Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators The River Is Rising – Rest Of The Wold Tour ’24 With Special Guests

SLASH FEAT. MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS will be heading to Australia in February 2024 as part of The River Is Rising-Rest of the World Tour ’24 with special guests THE STRUTS and ROSE TATTOO.

A decade and four albums into their career, the universally acclaimed album 4 -which charted at #2 on the ARIA album chart also debuted as the #1 Most-Selling Hard Rock Album–is SMKC like you’ve never heard them before. A vibrant rock album fuelled by memorable guitar hooks and compelling melodies, big choruses, and even bigger riffs, 4 hits on a wide range of sounds, styles, and moods in 10 songs, and does it all with laser-sharp musical focus and a lightning-in-a-bottle sense of immediacy.

The fourth studio album from SMKC and SLASH’s fifth solo album overall, SLASH and his bandmates MYLES KENNEDY (Vocals), TODD KERNS (Bass & Vocals), BRENT FITZ (Drums), and FRANK SIDORIS (Guitar & Vocals), partnered with producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, John Prine, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile), on 4 resulting in the band’s strongest album to date. Recorded at RCA Studio A in Nashville, Cobb shared the band’s desire to lay down the tracks live in the studio–including guitar solos and vocals–revealing a stunning, vital sound and style all captured live.

The album kicks off with opening track The River is Rising is one of the band’s toughest and most dynamic compositions to date, unravelling via a menacing, tightly-coiled riff and deep-in-the-pocket groove. April Fool followed the successful first single The River Is Rising. SMKC performed The River Is Rising which Rolling Stone hailed as “raucous” and Billboard acclaimed as “euphoric” with “a surging main riff, dissonant hooks, an infectious chorus, and a guitar solo that conjures images of a rowdy bar brawl on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

4 is a standout album that grabs hold, and never lets go, from the deliberate stomp rock of Whatever Gets You By, the bright-toned, heart-on-sleeve pop-rocker Fill My World, to the talk box-drenched guitar hooks of C’est La Vie, exotica-tinged psychedelic fever dream of Spirit Love, the anthemic swell of The Path Less Followed, to the cowbell-inflected boogie-shake of Actions Speak Louder Than Words, the grimy Aerosmith-esque funk of April Fool, to the rampaging attack of Call Off the Dogs, and climaxing with the epic, six minute album closer Fall Back to Earth.

4 has generated some of the most positive critical accolades in the group’s history including:

“musically stinging crunch-rock… beautifully melodic.”- USA Today

“On 4, the fourth record by Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, he [Slash] captured the mojo he was after by recording most of the album live in a mere 10 days at Nashville’s RCA Studio A… For Slash, recording off the cuff was as liberating as he had hoped it would be, and not second-guessing himself contributed to the album’s eclecticism. There’s the heart-aching power ballad ‘Fall Back to Earth’ the glam-banging ‘Actions Speak Louder Than Words’ and the euphoric first single, ‘The River Is Rising,’ which features a surging main riff, dissonant hooks, an infectious chorus and a guitar solo that conjures images of a rowdy bar brawl.” Billboard

“From the insistent churn of the opening track and first single ‘The River Is Rising,’ to the slippery funk rhythms of ‘April Fool,’ the dinosaur-sized stomp of ‘Whatever Gets You By’ to the off-to-the-races sprint of ‘Call Of The Dogs,’ 4 hits with the immediacy of a great live show. …Slash & Co color outside the lines on tracks like the slinky, Eastern-tinged ‘Spirit Love’ and the uncharacteristically major-key pop-rock workout ‘Fill My World,’ as well as the widescreen epic ballad ‘Fall Back to Earth’ which closes the record in dramatic fashion. Overall, it’s a leaner, harder and more expansive take on the SMKC sound.”Guitar World

“The whole album is a masterpiece. If you want to know what real rock-and-roll sounds like, crack it up nice and loud.”  – Metal Insider

“The ‘River Is Rising’ marks the first new music in three years from Slash and his band, and it doesn’t disappoint. There’s a metallic stomp to the track, which opens with a tremolo riff that would be at home in a black metal song. From there, quintet lock into a four-on-the-floor groove as Kennedy alternates between epic singing and cleaner melodies during the chorus. Overall, there’s plenty to satiate both hard rock and metal fans”.Consequence Of Sound

Special guests are British rockers, THE STRUTS. They have been a live sensation since they first erupted onto the scene with their certified Platinum anthem, Could’ve Been Me, introducing the world to their triumphant, timeless rock sound. Following the release of their critically-acclaimed debut, 2016’s Everybody Wants, they set out on the road, bringing their energetic tracks alive on stage with larger-than-life performances and cementing their reputation as a must-see live act.

They’ve opened for the likes of The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, and Guns N’ Roses, while selling out shows across the globe and leaving a trail of unbridled rock collections. Their on-stage prowess and perpetual musicality have allowed them to reach the No. 1 Spot on Spotify’s Viral Top 50, more than 850M on-demand streams, and put them in the studio collaborating with Kesha, Tom Morello, Robbie Williams, Def Leppard and more.

ROSE TATTOO is one of Australia’s most revered rock bands fronted by Angry Anderson. Hailing from the late ‘70s and eight studio albums under their belts, their first four albums yielded the hits Bad Boy For Love, Rock ‘n’ Roll Outlaw, Nice Boys and Scarred for Life and have persisted with many changes over the decades. They were inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame in 2006 and in 1993 re-formed to open for Guns N Roses on their Australian tour.

Evanescence Announce Australian Tour Celebrating 20 Years of ‘Fallen’

Multiple Grammy wins and two decades on, the debut album Fallen from American rockers EVANESCENCE remains one of the most influential albums of the turn of the century. A critical and commercial triumph, fans can now witness highlights from the gothic beauty of the 2003 debut release and a career spanning set of fan favourites this year, with EVANESCENCE thrilled to announce their return to Australia this August and September celebrating 20 years of Fallen.

Starting life when EVANESCENCE vocalist Amy Lee and co-founder Ben Moody began writing and recording songs in the mid 90s, 2003’s Fallen would go on to score five nominations at the 2004 Grammy Awards, winning Best Hard Rock Performance and Best New Artist, with the album’s symphonic and delicate ballad My Immortal also scoring an additional nomination at the Grammy Awards the following year.

Hitting the top 10 charts in multiple countries upon its release, including Australia and a #1 in the UK, Fallen sold 10 million copies in the US alone, with over 17 million copies sold worldwide and officially reaching diamond certification in late 2022.

Fallen’s lush and gloomy beauty memorably blended symphonic elements with goth, rock, metal and hooks aplenty, while also garnering significant attention for lead singles Bring Me to Life, Going Under, My Immortal and Everybody’s Fool. And while the album has gone on to be included in the likes of Rolling Stone’s ‘The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time’ and praise lauded for Lee’s macabre tinge that set the band apart from their nu metal contemporaries at the time, Fallen also ultimately set the scene for a long-term legacy from the Arkansas-hailing group, who are now in command of five studio albums including 2021’s powerful and intimate outing The Bitter Truth which debuted at #3 on the ARIA chart, which marked the band’s highest debut in 15 years.

Following multiple worldwide tours, The Open Door followed Fallen’s footsteps, going on to sell more than five million copies, before the self-titled Evanescence in 2011 debuted at #1 on the ARIA album chart and Billboard Chart. EVANESCENCE went down both very new and familiar paths for their fourth and most ambitious release to date, Synthesis, in 2017 alongside a worldwide Synthesis Live tour combining their intense live performances and timeless songwriting with a powerful live orchestra, before unveiling The Bitter Truth in 2021, hitting the top 10 of multiple international album charts and marking itself on multiple Best of 2021 release lists worldwide.

Renowned for their enamouring live show as much as they are for their haunting, potent and visceral material, this marks the band’s first Australian tour since their sublime run with local symphony orchestras in 2018 so get set to revisit the album that started it all and beyond when EVANESCENCE return to our shores to celebrate 20 years of Fallen.

Tickets won’t last long for these incredible shows, secure your spot today!

Avatar Finally Comes Down Under: The Decade-Long Wait Is Over!

It’s official folks! The wait is finally over! After a decade of anxious waiting, multiple fan petitions, and a support group for Australian fans, AVATAR is finally making their way down under. And let’s be real here, we’re not just talking about any old band. We’re talking about one of the greatest live bands in the history of heavy music! These guys are renowned for their legendary performances, ludicrous levels of skill as musicians, and a seemingly endless catalog of killer songs.

AVATAR has been the favorite metal band of just about every metal band out there. Iron Maiden even invited them on tour, and Vinnie Paul claimed Dimebag would have been jealous of their riffs. That’s some serious praise right there! And let’s not forget the mega-star cameos on their albums, including Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale on the new one. These guys have never lacked for adoration from their peers.

And they’re not just talented musicians either. When Matt Heafy of Trivium had to skip a few shows on their tour for the birth of his twins, his choice to fill in for him was none other than Avatar’s Johannes Eckstrom. That’s some serious friendship goals right there!

Avatar has amassed over 100 million plays on Spotify and an incredible 163 million views on their YouTube channel. Their songs Bloody Angel, Hail The Apocalypse, Torn Apart, The Eagle Has Landed, and many more are absolute bangers that have had metalheads headbanging for years. And their recent single, The Dirt I’m Buried In, currently on 3.2M views, reached 1M views in only 2 days. That’s some serious love right there!

With their stunning new album, Dance Devil Dance, debuting at #1 in Metal, #1 in Rock, and #6 for All Albums on the Australian iTunes Charts, it’s clear that Australia will no longer be denied! So if you’re a metalhead living down under, get ready to witness the pure joy and spectacle that is AVATAR live in concert. And let’s hope they bring their A-game, because we’ve been waiting for this moment for a long, long time!

The Waifs ‘Up All Night’ 20th Anniversary Australian Tour 2023

The Waifs are delighted to announce an extensive Australian tour spanning from June to September, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal album Up All Night’.  Each show will see the band play the album in full and a sprinkling of fan favourites. They will be joined by special guests and great friends along the way who have each had their own impact on The Waifs career over the years, including multiple ARIA Award winner Missy Higgins (Melbourne show only), who did her first national tour supporting the original Up All Night album tour in 2003.

To mark this occasion, they will release ‘Up All Night’ on vinyl for the first time with a limited signed edition available as part of a VIP ticket package.

From their inception in 1992 to 2002, The Waifs traversed Australia playing every small town with a local paper, a local radio station, a pub or hall that would host live music, and someone willing to listen, of which there were many! Constant touring laid a broad foundation, musical chemistry, and an approachable relatability through their lyrics solidified a lifelong, dedicated fan base.

The original independent avant-garde folk heroes, they released three LPs, self-titled The Waifs (1996), Shelter Me (1998) and Sink or Swim (2000) during that time with the unwavering support of community radio, ABC local and metro radio, street press and local papers.

In July 2002, everything changed thanks to their breakthrough single ‘London Still’, “The Waifs' heartfelt, plucked ode to missing home resonated with every Australian that has ever found themselves in a far-flung, cold place somewhere across the globe”, said Junkee in their

Greatest Australian Songs Of All Time list. ‘London Still’ caught the ears of the mainstream and youth radio station triple j, who threw it onto high rotation and paved the way for the
following singles ‘Fisherman’s Daughter’ , ‘Lighthouse’,Highway One’ and ultimately their 2003 LP ‘Up All Night’.

Recorded between LA and Melbourne, with Canadian producer Mark Howard – (Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, U2, Willie Nelson, Neil Yong, REM), and beloved ARIA Award-winning Australian producer, Chris Thompson. ‘Up All Night’ debuted at #3 on the ARIA charts and won four ARIA Awards for Best Blues and Roots Album, Best Independent Album, Engineer of The Year and Producer of The Year for Chris Thompson.

‘London Still’ was voted in at #3 on the triple J Hottest 100, and ‘Up All Night’ reached double platinum certification.

2003 was an unforgettable year for the band comprising of sold-out international headline tours, being the first Australian band to play New Orleans Jazz Festival, touring with Bob Dylan in Australia and the USA and being named in Rolling Stone’s ‘Moments that Changed the History of Rock and Roll’ story, that citied their independence and mainstream success as a game changer for musicians in the future.

The rest, as they say, is history to be read and to be written!

The Waifs continue to forge a proudly independent path 30 years on and show no sign of slowing down. They look forward to seeing you all out on the road to welcome you back or invite you into Waif World!

Culture Club is one of the most influential bands of all time, and we Aussies can’t get enough of them! They’ve sold out arenas since the 80s and their hits like Karma Chameleon, Do You Really Want To Hurt Me, and Time (Clock of the Heart) are still giving us all the feels. And let’s not forget their superstar front man, Boy George, who stole our hearts as our favourite coach on The Voice in 2017.

But that’s not all, folks! Berlin will be bringing their electrifying artistry to the stage as well. With hits like Sex (I’m A…), The Metro, and Take My Breath Away (you know, the one from Top Gun that makes you want to slow dance with your crush), they’re sure to get the crowd pumped and nostalgic for the good ol’ days.

Terri Nunn from Berlin couldn’t contain her excitement, saying, “We are OVER THE MOON to be joining Culture Club on this tour! We absolutely love Australia and its amazing people. Can’t wait to see you!” So, don’t miss out on this totally epic event, get your tickets before they sell out and let’s party like it’s 1985!

Mallrat announces national Australian tour for 2023

Australian indie pop sensation Mallrat has just wrapped up a hugely successful tour of the country as part of the Laneway Festival and is now gearing up for a handful of exciting headline shows in May 2023. These shows are in celebration of her debut album, Butterfly Blue, which was released in May 2022 to critical acclaim. Mallrat will kick off her tour in Brisbane on May 12th, followed by Hindley Street Music Hall in Adelaide on May 13th, UNSW Roundhouse in Sydney on May 19th, and Forum Melbourne on May 20th. Cat & Calmell and Biblemami will be supporting her throughout the tour.

Mallrat’s latest single, a collaboration with The Chainsmokers titled ‘Wish On An Eyelash, Pt. 2‘, has been a massive hit, and the album’s opening track, ‘Wish On An Eyelash‘, has become the most popular song on Butterfly Blue. The album features other hit singles such as ‘Rockstar‘, ‘Your Love‘, ‘Surprise Me‘ (feat. Azealia Banks), and ‘Teeth‘.

Mallrat’s regional tour at the end of 2022 was a massive success, with shows in Darwin, Airlie Beach, Cairns, Townsville, Ballarat, and various other locations. She finished the year with a performance at Hobart UniBar.

Mallrat has also been making waves in the industry by calling out the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) for gender imbalance among the nominees for their 2022 awards. ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd responded to Mallrat, acknowledging the under-representation of non-male artists and vowing to do better. Mallrat’s dedication to creating an inclusive and diverse music industry is just one of the many reasons why she’s a rising star to keep an eye on.

Mallrat’s 2023 Australian tour dates are:

MAY:
Friday 12 – Brisbane, Fortitude Music Hall
Saturday 13 – Adelaide, Hindley Street Music Hall
Friday 19 – Sydney, UNSW Roundhouse
Saturday 20 – Melbourne, Forum

In Hearts Wake Announce Decade Of Divination Tour With Special Guests

The cards are well and truly in our favour in 2023, with Australian heavy weights In Hearts Wake revealing the Decade of Divination Tour, an extra-special run of shows this April and May celebrating the album that started it all back in 2012. Hitting stages this Autumn around the country and along for the ride will be American hardcore punks Stray From The Path, and local legends The Gloom In The Corner and Diamond Construct.

Releasing their game-changing debut album Divination back in 2012, the tarot-inspired 11 tracks from In Hearts Wake a decade ago would prove a winning hand for the Byron Bay-based metalcore icons. Praised for its memorable breakdowns, melodic hooks, taut execution and a sea of features, including Parkway Drive‘s Winston McCall and former Northlane vocalist Adrian Fitipaldes, Divination remains both a fan-favourite and a vessel to capture future fans in one unforgettable package. All killer, no filler and a watershed moment for the band themselves, Divination peaked at #27 on the ARIA charts, setting the stage for a horde of headline shows, international tours and appearances at Soundwave Festival and beyond for In Hearts Wake.

“I guess in some way, it was always on the cards! Excited to finally play this album front to back as well as other hits!!” shares the band of the upcoming Decade of Divination Tour. “Come celebrate the album that paved the way for our future. Who better to join us than our friends in Stray From The Path, The Gloom In The Corner and Diamond Construct. This tour will only happen once.”

New York hardcore heroes Stray From The Path formed at the turn of the century, boasting the ferocious spirit of Rage Against The Machine alongside socially-conscious lyricism and an unwavering dedication to grooves, technicality and razor-sharp riffs. With previous live appearances under their belts alongside Architects, Every Time I Die, Underoath, Comeback Kid and many more, and a new album Euthanasia up their sleeves, Stray From The Path never stray from what they do best in a live setting, and 2023 is set to deliver even more uncompromising and thunderous sets.

Melbourne’s finest purveyors of “cinema-core”, The Gloom In The Corner‘s deliciously dark star continues to rise. Coming off the back of their biggest year to date as a band, 2022 saw The Gloom In The Corner unleash a brand new album, the meticulously crafted Trinity, alongside appearances at Good Things Festival, a guest host on triple j’s The Racket and clocking over 2.6 million streams on Spotify. Hell hath no fury like a band in their prime, and a live show from The Gloom In The Corner is something to strap into and prepare for the ride of your life.

Balancing aggression with fresh and complex modernity, Diamond Construct draw inspiration from the likes of Northlane, Architects and Meshuggah; but with their own unique spin. Hailing from Taree in New South Wales, Diamond Construct splice metalcore, djent and EDM wizardry, with their 2020 single Psychosis claiming just over 930K streams on Spotify. Never sonically stagnant and boasting an electrifying live set, Diamond Construct recently joined Void Of Vision for a ten-date Australian tour, alongside The Beautiful Monument
