Yours Truly Share New Single ‘California Sober’ & Sophomore Album ‘TOXIC’ Due Out August 16

A soul-baring ode to being present in the moment, the brand new single California Sober out today from Sydney alternative trio Yours Truly is an empowered and engaging step closer to the group’s upcoming sophomore album, with TOXIC set for release on August 16 via UNFD.

Raw yet polished and loaded with forward-thinking pop punk hooks, California Sober finds Yours Truly‘s Mikaila Delgado taking another star turn with power-laced confessional lyricism amplified alongside sharp drumwork and emphatic guitars.

“California Sober was written during the same period as Sour,” the band shares. “We’d started working on Sour – we were getting nowhere with it. We had a bit of a breakdown; we were crying and talking about things.”

“We were mucking around, playing guitar, and Mikaila started singing about when you come over and your friends are stoned; just sitting there, not wanting to do much. It’s all good and fun, but you can’t enjoy other people’s company and think “I’m not good enough to hang out with”.”

“California Sober is the essence of trying to be present with your friends and loved ones. You don’t have to just put on this facade, this mask, and hide yourself away.”

From their 2020 album Self Care scooping up an ARIA nomination for Best Hard Rock or Heavy album, to boasting massive international performances, millions of streams and an ever-growing legion of global fans, Yours Truly remain transfixed as one of the most exciting young bands on the scene courtesy of their striking songwriting and dynamic live performances.

Never ones to stagnate or rest on their laurels, in 2022 Yours Truly catapulted their previous trademark pop punk style into a new stratosphere via their EP is this what i look like?. Armed with raw honesty and heightened influences, is this what i look like? explored moments of pop punk and introspection while also forging an amalgamation of organic yet unexpected new sounds, emerging as an irresistible exploration into heightened rock, emo and dance-ready sparkle woven into the Yours Truly DNA.

With their name now firmly cemented on a global scale, Yours Truly retain their versatility moving into their sophomore album chapter while also expanding beyond any stylistic confines or expectations. Produced by Ocean Grove‘s Sam Bassal and mixed by Daniel Braunstein (Spiritbox, Dayseeker), TOXIC ultimately nods to the fun pop-punk essence of earlier Yours Truly works while also demonstrating a boldness to step forward and explore heavy rhythms and, at times, darker direction. Via TOXIC, Yours Truly arrive at their most open, visceral and engaging material to date, with themes of anger, desperation, sadness and exhaustion forming alongside sanguine acceptance and self-awareness.

Spending 2023 touring Europe alongside You Me At Six, ticking off their first ever UK headline shows, supporting Against The Current in North America and touring Australia nationally with Neck Deep, Yours Truly kicked off 2024 with an appearance at THPS25 in Brisbane, celebrating 25 years of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater with Tony Hawk himself in attendance, as well as embarking on their entirely sold out Call My Name Tour across Australian in March. Yours Truly will also return overseas later this year, appearing at Reading and Leeds Festival in the UK this August alongside headliners Blink-182, Fred Again, Lana Del Rey, Liam Gallagher and many more.

Banks Arcade Announce Brand New EP ‘A Muse’ Due Out June 28 & Shares New Single ‘Heartstop’

BANKS ARCADE
ANNOUNCE BRAND NEW EP
A MUSE DUE OUT JUNE 28

BAND SHARES NEW SINGLE
HEARTSTOP

TOURING NATIONALLY THIS MAY

An enticing continuation of their earlier works, today Banks Arcade return with the announcement of a brand new EP, A Muse, due out on June 28 via UNFD.

Evolving from the darker sides explored on their recent DEATH 2 EP, released in February, A Muse finds the New Zealand-hailing, Melbourne-based quartet shedding the expected and instead flourishing between moments of searing rock, towering hooks, dance beats and fresh explorations into heavy surrounds.

A deeply personal extension of DEATH 2‘s chaos and sonic metamorphosis, today’s announcement of A Muse is also accompanied by the brand new single Heartstop; a swaggering, guitar-driven breakup anthem balanced with audacious grit and potent gloss, with the track premiering on New Zealand’s #1 rock station The Rock.

Heartstop is a sassy breakup rock anthem, the band shares of their latest single. It’s got a bit of ‘f*** you’ to it, but really it’s just a fun song that was made to make people dance and forget about that asshole that broke their heart.

Offering a memorable companion to their recent new single Self Help, also taken from the forthcoming A Muse EP, Heartstop readily wears its heart on its sleeve with infectious abandon, with vocalist Joshua O’Donnell powerfully declaring, “I like the way that I move / When I’m not hung up on you” alongside a sauntering chorus backdrop. And it’s this very notion of strength in vulnerability that carries throughout A Muse, from the vehement urgency of opening track Alive through to the moody ferocity of No Future and beyond.

Ruminating on their upcoming new EP, the band share: “A Muse follows on from DEATH 2 in a much more vulnerable way. It covers a lot of personal issues from relationships to internal struggles and in each song I tried to speak with my own voice as much as possible as opposed to the more abstract stuff on DEATH 2.”

Via DEATH 2, Banks Arcade didn’t merely build on their previously-established trademark sound; rather, it catapulted their heady blend of hard rock, electronic and metal into an entirely new sonic stratosphere, while also expressing the darkest and heaviest side of the quartet to date.

A band who always wanted to make history, Banks Arcade bring passion and potent execution to their myriad of influences and creative ideas. Formed over a shared love of music with a razor-sharp avant-garde aesthetic, Banks Arcade have always teetered on modernity; a fact displayed firmly on their 2018 debut EP Endnote, its 2020 follow up Fever Dreams, and the group’s head-turning singles Roses and Drown, both of which have gone on to amass well over 2 million individual streams.

Releasing their full-length Future Lovers in 2022, Banks Arcade cemented their future-facing trademark style while also turning heads courtesy of their emphatic soundscapes, searing metal and hip hop additions.

Fresh off the back of releasing DEATH 2in February, Banks Arcade also supported metalcore titans Northlane nationally alongside ERRA and Landmvrks that same month. And after two years of non-stop touring, Banks Arcade will also hit the road in New Zealand and Australia with a brand new live show this May, with the Death 2 A Muse Tour set to compile the band’s best work to date.

For Banks Arcade in 2024, DEATH 2 was only the beginning. Don’t miss a moment of what happens next.

Yours Truly Announce Brand New Album ‘TOXIC’ Due Out August 16 & Shares New Single ‘Sour’

YOURS TRULY
ANNOUNCE BRAND NEW ALBUM TOXIC
DUE OUT FRIDAY 16 AUGUST

BAND SHARES NEW SINGLE SOUR

Come and sink your teeth into the dazzling new era for alternative luminaries Yours Truly, with the Sydney trio today announcing their brand new album TOXIC, set for release on Friday 16 August via UNFD. Pre-orders for TOXIC will go live on May 2 at 9:00am AEST.

With their name now cemented on a global scale, Yours Truly journey even further into their trademark versatility on their forthcoming sophomore album chapter, expanding beyond stylistic confines and expectations. Effusive and effervescent one moment, dark and damaging the next, TOXIC runs the spectrum of human emotions across its 10 tracks. Led by a star turn from vocalist Mikaila Delgado, the album is an open-vein, open heart diary of personal crisis, a dynamic yet cohesive soundscape of pop and rock, indie and alternative shimmering and shuddering beneath Delgado’s cathartic confessionals: in short, it’s a lethal dose of brilliance from one of the scene’s brightest musical acts.

Following up from the brooding pulse of Call My Name, latest single Sour serves up captivating hooks for days on a platter of irresistible staccato swagger.

“Sour was written during a session after I was feeling extremely burnt out,” shares vocalist Mikaila Delgado. “We had come off extensive touring and quite a turbulent time not only for the band but personally as well. I was just feeling so bitter towards everything and trying to force writing when it just wasn’t naturally flowing made me so angry. We got to a stage as a band where we had a lot of people in our ear telling us what to do and how they thought we should do it. I just thought “fuck this, this is our fucking band, I’m going to do what I want!””

Sour follows on from Yours Truly‘s most recent single Call My Name, with the latter praised by Kerrang! for its catchy wiles as well as spending multiple weeks in triple j’s Most Played list. Adopting modernised pop punk stylings alongside themes of self discovery, Call My Name seamlessly leads into Sour‘s powerhouse qualities, with both offering a tempting peek into what lies in wait on TOXIC.

Polished, precise and hauntingly vulnerable, Yours Truly catapulted their previous trademark pop punk style into a new stratosphere via their 2022 EP is this what i look like?.

From their 2020 album Self Care scooping up an ARIA nomination for Best Hard Rock or Heavy album, to boasting massive international performances, millions of streams and an ever-growing legion of global fans, Yours Truly remain transfixed as one of the most exciting bands on the scene courtesy of their striking songwriting and dynamic live performances.

In Hearts Wake Announce Brand New Album ‘Incarnation’ Due Out July 12 & Share New Single/Video ‘Hollow Bone (pl ɹoʍ ǝɥʇ)’

IN HEARTS WAKE
ANNOUNCE BRAND NEW ALBUM
INCARNATION
DUE OUT JULY 12

SHARE NEW SINGLE/VIDEO
HOLLOW BONE (plɹoʍ ǝɥʇ)

TOURING NATIONALLY THIS SEPTEMBER

Today In Hearts Wake manifest a brand new chapter, announcing their sixth studio album, Incarnation, which will be released on July 12 via UNFD. This news follows the recent bittersweet announcement of long-time bassist and clean vocalist Kyle Erich‘s departure.

Speaking on the upcoming album, vocalist Jake Taylor shares:

“INCARNATION is the shadow counterpart and sequel to the band’s debut album DIVINATION, with each song inspired by the meaning and ideals of a particular Major Arcana Tarot card. There are 22 Major Arcana Tarot cards in every deck and 11 tracks on each record, bringing the vision to completion 12 years later.”

“But much like a coin with two sides, cards flipped upside down deliver the reversed meaning,” Taylor continues. “Polarised in every way, INCARNATION explores the dark underbelly to mirror and stand diametrically opposite to DIVINATION.”

In Hearts Wake have also dropped an official Incarnation Tarot-themed website that fans can visit throughout the album rollout for access to behind the scenes, sneak peaks at new music, exclusive info, and Incarnation announcements. For more info, visit https://incarnation.inheartswake.com/.

The hotly-anticipated follow up to 2020’s Kaliyuga, which debuted at #3 on the ARIA Album Charts, Incarnation is equally a powerful yet poignant step forward for the Byron Bay-hailing group, heralded today by the release of the fiery new single Hollow Bone (plɹoʍ ǝɥʇ).

Balancing spitfire guitars and searing textures, Hollow Bone (plɹoʍ ǝɥʇ) is a gripping ride that ricochets with polish and heaving dexterity, while also ultimately soldering the In Hearts Wake transformative spirit as vocalist Jake Taylor bellows “This cage is not my home.”

“Going through a death-of-sorts with Kyle having left the band, Hollow Bone became our reclamation anthem for the band to live on,” In Hearts Wake explain of their brand new single. “Since high school we’ve given everything and we weren’t about to give up. Not yet…”

“Picking up the microphone as a group, together we delivered a melodic chorus for the first time. We used actual bones as percussive instruments – symbolic of death’s transformation. This track acting as our stake in the ground. What would you die for?!”

Hailing from Byron Bay and now one of the leading acts in the Australian heavy scene, In Hearts Wake first roared into view via their 2012 debut album Divination; a tarot-inspired release, praised for its memorable breakdowns, melodic hooks, taut execution and a sea of features. Remaining a fan-favourite to this day, Divination also set the stage for a horde of headline shows, international tours, and appearances at Soundwave Festival, UNIFY Gathering, Groovin The Moo and beyond for In Hearts Wake.

Having previously released five hard-hitting albums, including 2014’s Earthwalker, 2015’s Skydancer, 2017’s Ark and 2020’s Kaliyuga, In Hearts Wake also routinely fuse themes of social and environmental justice into their palpitating brand of metalcore, with millions of streams and a dedicated fanbase across the globe flourishing alongside the band’s environmental endeavours, with the latter witnessed most recently via the 2022 feature-length documentary Green Is The New Black.

Boasting an ARIA Award-nominated soundtrack, Green Is The New Black focused on the making of Kaliyuga and In Hearts Wake‘s successful efforts to carbon offset the entire recording process. Critically-acclaimed, the film also explored the music industry’s relationship to the environment, generating an important conversation and viable solutions for the creative arts against the odds of the pandemic years.

Recently appearing at UNIFY Off The Record in 2023 and wowing audiences across Australia with their Decade Of Divination tour last year, In Hearts Wake now turn their gaze to a brand new album in 2024, and are also set to celebrate and farewell their journey to date with long-time bassist and vocalist Kyle Erich this September with a special Australian headline run that spans Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

In conjunction with announcing Erich‘s departure, In Hearts Wake also recently released a new single Farewell, with the track fittingly bringing to a close the monumental chapter for Erich and In Hearts Wake.

Void Of Vision Share Ferocious New Single ‘Empty’ & Touring Nationally This September Supporting Parkway Drive

Raw, ferocious and oozing with caustic dexterity, come and witness the high octane new single Empty from metalcore mavericks Void Of Vision, officially out today via UNFD.

Following the quartet’s transmutation via the razor-sharp 2023 single Angel Of Darkness, Empty is a sweltering blend of pummeling beats and oscillating melodics, complete with jagged riffs, voracious vocals and a fiery breakdown that all combine to unite the recent journey behind the scenes in particular for frontman Jack Bergin.

“Empty was written halfway through our Australian tour in October last year,” shares Bergin. “We’d just completed our first run of shows back since I had surgery following a brain AVM rupture in April, which left me facing mixed emotions I didn’t expect. On one hand, we were playing our largest ever headline shows to date and selling them all out, and on the other I was facing the fear of getting up on stage every night risking another potential rupture every set I played.”

“Performing under the ‘Angel Of Darkness’ persona for the single campaign, I’d get up on stage and play it down from the usual high energy show we’re known for, leaving every second of gratitude or appreciation to be communicated by a backing track in between songs to communicate with the audience,” Bergin continues. “A protective measure sure, yet I felt vapid and far from the engaging stage persona that had led us to playing these bigger stages in the first place. We were at the peak of our career and I felt nothing but imposter syndrome up where I usually feel most at home.”

“Everything quickly snowballed into more bottled up emotions surfacing, all of a sudden finding myself coming to terms with unprecedented body dysmorphia after my hospital stay. I had never even processed losing all my hair from alopecia until I had to return to societal norms after hiding away for months straight off the back of touring. I’d just been diving into a world of fashion and makeup trying to cover everything up just to hide my face and body in a world where I couldn’t avoid comments and remarks, no matter how I presented myself.”

“Following the Sydney date of tour we found ourselves in the studio on an off day, laying down the foundations of what would by the end of the day, become Empty,” Bergin concludes. “I took the first words off the top of my dome, and screamed that chorus at the top of my lungs, leaving the take from that very demo the exact same as the intro in the final track you hear today. It feels suiting to return now with a song all about perception, not only by the public but also one self.. and it feels like true growth now feeling entirely realized and ready for whatever is to come.”

Melbourne’s Void Of Vision have solidified their standing as one of the most innovative and sonically explosive acts in the modern heavy scene for over a decade. Performing at Australia’s first-ever Knotfest edition, alongside Slipknot, Parkway Drive, Megadeth and more, to collaborating with metal-meets-electronic DJ and producer PhaseOne, Void Of Vision also recently unveiled the amalgamated CHRONICLESseries as a complete album, bringing together the previously standalone EPs LUST, HEAVEN and UNDERWORLD into a gripping snapshot of Void Of Vision‘s relentlessly inventive past, present and future.

From their debut EP, 2014’s Broken // Bones through to 2016’s Children of Chrome, 2017’s Disturbia, 2019’s Hyperdaze and the release of CHRONICLES, a new future was heralded in 2023 by the standalone single Angel Of Darkness; an alt metal rager weighted equally by searing heaviness and pulsing pop, helmed by the titular Angel Of Darkness as the band’s representative during the single’s campaign.

Supporting Invent Animate last year as well as touring the UK and Europe supporting Stray From The Path, Void Of Vision closed out 2023 with their biggest Australian headline shows to date. And kickstarting 2024 with an appearance at Homegrown Festival in Melbourne and with a special headline show in Narre Warren, Void Of Vision are firmly poised for an explosive year ahead, touring North America supporting ERRA as of next week, before joining Aussie juggernauts Parkway Drive on their gargantuan 20 Year Anniversary Tour in Australia this September along with I Prevail and The Ghost Inside.

Like Moths To Flames Share ‘Dissociative Being’ Visualizer & New Album ‘The Cycles Of Trying To Cope’ Arrives May 10

U.S. metalcore act Like Moths To Flames previously announced their new album The Cycles Of Trying To Cope. It arrives on May 10 via UNFD.

Now, the band has dropped the visualizer for Dissociative Being.

“Blood leaves a stain that’s often hard to remove, much like the scars that people leave when they’re destructive with their life,” the band says. “This song is about someone who’s destroyed everything they had left and being so parasitic with their life that it bleeds into the lives of others.” Each single that the band has released is related to a coping “cycle” and associated word. Dissociative Being is part of “Cycle Three: Disassociate.”

“When it breaks, what piece am I left with?,” ponders frontman Chris Roetter over the rousing, palms-to-the-sky outro of Kintsugi, an emotional thunderclap of a song that forms somewhat of a centrepiece to Like Moths To Flames’ career re-defining sixth album, The Cycles Of Trying To Cope. Whilst the anthemic track’s title pays homage to the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, for Roetter and his bandmates (guitarists Zach Pishney and Cody Cavanaugh, and drummer Roman Garcia), the notion of Kintsugi comes loaded with the profound human experience of seeking to find light in the dark, to birth good from bad — indeed, the cycles of trying to cope: “The record encapsulates the varying emotions we go through when trying to grow through life,” says Roetter. “Over the last few years, I’ve really tried to harness my emotions as a catalyst to get through whatever I was facing at the time. I think we all have our own unique ways to cope — these are mine. Just being able to write about this stuff and put it out into the world makes it feel like I’m not so alone.”

Segmented into four chapters, dubbed LIMBO, FRACTURE, DISSOCIATE, and MELANCHOLIA, The Cycles Of Trying To Cope album plays as an intense exploration of the Like Moths musical arsenal, straddling the ugly and the beautiful in equal measure, whilst Roetter’s raw introspection pierces the heart of every vicious breakdown or soaring chorus with cathartic power. Though not originally designed to be a concept album, Roetter’s reflections on these diverse, complimentary, and contrasting facets of the band’s latest opus revealed common threads which led the singer even deeper into his internal landscape; exploring the ways in which differing stages and aspects of the record were connected evoked in Roetter thoughts of the terraces in Dante’s Purgatory and the “cycles” were given shape.

“A big focal point for Moths has always been writing about things I’m actively going through,” Roetter details. “But when I realized that each song on the new album covers a unique approach I’ve had to a specific emotion, it felt like we needed something that could escort listeners through the record. It definitely helps it all feel cohesive and complete; Sometimes an album can just feel like a collection of songs, but I think this is more an experience to the band — I hope that people are able to find some solace in knowing someone else out there is dealing with these things too.”

In Hearts Wake Bid Farewell To Bassist Kyle Erich, Announce His Final Tour For September & Share New Single/Video

IN HEARTS WAKE
BID FAREWELL TO BASSIST KYLE ERICH

ANNOUNCE HIS FINAL TOUR FOR SEPTEMBER

SHARE NEW SINGLE/VIDEO FAREWELL

After twelve years creating music beloved by a loyal fanbase across the world, today In Hearts Wake announce the departure of long-time bassist and vocalist, Kyle Erich.

In conjunction with today's news, In Hearts Wake have also announced that they will tour Australia with Erich for the last time this September, giving fans the opportunity to share in an important closing chapter for the band. And also alongside this announcement, In Hearts Wake deliver a brand new track, fittingly titled Farewell; a poignant cap put on Erich’s time with the band, laced with emotional tension and catharsis.

Though Erich’s departure signifies a dynamic shift for In Hearts Wake, their split has been amicable; both are anticipating bright futures as they continue on separate paths. After going through the motions of any break-up –– from sadness and heartbreak, through to acceptance –– In Hearts Wake and Erich are now ready to celebrate with the release of Farewell and their upcoming final run of headline shows together.

The process of creating Farewell doubled as a healthy way of processing Erich’s impending departure from the band; a moment for him to be involved in his exit in a way that perfectly put a pin in his time with his bandmates. It is this very reason Farewell has a spirit of closure to it, because this is exactly what it represents: a beautiful, monumental chapter coming to an close for Erich and In Hearts Wake alike.

As his melodies and vocals soar, the heartfelt weight of his final message is as much for the In Hearts Wake fans, as it is for his bandmates.

Hailing from Byron Bay and now one of the leading acts in the Australian heavy scene, In Hearts Wake first roared into view via their 2012 debut album Divination; a tarot-inspired release, praised for its memorable breakdowns, melodic hooks, taut execution and a sea of features. Remaining a fan-favourite to this day, Divination peaked at #27 on the ARIA Charts, setting the stage for a horde of headline shows, international tours, appearances at Soundwave Festival and beyond for In Hearts Wake.

Now in command of five hard-hitting albums, including 2014's Earthwalker, 2015's Skydancer, 2017's Ark and 2020's Kaliyuga, In Hearts Wake also fuse themes of social and environmental justice into their palpitating brand of metalcore, with multiple Top 5 ARIA debuts, millions of streams and fans across the globe.

Recently appearing at UNIFY Off The Record in 2023 and wowing audiences across Australia with their Decade Of Divination tour last year, In Hearts Wake are set to celebrate and farewell their journey to date with Erich this September with what is guaranteed to be a poignant and unforgettable run that spans Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

Ultimately, to honour Erich’s imprint on In Hearts Wake, clear and evident since the debut In Hearts Wake album, the seminal Divination, the only way the group could convey such a whirlwind of emotions was through a dose of new music that captured everything about the In Hearts Wake spirit: brutality, passion and catharsis.

In Hearts Wake has some news. Our bass player & clean vocalist Kyle Erich is leaving the band to focus on his family and other parts of his life. He will be touring with us one last time in September, and today we have released a new track and video called “Farewell” as part of his send off.

We adore Kyle and appreciate every contribution he’s made to our band and our lives. 12 years of laughs, gigs and singalongs. He's an amazing person and we will miss having him around as In Hearts Wake continues to forge ahead.

While we were saddened and heart broken by the news at first, we all knew that what was right for Kyle was right for us. We all support his decision and can't wait to celebrate him and bring closure to his journey with the band.

We will have more In Hearts Wake news in a couple of weeks, but for now lets celebrate our man Kyle Erich and all the amazing moments we've had together

Jake, Ben, Eaven & Conor

It's hard to put into words how impactful and fulfilling my journey with In Hearts Wake has been. I honestly feel so lucky to have been a part of In Hearts Wake and everything it has become over the years. The places we’ve been, the bands/people who have supported us and all the incredible moments that I’ll never forget. To be honest, I never really thought that music could bring so much joy to my life and I owe so much to my brothers in the band for seeing something in me that I didn’t even know I had.

The life of a touring musician is incredible and honestly I wouldn't change a thing about my last twelve years with In Hearts Wake. That being said, this life does require a lot of sacrifice and now as a father those choices are more complicated and much harder to make. Being in the industry for as long as I have, I know you need to give 100% to make it work and I’m at a point now where that’s not something I’m able to give. In my eyes that would be a disservice to the band and to all our fans who have supported us over the years.

Farewell will be my last song with the band and it was a very difficult song to write. Despite this being the right decision for me it’s been so hard to let go of something that’s been such a massive part of my life. The Australian tour this September will be my last tour as part of the band and although bitter sweet, its going to be a farewell tour to remember.

From the bottom of my heart I want to thank anyone who has come to a show, said hello to me in the street or played with us on stage. You have truly changed my life forever. Jake, Ben, Eaven, and Conor I love you guys and I can't wait to see where In Hearts Wake goes from here.

See you down the road!

Kyle Erich
