpTone Recordsin 2023, the ravenous might of Ghost Of Me, Make Them Suffer toured North America last year as part of Parkway Drive‘s huge Monsters Of Oz Tour, alongside The Amity Affliction and Northlane, as well as ticking off shows closer to home performing 2012’s Neverbloom in full for the first time ever in Australia to resounding acclaim.

Now, Make Them Suffer continue their domination in 2024, embarking this week with an almost entirely sold out Australian run supporting Bring Me The Horizon alongside Sleep Token and Daine, before returning overseas for a run of European and UK festivals this June, including Download Festival, Copenhell, Jera On Air and many more.

“We’re about to settle in for the busiest year of touring in the history of Make Them Suffer and the energy in the band is at an all time high,” the band shares of their huge 2024 ahead. “I’m sure we’ll all be aching for more time at home by November, but for now, we can’t wait to get back on the road and play all these amazing tours and festivals we have lined up.”

“Epitaph is the beginning of a very exciting year for us, and not just in terms of touring. We’re so incredibly thankful for all our supporters, and to be in the position we’re in. Particularly after such an incredible journey. We can’t wait to show everyone what we have in store.

BLAZE OF PERDITION Polish Black Metal Outfit Releases “Przez Rany” Video/Single Upharsin Nears April 19th Rele ase On Metal Blade Records

“Przez Rany” is the harrowing new single from long-running outfit BLAZE OF PERDITION. Having existed at the forefront of the Polish black metal movement, the band returns in 2024 with their sixth full-length, Upharsin, set for release on April 19th via Metal Blade Records.

A step back from the somewhat unusual direction the band followed on their previous offering, — 2020’s The Harrowing Of HeartsBLAZE OF PERDITION’s Upharsin takes on a dark and pessimistic tone reflected by its appropriately oppressive music. Haunting and melancholic melodies rooted in traditional black metal meet unforgiving blastbeats and solemn marches, while emotional yet feral vocals aim to bring a proper sense of rage and disgust.

“With Upharsin, we aimed to open the wounds of humanity as a collective,” the band notes. “The album reflects on how humans tend to gravitate towards conflict and strife. How religions and politics as well as other aspects of our everyday life are tainted and driven by our lower instincts as we willingly refuse to learn from our own history, as we choose to ignore and neglect the shadow aspect of our psychic reality, which in turn takes us further and further in the everlasting cycle of violence. It’s probably the most realistic concept we’ve taken on, with noticeably less spiritual leanings and a much more grounded approach.”

Following lead single and album-opener, “W Kwiecie Rozłamu,” BLAZE OF PERDITION today delivers “Przez Rany” – English translation: Through The Wounds – for which vocalist S. comments, “… It’s not common for us to keep the songs in a similar mood for their entire duration, but this one is a rare exception. We aimed to create a march-like anthem with a certain ceremonial tone to it. We also included something rather uncommon here, namely a rhythmic, chanted chorus to underline some sort of a twisted sense of elation and rapture.

“Lyrically, the song is about how religions and ideologies nurture our complexes and prejudices and ultimately drive us into the depths of lesser instincts and self-importance; how by repressing the minds they also inspire repressed demons to take over by giving us a sense of self-righteousness and how it eventually becomes the final straw before the eruption.“

Progressive Death Metal Duo Unveils New Video/Single, “An End To Everything”

Progressive death metal duo ENTHEOS today unveils a new single, “An End To Everything,” and an accompanying video. The track serves as the band’s first new output since last year’s critically adored Time Will Take Us All full-length as well as a precursor to the music to come later this year.

Elaborates vocalist Chaney Crabb
“‘An End To Everything’ is lyrically about surrendering yourself or giving in to a sense of darkness and despair that you feel is beyond your own control. Musically, the first riff of the song came organically, and the rest of the song wrote itself after. We wanted the song to provoke a feeling of melancholy, with lyrics to match. It became a perfect combination of many of the styles of metal and rock that we aim to blend in our music.”

Incorporating elements drawn from myriad genres – including death metal, groove, grunge, electronica, slam, gothic rock, jazz, prog and more – and pushing progressive death metal in ever more imaginative directions, Time Will Take Us All proved that ENTHEOS continues to evolve with every release. Metal Hammer UK lauded a band, “poised to morph from a promising project into tech metal titans,” New Noise Magazine championed, “one of the best versions of modern riff–y progressive death metal we have now,” while Loudwire added, “the band plays with lockstep precision, turning the gears of their technical death metal machine as it steamrolls forward.”

Technical death metal troupe COGNITIVE is back with new album Abhorrence

Technical death metal troupe COGNITIVE is back with Abhorrence, set for release on May 17th on Metal Blade Records.

The band’s fifth full-length album and a tremendously worthy successor to 2021’s Malevolent Thoughts Of A Hastened Extinction, Abhorrence finds the New Jersey powerhouse quintet at its brutal best. Unrelenting riffs leave the listener stunned, while a wave of thoughtful, devastating lyrics washes over. The album is a raging, draining, and ultimately fulfilling experience.

COGNITIVE started work on Abhorrence while touring in support of Malevolent Thoughts Of A Hastened Extinction, sending tracks back and forth while trekking from one intense gig to the next. “There were riffs and ideas that didn’t make Malevolent Thoughts…,” notes guitarist Rob Wharton. “We just kept toiling away with it. And then we recorded the ‘Rot Eternal’ single in between touring. So, it’s been just nonstop writing.”

Drummer AJ Viana has his own studio (he’s previously worked with bands as prestigious as Hath) and recorded, tracked, and mixed the album, before Ryan Williams (The Black Dahlia Murder, John Frum) at Metal Blade Records mastered it. To the album’s immense benefit, it was a collaborative process and everyone brought their A game.

Abhorrence is an exercise in aural turbulence, each track taking its listener on a magnificently traumatic journey. “Our lyrics for this record are all over the place,” says Wharton. “There’s some stuff about video games and addiction and mental health. To me, that’s the kind of subject matter that hits home because everyone’s got stuff going on in their lives. It’s relatable.”

Relatable much like the album title itself. Peer at the state of the world in recent years and “abhorrence” seems like an entirely appropriate world. “We were going through all the song titles and wondering which is the strongest song,” Wharton says. “We decided to go with Abhorrence. Everyone’s so mean and cruel to each other and the world is terrible. We just felt like it kind of encompassed everything. We had put a lot of time into that one specifically because there are so many repeating parts, but it was mostly about depression, anxiety attacks and mental health.”

The title track also serves as the record’s opener and first single. Wharton elaborates, “‘Abhorrence’ is a groove-filled song with a melodic chorus. Heavily syncopated drums make every chug hit harder and harder. It’s a song filled with tension and aggressive vocal patterns screaming about anxiety, panic, and depression all at once.”
