The band, comprising Mikaila Delgado, Teddie Winder-Haron, and Henry Beard, engages a new and confident creative rhythm whilst showcasing a powerful blend of sounds that speak to the fun pop-punk essence of early Yours Truly material.

TREMONTI
To Release Sixth Studio Album, The End Will Show Us How, on Jan 10
New Music Video for Debut Single “Just Too Much” Out Now

With a musical catalog that includes 18 previously released full length albums from his work with Creed, Alter Bridge and various solo endeavors, world-renowned guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Mark Tremonti is back with his sixth album from his solo band, TREMONTI.

The new album, entitled The End Will Show Us How, is scheduled for global release on January 10, 2025 via longtime partner, Napalm Records.

Mark Tremonti is back with a collection of 12 original compositions that continues his musical evolution while showcasing his ability to write memorable songs – something he has done for nearly three decades. Mark is backed in TREMONTI by Eric Friedman (guitars), Tanner Keegan (bass) and Ryan Bennett (drums). Each song on The End Will Show Us How will take the listener on a journey as Mark set out to create an album of a dozen individual compositions each unique from the other.

Debut single “Just Too Much” is a perfect example of this. The song opens with a driving guitar riff – the basis for the entire song – as Mark delivers the message to keep pushing forward no matter what adversity is in front of you. An official music video for the single directed by J.T. Ibanez (Sevendust) can be seen here!

Tremonti’s musicianship and songwriting is on full display on each song on The End Will Show Us How. Tracks like the opener “The Mother, The Earth and I,” the thought provoking “It’s Not Over” and the epic closer “All The Wicked Things” show that Mark continues to create compositions that continue to engage audiences – both old and new fans alike. “Nails” is a musical idea that Mark has had for years and finally found the inspiration to complete. “Tomorrow We Will Fail” is an inspirational piece that talks about not putting off until tomorrow something you can conquer today. “Now That I’ve Made It” is a message for anyone who has ever had anyone doubt them and try to hold them back from following their dreams. The End Will Show Us Howwas produced by longtime friend and collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette – the producer Mark has worked with exclusively since 2007.

After three decades, 18 full-length albums, and thousands of shows, Mark Tremonti continues to relentlessly push himself as a guitarist, a vocalist, and a songwriter, above all. This unstoppable drive has underscored his catalog earmarked by a GRAMMY® Award, cumulative streams in the billions, and total sales of 60 million units worldwide across his inexhaustible output with Creed, Alter Bridge, and solo band TREMONTI. Distinguished as Guitar World’s “Guitarist of the Decade, selected as a flagship PRS endorsee, and celebrated on the covers of numerous publications worldwide, he approaches the guitar with an insatiable curiosity and innate need to create. At the same time, he constantly stretches his voice, reaching new heights with each subsequent project.

His voice, writing, and playing have supercharged Tremonti as a force in its own right. The band has delivered a string of celebrated releases, including All I Was [2012], Cauterize[2015], Dust [2016], A Dying Machine [2019] accompanied by an acclaimed novel of the same name co-written by Mark with John Shirley, and Marching In Time [2021]. Earning acclaim, KERRANG! hailed the latter as “another worthy chapter in its creator’s well-populated book, and American Songwriter praised how “Marching In Time is structured around denser melodies and reflective epistles prodding around chunkier riffs.” Loudwire applauded the title track as “hypnotically epic, and Guitar World readers voted “Now and Forever” as “The Best Riff of 2021. Now, he levels up all around on his 19th overall LP and sixth TREMONTI full-length, The End Will Show Us How[Napalm Records].

THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT New Album Greetings From Suffocate City, Coming Sept 13 Release Industrial-Tinged Track “ Blood Mother”

Look for emo rock outfit The Funeral Portrait to release their second full-length album
Greetings From Suffocate City via Better Noise Music on September 13.

The album’s story arc is told across its 14 tracks (see listing below) which blends religious and violent imagery. It’s a thrilling and evocative mix of the holy and unholy, the sacred and sacrilege. Guest appearances include Bert McCracken of The Used, Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, DannyWorsnop of Asking Alexandria and Eva Under Fire.

Pre-orders for Greetings From Suffocate City are available via digital download, CD, and vinyl
https://thefuneralportrait.ffm.to/gfsc

“This album is a statement,” says vocalist Lee Jennings. “Its title reflects our conviction, respect, and most importantly, DEVOTION to its message. This record talks of love and loss. That the people we love, the passions we dedicate ourselves to, the culture we are surrounded by, and the society we partake in, will all inevitably hurt us. Yet through the pain and struggle of it all,” he adds, “we still choose to love, unabashedly, even when it kills us. It is a warning of the challenges life will present us all with and a universal truth that suffering is inherent in all joy.”

The Funeral Portrait have just released a new industrial-tinged track, “Blood Mother.” Jennings says, “This southern-fried riff machine brings a low, pulsing energy to the record. It harks on modern medication and the fear of risking losing your personality and sense of self once prescribed.”

[Album Review] Dog – Self Titled

How good is finding incredible bands in your own local underground scene? That is where you find musicians writing for the love of playing and a passion for art, you find the people that just write songs cause that’s what they are feeling, and you can’t find a band around with more feel in their riffs than Bendigo’s, Dog.

Meet Dog, stoner desert sludge groove metal rock, and probably some more adjectives, I don’t know exactly what it is labeled but goddamn, these 6 tracks on their first self-titled album took me on an audial journey that I didn’t even realise was coming. From start to finish, its heavy, rhythmic droning arrangements kept me hypnotized and then the next thing I knew, it was over, and of course I had to start it again, what else was a man to do? The riffs throughout each track repeat but I never found that I got bored or tired of hearing them, the changing of the drum patterns under each riff progression keep the listener engaged and interested to hear the next.

Dog is straight from the underground; its rough, its raw, its ambient, if you are after some sort of clean-cut rock/metal album, this probably won’t be for you but if you are into the likes of Clutch style riffs, Orange Goblin heavy sludge tones and plenty of reverb in your vocals, then look no further, this is what you need.

This album is stacked full of sludgy, fuzz driven tracks that take a life of their own. These songs sound completely natural, like they recorded a jam session that just happened out of the blue. Their engineer has done well to keep the ambience alive in recording these tracks, with so many little melodies sprinkled throughout that add to the feel still being caught in the mix, it’s kept the live organic sound but with a nicely cleaned edge to bring this album together.

If you are going to only give one song a listen off this short album, make it Like Embers. This track sums up’ Dog s sound nicely, it has all the elements of every other song, but brings the tempo up a bit in comparison. The vocal style of Like Embers sounds like he is singing in pain, he adds an extra bit of grit to his voice, they also add a nice little tremolo style guitar solo into the mix for good measure. My favourite part of Dog’s overall sound would be their bass, it has this filthy fuzz driven sound that holds everything together, not that I’m biased towards the bass, but this is a killer bass tone! Bassists take note!

I enjoy finding underground albums, they feel like they have a life of their own. They sound original, fresh, you can hear the heart of the musicians. That’s what you will find in Dog, these guys are just playing to what they feel, the riffs repeats, the melodies soar, and the drums will hold you there in the moment, It’s all in the feeling.

Take a chance on the underground, you never know what you may find once you start looking into it, while there could be a lot of hard listens in your local scene, you can come across something different and standout, like Dog.

Mushroomhead – Reveals Dark Third Single “We Don’t Care”

MUSHROOMHEAD
Reveals Dark Third Single “We Don’t Care”

Ninth Studio Album, Call The Devil, out This Friday, August 9 via Napalm Records

The wait is almost over – American masked metal masters MUSHROOMHEAD will release their ninth studio album, Call The Devil, this Friday, August 9, 2024 via Napalm Records! In celebration of this week’s album release and their European tour kickoff, the band has revealed their ultra-dark third single, entitled “We Don’t Care”. The track proves to be a future live favorite with its chanting chorus and earworm hook!

30 years into their groundbreaking history, MUSHROOMHEAD shows no signs of slowing down, proving innovative without losing sight of their trademark sound and imagery.

Listen to “We Don’t Care”

https://youtu.be/WeQ6gQF366o

Returning after a 12 year hiatus, longtime guitarist Dave “Gravy” Felton – who performed on several of the band’s biggest albums and is credited as a primary songwriter on classic anthems like “Along The Way”, “Sun Doesn’t Rise” and “The Dream Is Over” – contributes his trademark skills to two Call The Devil album tracks. The album once again features production by band mastermind/drummer Steve “Skinny” Felton, as well as the return of Matt Wallace (Faith No More, 3 Doors Down) on mixing, also recognized for his work on MUSHROOMHEAD’s iconic album XIII. The album is also the band’s first to feature mastering from Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Epica, Arch Enemy).

Bursting with ominous intensity, album opener “Eye To Eye” launches with warning sirens and a grooving riff provided by Gravy, proving the band wastes zero time with filler on Call The Devil. Eclectic tracks like the emotive, surprisingly jazzy anthem “Emptiness”, dramatic carnival creeper “UIOP (A Final Reprieve)” and haunting “Hallelucination” showcase the more experimental side of MUSHROOMHEAD, while heavy burners such as the gripping “Prepackaged”, charging and melodic “Hideous” and aggressive drum-forward “Torn In Two” cement the band’s lauded metal renown. Featuring guitar work and writing from Gravy, the winding, dark “We Don’t Care” proves to be a future live favorite with its chanting chorus and earworm hook as vocalists Steve Rauckhorst and Jackie LaPonza split leadership duties. Call The Devil brings the cinematic, signature style of musical mastermind and bassist/keyboardist Ryan “Dr. F” Farrell to the forefront, exploring piano-driven balladic auras and compelling with eerily Vaudevillian three-part vocal achievements on songs like “Decomposition”, “Grand Gesture” and “Shame In A Basket”, eventually veering into welcomed bizarre territory with album closer “Doom Goose”.

Dropkick Murphys Sell Out Sydney Show & Add 2nd Show To Australian Tour With Alkaline Trio.

Boston’s rock ‘n’ roll underdogs turned champions DROPKICK MURPHYS and CHICAGO’s rock canons ALKALINE TRIO have added a 2nd show in Sydney on Thursday 21 November at the Roundhouse which will see DROPKICK MURPHYS play a completely different set from night one.

Tickets for the 2nd and final Sydney show are on sale now. Tickets for the Brisbane show are running low, so make sure you grab yours today to avoid disappointment.

This marks DROPKICK MURPHY‘s return to Australia for the first time since last appearing at Good Things Festival in 2018 and ALKALINE TRIO‘s first Australian shows in 10 years!

Since 1996, DROPKICK MURPHYS have created the kind of music that’s meant to be chanted at last call, in packed arenas, and during the fourth quarter, third period, or ninth inning of a comeback rally. Their celebrated discography includes four consecutive Billboard top 10 album debuts (Turn Up That Dial, 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory, Signed and Sealed in Blood, Going Out In Style), along with 2005’s Certified-Gold album The Warrior’s Code featuring the double platinum classic I’m Shipping Up To Boston. DROPKICK MURPHYS’ music has generated half-a-billion streams, they’ve quietly moved 8 million-plus units worldwide and the band has sold out gigs on multiple continents.

DROPKICK MURPHYS returned to fully electric performances in late 2023 following a pair of critically acclaimed acoustic albums – 2022’s This Machine Still Kills Fascists and 2023’s Okemah Rising – interpreting the work of Woody Guthrie for a new generation. The albums, recorded in Tulsa with trusted collaborator and producer Ted Hutt, exposed the band to new audiences through airplay on stations like SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country, coverage in outlets such as Rolling Stone Country, Paste, CNN, Americana Highways and SPIN, and via DROPKICK MURPHYS’ first-ever acoustic, reserved-seating theater tour in 2022.

Their touring plans for the remainder of the year include a series of festival dates after a run of European festival dates between now and July. They’ll then return to North America and Canada for Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival, Newport Folk Festival, New York State Fair, Envol et Macadam, Music 4 Cancer, Louder Than Life and Aftershock before their string of Australian shows.

In more than 25 years together, ALKALINE TRIO have delivered urgent punk blasts with a dark, driving edge that helped them remain commercially viable without sacrificing their raucous spirit and created their own little universe in their songs with a few short steps away from armageddon. Their music has been a reliable black mirror of reality. Slowly ascending through the Warped Tour ranks into the early 2000s, they reached the Billboard Top 20 with 2003’s mainstream breakthrough Good Mourning. They hit a peak with their seventh set This Addiction, which topped the US rock, alternative, and indie charts in 2010.

Brought together in late 1996 by heartbreak, angst, and the companionship of drinking. They started making a name for themselves in the Midwest with their emotion-fueled, angst-ridden, dark pop-punk and released their full-length debut in 1998 with Goddamnit!, an album whose heartbreak tales and anti-cop rants earned a modest following.

They kicked off the year with the release of their monumental tenth album, Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs. It’s been five years since the beloved punk stalwarts have released an album and to commemorate hitting the big ten milestone, they went back to basics stripping their sound down to the bare essentials of the sonic identity that endeared them to a generation of punk fans. They enlisted Grammy-winning producer Cameron Webb and spent several weeks holed up at Studio 606 in Northridge, California, the private recording space owned by Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters. With more than two decades and ten records under their belts, ALKALINE TRIO’s legacy in the rock canon, as well as their influence on their genre, is undeniable.

2024 will undeniably declare punk rock is not dead – be sure to see DROPKICK MURPHYS and ALKALINE TRIO this Novemberwhen they bring their explosive, high energy live shows down under.

RAVEN Announce November 2024 Hellfire Australian Tour

Hardline Media are proud to announce the return of the Madmen of the NWOBHM scene, RAVEN!

After a successful run back in 2019 alongside 2 other legendary NWOBHM bands GIRLSCHOOL and TANK, the lads are heading back down under.

RAVEN are that rare thing in music, true originals – cut these guys with a razor and they will BLEED true heavy metal – a more intense live band does not exist on this planet! Hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne in North-East England back in 1974, the brothers Gallagher cut their teeth playing the pubs & clubs until solidifying their line up in 1980 with drummer Rob Hunter.

The trio went on to release three of the most influential metal albums of the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) inspiring every band of that era and beyond. Basically, without RAVEN you just would not have thrash/speed metal…. after all, the band did give Metallica & Anthrax their first tours!

Following a tumultuous move to the USA, deals with Atlantic Records, indentured servitude and commercialism, Rob left the band in 1987 to be replaced by drummer extraordinaire Joe Hasselvander, who had made his name in cult doom band Pentagram, Savoy Brown and his own solo projects, adding a new dimension to the band.

In 2001, guitarist Mark Gallagher was involved in a near fatal accident – but fought his way back from the brink and the band proved they were stronger than ever! This renewed spirit and attitude was reflected in the title of their 2010 album WALK THROUGH FIRE and in the career overview DVD ROCK UNTIL YOU DROP.

2014 found the band opening for Metallica (the band that Raven took on their first tour back in 1983) in Sao Paulo in front of 70,000 fans and completing their finest album to date – ExtermiNationwhich was released to universal acclaim from fans & critics alike in 2015!

After a serious heart attack in May 2017 Joe Hasselvander has had to unfortunately relinquish the drum stool….taking over drum duties is the phenomenal Mike Heller (Fear Factory, Malignancy) who has immediately injected high energy into the band!

In a cynical musical landscape these days, where bands are not “gangs “but faceless corporations, RAVEN are a band that are REAL not FAKE – and proud of it!

Check them out right here, featuring live footage from their show at Melbourne in 2019

NAILS Debut New Single ‘Lacking The Ability To Process Empathy’ + New Album EVERY BRIDGE BURNING Out Aug 30th

Anticipation continues as California masters of brutal aggression NAILS reveal the latest single, ‘Lacking The Ability To Process Empathy’, from the band’s long-awaited, 4th full-length album, Every Bridge Burning, due out August 30th from Nuclear Blast Records.

Following the catastrophic tracks Give Me The Painkiller and Imposing Will’, NAILS unleashes a 2+ minute, groove-laden song that seethes with contempt and disdain.

Every Bridge Burning was produced by Kurt Ballou at God City Studio and is adorned with aptly diabolic artwork by Jef Whitehead. Their first record in 8 years features 10 tracks of unyielding, violence that can only be described as the sound of NAILS.

ABOUT NAILS:

For the first time in over 8 years, the blistering assault on our nervous system that can only be described as the sound of NAILS, has reemerged. With Carlos Cruz on drums, Andrew Solis on Bass, Shelby Lermo on Guitars, and Todd Jones on guitar & vocals, the upcoming studio album, EVERY BRIDGE BURNING, will be revealed August 30th, 2024 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The album artwork, a creation by Jef Whitehead, serves as a visual prelude to the auditory chaos—a stark representation of the aural brutality that NAILS delivers.

Recording for the album commenced in Massachusetts at God City Studio with Kurt Ballou (of CONVERGE), whose contribution is integral to the NAILS sound, as elucidated by Jones: “we’ve recorded every album with Kurt. He’s such an important ingredient as to how we present our music. When our fans want to hear NAILS, they want to hear something that is through the filter of Kurt’s engineering.

EVERY BRIDGE BURNINGwas born out of unwavering dedication to NAILS fans and the underground music scene. It echoes their commitment to authenticity and raw power. NAILS remains a beacon of rebellion and resilience in a world hungry for genuine expression. With no shortage of effort or meticulous song arrangement, the time has arrived to become engulfed in the ferocity of NAILS once again as EVERY BRIDGE BURNING unveils a new, but familiar chapter in extreme music.

This band was modelled after some of my favourite bands; the type of bands where, when they put out an album, you know what it’s going to sound like,” describes Jones, “it’s the delivery of the expectation.” The sensory destroying musical onslaught that we’ve all been missing is back. NAILS is Todd Jones, Carlos Cruz, Andrew Solis, and Shelby Lermo.
