Good Neighbours Announce Debut Australia Shows For This June

British viral wunderkinds Good Neighbours today announce their debut Australian shows this June.

The duo kick off their tour at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on Tuesday June 25 before heading to Brisbane’s Outpost on Thursday June 27 and concluding at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Saturday June 29.

Tickets for all shows go on sale 10am this Friday 10th May.

For complete tour and ticket information visit livenation.com.au.

Good Neighbours AKA Scott and Oli leapt onto the global scene from their East London studio in January of this year with debut single and viral sensation Home – a tender yet triumphant track that has since racked up over 160 million streams, peaked at number 21 in the ARIA Singles Chart and received extensive radio play across the country. The boys have since followed up with the equally infectious Keep It Up, with plenty more releases on the horizon.

A band born out of small towns and spare time, Good Neighbours first started out of Scott and Oli’s desire to make something positive and unpolished in a music scene where everything felt mellow and intimate. Throughout 2023, they began making music for the love of it with an urge to rekindle early 2000’s sounds of the likes of Passion Pit and MGMT, a nod to classic songwriting and raucous production and inspiration from A24, friendship, and a cinematic approach to making music.

Good Neighbours are wasting no time capturing the world’s attention – don’t miss their exciting debut shows down under.

Reliqa Release Video For New Single ‘Dying Light’. Debut Album ‘Secrets Of The Future’ Due Out Friday 31 May

RELIQA
RELEASE VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE
DYING LIGHT

DEBUT ALBUMSECRETS OF THE FUTURE
DUE OUT FRIDAY 31 MAY

TOURING NATIONALLY THIS JUNE

Fast-rising Australian metallers Reliqa have released a video for their new single, Dying Light, the third cut to be taken from their upcoming debut album, Secrets of the Future, which sees a 31st May release via Greyscale Records and Nuclear Blast Records.

Vocalist Monique Pym comments: “Dying Light is your last taste of the album before we go full send on May 31st. This one is all about the attitude – it’s got a level of sass and femininity that we haven’t explored before, with a dirty, riffy groove to keep it grounded. I think this song really completes the picture alongside Terminal and Killstar for how many diverse kinds of sounds we’ve managed to pack into the record.”

A lush, diverse and sci-fi-hued collection of songs that traverse fleeting moments of the human experience, Secrets of the Future also possesses a melting pot of stylistic inspiration, with elements spanning melodic metalcore through to contemporary rap, K-Pop, J-Metal, atmospheric pop, modern progressive metal as well as more traditional rock and metal.

With Secrets of the Future, Reliqa aren’t merely gazing at what’s to come; instead, they conjure it with poise and finesse, unpacking a rich and vivid tapestry that explores political injustice on tracks like Killstar (The Cold World), finding power in femininity on Sariah, as well as oscillating spotlights on the inner push-and-pull between protest and acceptance of reality.

Defying genre labels and harnessing their potent sonic identity in the heavy music landscape over the years, Reliqa have evolved from being “ones to watch” into an act destined for genuine greatness.

Whether dazzling onstage supporting the likes of Spiritbox, Halestorm, Sevendust, BABYMETAL or Northlane, whipping festival crowds into a frenzy or headlining their own shows, Reliqa never cease to enamour in a live setting alongside multiple singles commanding over 2 million individual streams, including Doomed and Mr. Magic.

Most recently flexing their nuanced take on heavy modernity with their 2022 EP I Don’t Know What I Am, Reliqa brandished dark grooves, layered soundscapes, electronic flourishes and more. I Don’t Know What I Am may have initially stemmed from the group themselves and the broader music industry being unable to categorise Reliqa‘s unique and immersive stylings; but ultimately, it’s the group’s bold and boundless sense of self that radically sets Reliqa apart from your standard heavy act.

Facing the future to their impending new album and fresh off supporting American rock powerhouses Halesform for their Knotfest Australia 2024 headline sideshows, Reliqa will embark on their Secrets Of The Future Tour this June, with three headline shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney alongside supports RinRin, as well as a performance supporting Caligula’s Horse in Adelaide and an appearance at Never Had So Much Fun in Gosford alongside RedHook, Tiali and many more.

In 2024, the secret is out, the future is now; and its name is Reliqa.

With a career spanning over three decades, Strong continues to captivate audiences, selling out shows wherever he goes, with his soulful performances and dynamic presence and breathing nostalgia into such world-wide hits from the Soundtrack such as ‘Mustang Sally’, ‘Take Me to A River’, ‘Chain of Fools’, ‘Take Me to The River’ and More

THE COMMITMENTS was a film which captured many a phenomenon, though none more resounding than the talents of ANDREW STRONG. It was a dive into the gritty underground scene of Northside Dublin in the 1980s, one highlighted by a time of social unrest.

A huge commercial success in its own right; THE COMMITMENTS soundtrack spent 51 weeks in the ARIA Top 40 peaking at #1. It has sold well over 12 million copies world-wide and collected a string of major awards including 4 BAFTAS’s and a Grammy nomination.

“Nothing is better than seeing an awesome singer backed by a big six-piece band who were super tight and had all the moves and grooves” (Hi Fi Way)

“Andrew Strong’s voice, as powerful as it was in ‘The Commitments’ over two decades ago, has aged like fine whiskey on oak, delivering a soulful and unforgettable performance” (100% Rock)

Female Fronted CineMetal Discovery Ammify Signs Deal With International Label Wormholedeath

Emerging West Australian outfit Ammify has announced that they have signed with Italian-based metal label, Wormholedeath, who will oversee global marketing and digital distribution for their forthcoming debut album, Lost, Not Hiding.

Featuring the musical pairing of Ammy Phoenix (vocals/lyrics) and Pete Renzullo (music/production) Lost, Not Hiding makes its way through the heavier genres. Still, the duo has themselves described it best as CineMetal.

“I am so excited that Wormholedeath is taking us on as a band!” says Ammy.

“I have never been more proud of any project as I am of Ammify, and I am so happy that thanks to Wormholedeath, we get to put it out for people to hear. There’s nothing quite like being able to share a piece of yourself like this and I really hope it makes people feel understood in a way they really need to be.”

The cinematic lyrics and crushing soundscapes of Lost, Not Hiding speak like a song cycle of those who have been beaten down by life, by love, by relationships and by society… but not broken. And clearly resolute.

That it is the first album from Ammy and Pete is beyond impressive, the deep artistic connection between the two already speaks to the ages.

Part of the Warner Music and Sony Orchard Group, Wormholedeath has offices through Europe, the US, Japan, and Australia, distributing worldwide metal music, gothic metal, symphonic metal, and thrash metal.

“They said it was a very powerful album and they mentioned Ammy’s voice, of course,” Pete says. “They were just very impressed that the style was quite unique. One of the guys said that we’ve managed to find our own universe and that of the artists they’ve previously signed, nothing like this has come across before.

“Ultimately for me, the biggest thing about getting signed to a label is that they see what we have created here, which was essentially a passion project. As Ammy and I were writing the album we were saying, ‘There’s something about this’. The fact that an international label has found value in this is really exciting and just so promising.”

“Lost, Not Hiding” is released internationally by Wormholedeath on June 14th, 2024.

LA Alt-Punks Death Lens Unveil New Album ‘Cold World’

LA Alt-Punks Death Lens Unveil New Album
Cold World
Out Now Via Epitaph Records

With listeners inhabiting a current cold world, the mantra-like lyrics serve as an inspiration to refuel the hope of those who find it lost, backed by infectious vocal harmonies, heavy punk drumbeats, and fuzzed shoegaze-leaning guitar melodies.”Remezcla

““Cold World” finds the band in mid-tempo post-hardcore/alt-rock territory, balancing out their punk roots with woozy textures and a sticky chorus…” – BrooklynVegan

Today, LA based Death Lens – the five “Brown boys from La Puente” – are releasing their sophomore album ‘Cold World’ out now digitally and physically via Epitaph Records. Enlisting the help of their first producer, NYC based Brett Romnes (Hot Mulligan, Mom Jeans), the new record documents an elevation of their sound transmuted into matured and brawny post-hardcore with lyrics that show a dedication to social justice and their community.

LISTEN TO ‘COLD WORLD’ HERE

We’re all unified in the way we think, we all believe in a fair system for all to live without struggle and with a reasonable cost of living,” they said in a collective statement. “We side strongly with socialist ideals proudly. We’re also very pro Latino and pushing heavier to see more Hispanic bands up on stage, pro LGBTQ, pro-immigration and everything in between.” Led by the rhythmic bark of frontman Bryan Torres and backed by the simmering guitars of Jhon Reyes and Matt Silva, their rhythms are held together by bassist Eduardo Contreras and drummer Tony Rangel.

Growing up as minorities 20 miles east of Los Angeles with constant harassment by police and heavy gang violence, Death Lens faced many risk factors that could’ve led them astray from this moment. Their paths could have gone other ways, but they’ve chosen positivity and strive to be a light for their communities, their fans and each other.

In their uplifting lead single and title track, “mantra-like lyrics serve as an inspiration to refuel the hope of those who find it lost,” according to Remezcla. Their latest single, anthemic call to action “Disturb The Peace”, was considered by AltPressa scorching, hard-hitting punk song, meant to mirror the band’s daily lives as POC in a country that often assumes the worst.”

After touring the US extensively with the likes of Militarie Gun, Wavves, and Together Pangea, this month the band will embark on a two-month European tour kicking off on May 19th.
