Reliqa Release Video For New Single ‘Dying Light’. Debut Album ‘Secrets Of The Future’ Due Out Friday 31 May

RELIQA
RELEASE VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE
DYING LIGHT

DEBUT ALBUMSECRETS OF THE FUTURE
DUE OUT FRIDAY 31 MAY

TOURING NATIONALLY THIS JUNE

Fast-rising Australian metallers Reliqa have released a video for their new single, Dying Light, the third cut to be taken from their upcoming debut album, Secrets of the Future, which sees a 31st May release via Greyscale Records and Nuclear Blast Records.

Vocalist Monique Pym comments: “Dying Light is your last taste of the album before we go full send on May 31st. This one is all about the attitude – it’s got a level of sass and femininity that we haven’t explored before, with a dirty, riffy groove to keep it grounded. I think this song really completes the picture alongside Terminal and Killstar for how many diverse kinds of sounds we’ve managed to pack into the record.”

A lush, diverse and sci-fi-hued collection of songs that traverse fleeting moments of the human experience, Secrets of the Future also possesses a melting pot of stylistic inspiration, with elements spanning melodic metalcore through to contemporary rap, K-Pop, J-Metal, atmospheric pop, modern progressive metal as well as more traditional rock and metal.

With Secrets of the Future, Reliqa aren’t merely gazing at what’s to come; instead, they conjure it with poise and finesse, unpacking a rich and vivid tapestry that explores political injustice on tracks like Killstar (The Cold World), finding power in femininity on Sariah, as well as oscillating spotlights on the inner push-and-pull between protest and acceptance of reality.

Defying genre labels and harnessing their potent sonic identity in the heavy music landscape over the years, Reliqa have evolved from being “ones to watch” into an act destined for genuine greatness.

Whether dazzling onstage supporting the likes of Spiritbox, Halestorm, Sevendust, BABYMETAL or Northlane, whipping festival crowds into a frenzy or headlining their own shows, Reliqa never cease to enamour in a live setting alongside multiple singles commanding over 2 million individual streams, including Doomed and Mr. Magic.

Most recently flexing their nuanced take on heavy modernity with their 2022 EP I Don’t Know What I Am, Reliqa brandished dark grooves, layered soundscapes, electronic flourishes and more. I Don’t Know What I Am may have initially stemmed from the group themselves and the broader music industry being unable to categorise Reliqa‘s unique and immersive stylings; but ultimately, it’s the group’s bold and boundless sense of self that radically sets Reliqa apart from your standard heavy act.

Facing the future to their impending new album and fresh off supporting American rock powerhouses Halesform for their Knotfest Australia 2024 headline sideshows, Reliqa will embark on their Secrets Of The Future Tour this June, with three headline shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney alongside supports RinRin, as well as a performance supporting Caligula’s Horse in Adelaide and an appearance at Never Had So Much Fun in Gosford alongside RedHook, Tiali and many more.

In 2024, the secret is out, the future is now; and its name is Reliqa.

THE DREGGS DEBUT ALBUM ‘CAUGHT IN A REVERIE’ OUT NOW

DEBUT ALBUM CAUGHT IN A REVERIE OUT NOW

SOLD OUT ALBUM LAUNCH PARTIES KICK OFF TODAY

AUS AND NZ ALBUM HEADLINE TOUR THIS
JUNE, JULY + AUGUST

“It’s perfect for a road trip, conjuring images of warm breezes and sunlight streaming through the window.”
Rolling Stone AU

Bathed in warmth and lustrous indie-folk, the long-awaited debut album Caught In A Reverie from beloved Sunshine Coast duo The Dreggs has finally made its way into the world today. A celebration of dreamy melodics and lush instrumentals, Caught In A Reverie is a beautiful daydream waiting to captivate your heart and soul, with The Dreggs also set to tonight kick off a run of sold out album launch parties around the country, before officially jumping in to their album headline tour in June.

With five upcoming sold out album launch parties set to dazzle and spotlight exactly why everyone is talking about the power of this act in a live setting, The Dreggs will kick off at Gold Coast’s Miami Marketta tonight before heading to the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Torquay and Melbourne, before embarking on their official headline album tour this June, July and August, taking the pair’s magical live show to Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, before heading across the ditch for multiple performances in New Zealand. Tickets for The Dreggs album tour are on sale now via www.thedreggsmusic.com.

Opening with the Matt Corby-produced single Peeps With The Goods, Caught In A Reverie instantly snares with its sunny disposition, and effortless calm and charm. From percolating percussion and creamy vocals, Peeps With The Goods leads into acoustic folk magic (Train Left The Station), emphatic country hues (Places), undulating beauty (Look To The Stars) and poignant storytelling (I’m A Little Older). And whether showcasing their energetic sides on the percolations of For Your Love, dreamy melancholia on Sad Old Song, or full-blown shimmering joy on She Picks Flowers, there’s an inescapable thread that binds each track across Caught In A Reverie, with a gamut of stylistic hues on display, expertly helmed by The Dreggs, aka Paddy Macrae and Zane Harris themselves. “It’s finally here, our debut album,” shares Zane. “We’re so excited to get our album into the world. We wanted our debut album to be an eclectic collection of music, an album where you don’t have to skip any songs.”

An album many years in the making, and one hotly anticipated industry-wide, Caught In A Reverie elevates everything fans know and love about The Dreggs into a whimsical new plane of existence, with the pair also weaving themes of growth and change throughout the album; a fact which organically stemmed from their eclectic recording process. “We wanted each song to be somewhat different from the last but still have the classic “Dreggs” sound,” Zane reveals. “We recorded this album with multiple producers in various studios which actually helped us with the theme of keeping each song sounding that little bit different from the last. The name ‘Caught In A Reverie’ means you’re stuck in a daydream which was what we felt in the past couple of years. When we first started writing the album we wanted it to have a narrative, but we weren’t sure what that was going to be. As the songs started coming, we soon realised that it was going to be an album about personal growth. Not every song is about that though, there’s breakup songs, sad songs, songs you can scream in your car at the top of your lungs and of course songs you can sing and dance to. We have learnt so much from this album. We can’t wait to take what we’ve learnt into our future albums.”

From starting 2024 as triple j Unearthed’s first feature artist for the year to now releasing their long-awaited debut album Caught In A Reverie, The Dreggs are only just getting started as they continue to cultivate a global reputation for their trademark brand of indie-folk. Hailing from the Sunshine Coast, The Dreggs catapulted from the release of their debut single Give Myself To You back in 2017 into one of Australia’s most in-demand live acts, alongside having their debut track also certified Gold in Australia in 2023. Selling over 15,000 tickets in Australia alone last year with their largest ever headline and regional tours, and mesmerising crowds of around 10,000 with their sets at Spilt Milk Festival, The Dreggs are undeniably the hottest ticket in town, with their recently announced album release week shows selling out in 48 hours – purely off the back of an Instagram post. And it’s not just at home that The Dreggs love runs deep, with the duo also continuing to turn heads overseas, with their return to the UK and Europe this May set to deliver their biggest international headline shows to date.

A genuine force to be reckoned with in a live setting, as anyone who attended their respective mass-singalong sets at Spilt Milk and NYE On The Hill will attest to, The Dreggs will hit the road this June and July to launch Caught In A Reverie nationally, with plenty of unforgettable moments ready to be made when the band visit Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, as well as shows lined up soon after in Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown, Wellington and Auckland. And before the official album tour takes place, the celebrations for Caught In A Reverie are primed and ready, with the band’s sold out album launch parties officially kicking off tonight on the Gold Coast. Expect plenty of Paddy and Zane goodness and maybe some extra special surprises in store; and it just wouldn’t be a The Dreggs show without a singalong, so definitely don’t miss out when The Dreggs head to a town near you!
