Nothing More Announce New Album ‘Carnal’ Due June 28. First Track “House On Sand (Feat. Eric V Of I Prevai l)” Out Now

NOTHING MORE
Announce New Album ‘Carnal’ Due June 28 via Better Noise Music
Reveal Music Video For New Track “House On Sand (Feat. Eric V Of I Prevail)”

3X Grammy Award-nominated NOTHING MORE return with their fifth album, CARNAL,
on June 28 via BETER NOISE MUSC.

The album features 15 songs with the San Antonio, Texas born quartet’s most focused, adventurous, and intense music to date, including their current radio single “IF IT DOESN’T HURT”. Recorded with Grammy-nominated producer WZRD BLD (Disturbed, Motionless In White, A Day To Remember) with mixing and mastering by Zakk Cervini (Limp Bizkit, MGK, Bring Me The Horizon), CARNAL unites NOTHING MORE’s trademark introspective philosophical lyrics and unapologetically massive anthems with in-your-face rockers designed for an all-encompassing audience.

“‘CARNAL’ feels like a perfect encapsulation of what NOTHING MORE has always been,” says guitarist MARK VOLLELUNGA. “From progressive introspection to steady-state rock ‘n roll, we felt like we’ve achieved the exact balance wanted for this next installment.”

“It’s a beautiful blend of memorable guitar riffs, illustrious chord progressions and heart wrenching lyrical performances all to the beat of a drum that palpitates with syncopated obsession,” states bassist DANIEL OLIVER. “There’s truly something for everyone on this record.”

NOTHING MORE have today unveiled a music video for their new compelling and defiant track “HOUSE ON SAND” featuring I Prevail vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe.

“Sometimes you lose sight of your purpose in life and wander off of the path you were on,” says frontman JONNY HAWKINS on “HOUSE ON SAND”. “Years later you find yourself in a life that does not match the vision you once had for yourself. Trapped, you are left with a choice…betray your inner voice, or trust it; continue on and play it safe, or turn back and start again… I’m starting again.”

In regard to working with VANLERBERGHE, HAWKINS states: “I’m so honored and excited to have Eric screaming his heart out with me on this song!

“Almost a year ago, the boys in NOTHING MORE sent me this demo and asked if I’d consider hopping on it,” shares VANLERBERGHE. “I checked it out and for the next few weeks, I had the chorus engrained in my brain. The song really resonated with me. I think this track, as well as the rest of their record, is NOTHING MORE’S best work and I’m honored to be a part of it.”

Since their emergence in 2003, NOTHING MORE have continuously topped the active rock radio charts including nine #1 singles and over a half dozen Top 10 singles including “TIRED OF WINNING” from their 2022 album SPIRITS. To date, the band—Jonny Hawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass), and Ben Anderson (drums)—have amassed a total of 788 million streams and 150 million video views.

NOTHING MORE have won over audiences across the globe with their commanding performances of which Loudwire proclaimed: “it’s their famously vivacious live shows that truly enthrall, especially when they pull out some of bassist Daniel Oliver’s self-made gadgets. For instance, there’s the ‘Scorpion Tale,’ an extremely heavy beast made of metal scraps whose Ableton software permits singer Jonny Hawkins to alter multiple timbres (such as guitar, bass and vocals) while riding it. Then, you have the ‘Drumtron/Bassinator,’ a rotating bass stand connected to drums that allows for three-man bass solos.”

CARNAL Track Listing:
1. Carnal
2. House On Sand (Feat. Eric V Of I Prevail)
3. If It Doesn’t Hurt
4. Angel Song (Feat. David Draiman)

TROPHY EYES ANNOUNCE AUSTRALIAN HEADLINE TOUR 2024

TROPHY EYES
ANNOUNCE
AUSTRALIAN HEADLINE TOUR 2024

WITH SPECIAL GUESTS
BOSTON MANOR & TOWNS

Australia’s finest purveyors of melodic noise Trophy Eyes have had a busy year already. After the success of their ARIA Top 10 release “Suicide and Sunshine” in 2023, the band then headed on a capital city run promoting the album, selling out shows right around the country. This was followed up with a raucous regional Australian victory lap with their mates Dear Seattle, then finally the band managed to take one deep long breath.

I guess they knew what 2024 had in store for them. The band are currently half way through a sold out European tour, their first in the territory since early 2023 and one which is giving the Northern Hemisphere an overdue first taste of the album live. They then fly direct to the US for an extended run of headline shows, with the tour being a proper circumnavigation of the US starting in Brooklyn and ending in Baltimore 5 weeks later.

Trophy Eyes know they can’t let fans overseas have all the fun, so it’s with immense pleasure and more than a little excitement that they announce their only headline tour of Australia for 2024, a lightning run with a storming support bill of international guests and mates Boston Manor (UK), and with Adelaide’s Towns in the opening slot. Full tour details below.

Boston Manor recently released their new single ‘Container‘. It marks the first new music from the band in 2024 as they make their return in impassioned and ambitious mood. Full of thrust and intention, ‘Container’ is rich with depth and groove, offering an early signpost to where their sound is taking them next: from parallel universes to personal growth, vivid dreamscapes to raw grief.

Towns will continue to deliver their good-time vibes, having recently joined fellow Adelaideans Teenage Joans on a sold out co-headline tour, they also hit the road for their own headline shows and supporting Ruby Fields, playing to packed out venues and bringing the high octane energy they are known for.

Trophy Eyes and friends will see you in August.

Like Moths To Flames Share ‘Dissociative Being’ Visualizer & New Album ‘The Cycles Of Trying To Cope’ Arrives May 10

U.S. metalcore act Like Moths To Flames previously announced their new album The Cycles Of Trying To Cope. It arrives on May 10 via UNFD.

Now, the band has dropped the visualizer for Dissociative Being.

“Blood leaves a stain that’s often hard to remove, much like the scars that people leave when they’re destructive with their life,” the band says. “This song is about someone who’s destroyed everything they had left and being so parasitic with their life that it bleeds into the lives of others.” Each single that the band has released is related to a coping “cycle” and associated word. Dissociative Being is part of “Cycle Three: Disassociate.”

“When it breaks, what piece am I left with?,” ponders frontman Chris Roetter over the rousing, palms-to-the-sky outro of Kintsugi, an emotional thunderclap of a song that forms somewhat of a centrepiece to Like Moths To Flames’ career re-defining sixth album, The Cycles Of Trying To Cope. Whilst the anthemic track’s title pays homage to the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, for Roetter and his bandmates (guitarists Zach Pishney and Cody Cavanaugh, and drummer Roman Garcia), the notion of Kintsugi comes loaded with the profound human experience of seeking to find light in the dark, to birth good from bad — indeed, the cycles of trying to cope: “The record encapsulates the varying emotions we go through when trying to grow through life,” says Roetter. “Over the last few years, I’ve really tried to harness my emotions as a catalyst to get through whatever I was facing at the time. I think we all have our own unique ways to cope — these are mine. Just being able to write about this stuff and put it out into the world makes it feel like I’m not so alone.”

Segmented into four chapters, dubbed LIMBO, FRACTURE, DISSOCIATE, and MELANCHOLIA, The Cycles Of Trying To Cope album plays as an intense exploration of the Like Moths musical arsenal, straddling the ugly and the beautiful in equal measure, whilst Roetter’s raw introspection pierces the heart of every vicious breakdown or soaring chorus with cathartic power. Though not originally designed to be a concept album, Roetter’s reflections on these diverse, complimentary, and contrasting facets of the band’s latest opus revealed common threads which led the singer even deeper into his internal landscape; exploring the ways in which differing stages and aspects of the record were connected evoked in Roetter thoughts of the terraces in Dante’s Purgatory and the “cycles” were given shape.

“A big focal point for Moths has always been writing about things I’m actively going through,” Roetter details. “But when I realized that each song on the new album covers a unique approach I’ve had to a specific emotion, it felt like we needed something that could escort listeners through the record. It definitely helps it all feel cohesive and complete; Sometimes an album can just feel like a collection of songs, but I think this is more an experience to the band — I hope that people are able to find some solace in knowing someone else out there is dealing with these things too.”

Darkthrone Release “Black Dawn Affiliation” The Only Track To Be Released From, It Beckons Us All, Ahead Of Release on April 26.

DARKTHRONE Release “Black Dawn Affiliation” The Only Track To Be Released From It Beckons Us All, Ahead Of Release on April 26.

With the highly anticipated launch of the new album ‘It Beckons Us All’ from the Norwegian black metal pioneers just two weeks away, Darkthrone have offered fans a glimpse of what is to come with the release of the track “Black Dawn Affiliation”.

The single release is accompanied by an animation created by Matthew Vickerstaff .

Listen to it here https://orcd.co/darkthrone_bda_listen

“Nocturno Culto sculpted BLACK DAWN AFFILIATION and as much as I writhe in woe trying to describe riffs I did not make, we are certainly rocking hard and dark around a dungeon of slow Kreator 1986-era riffs (think Awakening Of The Gods or Take Their Lives from the FLAG OF HATE 12”). Fenriz

The song is linearly constructed, which is bold for a single but we often write this way. One could say it is a two-pronged beast which after the intermission (filled with a choir of the damned that we sung ourselves, believe it or not: “Aaaaaa.”) continues with my favourite riff in the song since I first heard it appear early in the second part and it is there that I was given the reins to let the halls and chambers of stardust levitate with unearthly synth and a voice that still today, when writing this, strikes me as being influenced by the first rock album I heard back in 1973 – Morrison Hotel. Lyrics darker and more disturbed than ever solidify these halls now.

“It is not easy to describe the music you make, but for sure I will try…it´s heavy! Everything worked out as I hoped for this track. Some things are just forged in the studio, like as Fenriz´s excellent vocals at the end of the song; and the choir I wanted. Instead of just taking shortcuts, Fenriz and I recorded three vocal tracks each, and it was brilliantly mixed by Silje at Chaka Khan. There are many things one can say about riffs, but I make songs from a combination of a very methodical approach and happy accidents! And somewhere in the back of my head, it´s most likely there is something affecting a lot of my decisions on little details that shapes the riffing.” Nocturno Culto

And now, we must await…we must count down the days until It Beckons Us All, Darkthrone’s new masterpiece, is unleashed in full.

It Beckons Us All was recorded in April and May 2023 at Chaka Khan Studios in Oslo, the same location used for the Eternal Hails and Astral Fortress albums, mastered by Jack Control at Enormous Door, with artwork courtesy of Polish artist Zbigniew Bielak.

It Beckons Us All tracklisting 1. Howling Primitive Colonies [06:30] 2. Eon 3 [05:43] 3. Black Dawn Affiliation [06:11] 4. And In That Moment I Knew The Answer [03:17] 5. The Bird People Of Nordland [07:27] 6. The Heavy Hand [04:18] 7. The Lone Pines Of The Lost Planet [10:03]

Anvil Announce New Album

ANVIL
Announce New Studio Album, ‘One And Only’
Present First Video Single “Feed Your Fantasy”!

Canadian metal legends ANVIL have announced their new studio album, ‘One And Only’, for a release on June 28, 2024 via powerhouse label AFM Records! A first video single, “Feed Your Fantasy”, has just been premiered and is now streaming below.

When it comes to the most influential bands in the history of heavy metal, authorities on the subject regularly vote ANVIL among the top positions. The group from Toronto, Canada, with its two masterminds, Steve ‘Lips’ Kudlow and Robb Reiner, and bassist Chris Robertson, not only looks back at an impressive career with countless highlights – as well as a number of well-documented difficulties – but has also had a lasting influence on lots of internationally renowned musicians, from Metallica to Slayer and beyond.

Their forthcoming, 20th album is aptly entitled ‘One And Only’: ANVIL are and will always be one of a kind and are continuing to shape the contemporary metal scene just as impressively as they did at the beginning of their career. How they achieve this? Thanks to their straightforward metal fuelled by cutting riffs and catchy hooks, which the musicians continue to celebrate with admirable effortlessness and great passion. “We’re more like our old selves than we’ve been in years,”comments frontman Lips Kudlow on the new album, adding: “We’ve dropped all our more modern aspects, particularly the 90s version of Anvil. No sexual topics and no thrash speed songs like they featured on past albums.”

Their first album single, “Feed Your Fantasy”, is out now on all digital streaming providers at
https://anvil.bfan.link/feed-your-fantasy

One And Only’ track listing:

01 – One And Only

02 – Feed Your Fantasy

03 – Fight For Your Rights

04 – Heartbroken

05 – Gold And Diamonds

06 – Dead Man Shoes

07 – Truth Is Dying

08 – Rocking The World

09 – Run Away

10 – World Of Fools

11 – Condemned Liberty

12 – Blind Rage

One And Only’ sees the band provide first-rate ANVIL entertainment: While Guitarist/vocalist Lips is considered to be one of the most creative and interesting storytellers of the metal genre, Chris Robertson and Robb Reiner keep the up the pace with their usual confidence, providing the perfect rhythm section for Lips. Although they have experienced the tough and frequently merciless side of the music industry on a number of occasions, ANVIL never lost their idealism, motivation and energy, which is immediately evident on ‘One And Only’.

Like its four predecessors, ‘One And Only’ was produced by Martin ‘Mattes’ Pfeiffer (U.D.O., among others) and Jörg Uken at his Soundlodge studio. As far as Lips is concerned, Pfeiffer and Uken are “… our one and only choice. As usual, Mattes and Jörg did a great job in choosing our best playing and making sure it has top notch sound. Great guys who understand the band and know what suits us best.”

Pre-Order ‘One And Only’, due out on June 28, 2024 via AFM Records

On their ensuing, Recently, the band was nominated for a Juno Award, the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy Award.

Without any doubt, Electric Sounds has the instant sound and feel of a classic. When the wheel is spinning freely and propelling you forward, there’s no need to reinvent the damn thing: instead, the Canadian trio is simply honing and refining their craft, and always at full volume. From the chest-out chutzpah of the opening “Guess Who’s Back” and the muscular new wave strut of “Good Time”, the ultimate pothead anthem “Get High?” to the title track’s promise to “smash a thousand guitars tonight!” and “Stiff Competition”’s angular, cock-eyed stomp and juddering bull’s-eye of chorus, Electric Sounds is a deceptively diverse affair. No band has ever sounded more ready to hit the road than the pumped-up threesome showcased on hell-for-leather ragers like “Eye For An Eye”, “What Goes Around” and mad-eyed and murderous closer “Shake Your City”.

Electric Sounds was produced by Eric Ratz, and guest spots from Tyler Stewart (Barenaked Ladies) on “She’s My Baby”, Damian Abraham of Fucked Up on “Get High?” and guitarist Daniel Dekay (from Canadian thrash legends Exciter) on “Electric Sounds” complete the picture with a snotty flourish.

With the latest Deluxe Version in addition to Electric Sounds as well as the “4×10” Vinyl edition, DANKO JONES present their fans some highly-collectable highlights featuring previously-unreleased bonus material, showcasing their amplitude of songwriting skills, an irrepressible energy and the reliability always providing a damn good time!

SLASH the iconic, GRAMMY®-winning guitarist and songwriter will return with his star-studded debut blues album and sixth solo album of his career, Orgy of the Damned, May 17, 2024 on Gibson Records in partnership with Sony Music Australia pre-order HERE.

SLASH has now released the new track Oh Well which features outlaw country star Chris Stapleton on vocals, and is a transcendent and electrified, bluesy folk-infused take on the Fleetwood Mac gem, written by original founder Peter Green; stream Oh Well HERE and listen to it HERE.

“So, this is the original Fleetwood Mac, which was founded by Peter Green, one of the greatest singer-songwriter-guitar players, he’s less known in the public, but very well known to us guitar players re the 60s British blues and he’s up there with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Nick Taylor. He sort of had a misadventure with drugs and disappeared early in his career, but he had some great fucking songs and ‘Oh Well’ is one of my favorites. I remember hearing the song on the radio when I was probably 13, they used to play both the older version of Fleetwood Mac and the new version of the band with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham a lot. I always loved this song, and it’s a great guitar riff. I jammed it with the Blues Ball back in the ‘90s, and I’ve played it live here and there. I knew from the beginning I wanted to do the song on this record. It was also one of the songs that I was trying to figure out who would be the right vocalist for it, and one of the ideas I had was Chris Stapleton, who is one of the most brilliant singer songwriters today. He’s also got such a gritty and distinctive voice, so I called him up and he did an amazing job. I mean, his voice is so cool.” –SLASH

A vibrant homage to the blues, Orgy of the Damned is a collection of 12 dynamic songs that shakes up and revitalizes blues classics with an organic stripped-down approach. By celebrating both well-known and largely undiscovered songs, SLASH offers a nostalgic nod to the past while reinvigorating the songs with his inimitable guitar playing and the spirit of collaboration. For Orgy of the Damned, the acclaimed guitarist reteamed with storied producer Mike Clink and enlisted the album’s diverse guest vocalists, which include Gary Clark Jr, Billy F. Gibbons, Chris Stapleton, Dorothy, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers, Demi Lovato, Brian Johnson, Tash Neal, Chris Robinson, and Beth Hart. Rounding out his blues band in the studio and on the road, SLASH reunited with two of his bandmates from his Blues Ball outfit in the 90s, bassist Johnny Griparic and keyboardist Teddy ‘ZigZag’ Andreadis, and brought on drummer Michael Jerome and singer/guitarist Tash Neal.

Listen to the first single off Orgy of the Damned, Killing Floor feat. Brian Johnson of AC/DC on vocals, and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith on harmonica which Rolling Stone hailed “a freewheeling bluesy solo,” and American Songwriter described as “rocking” HERE. Watch/share the Killing Floor video for a first look at SLASH and his blues band in the studio HERE

Orgy of the Damned encompasses a broad range of styles within the blues genre, veering from an upbeat, rowdy take on Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads” to a plaintive, twanging rendition of T. Bone Walker’s “Stormy Monday.” Some of the songs, like Steppenwolf’s “The Pusher,” Charlie Segar’s “Key to the Highway,” and Albert King’s “Born Under a Bad Sign,” had been performed by Slash’s Blues Ball, while others, like Stevie Wonder’s “Living for the City,” were long-time favorites for SLASH. “Hoochie Coochie Man,” written by Willie Dixon and made famous by Muddy Waters in 1954, showcases the in-the-moment nature and unrestrained energy of Orgy of the Damned, with Z.Z. Top’s Billy F. Gibbons stepping in on guitar and vocals. The group went into a rehearsal room in North Hollywood and began hashing out soulful, rollicking takes on the classic songs. Everything was played live in the room, with an emphasis on improvisation which resulted in a collection of dynamic, energized songs that are immediate, raw, and distinctly familiar.

In celebration of the forthcoming new record, SLASH curated an all-star Blues lineup to join him on the newly announced S.E.R.P.E.N.T. festival touring North America this July and August, including Warren Haynes Band, Keb’ ‘Mo, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Robert Randolph, Samantha Fish, Eric Gales, ZZ Ward, Jackie Venson, and Larkin Poe. SLASH’s S.E.R.P.E.N.T. festival, which stands for Solidarity, Engagement, Restore, Peace, Equality N’ Tolerance, will bring fans together to celebrate the spirit of the Blues and raise awareness and funds for multiple charities that uplift marginalized communities, support mental health initiatives, and share SLASH’s restorative focus of elevating lives for the benefit of all. A portion of the proceeds from each VIP package and S.E.R.P.E.N.T. festival ticket sold will directly benefit the following charities that SLASH has selected The Equal Justice Initiative, Know Your Rights Camp, The Greenlining Institute, War Child, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness. The S.E.R.P.E.N.T Festival has partnered with PLUS1.ORG to support these charitable endeavors.
