Australia’s AVERSIONS CROWN Announce Their New EP, A VOICE FROM THE OUTER DARK Out August 5th + Watch The Music Video For The Title Track

Emerging from Brisbane’s seething metal underground, AVERSIONS CROWN returns from the void with A Voice From The Outer Dark. The EP which will be released on August 5th via Nuclear Blast Records is a three-track statement of renewed intent, brutal evolution, and total annihilation. Marking the band’s first new material in several years, the EP represents a bold new chapter in both sound and vision.

Today, the band release a music video for the thunderous first track and title of the album, ‘A Voice From The Outer Dark’. Watch the Matrix-esque music video directed by Colin Jeffs, here:

AVERSIONS CROWN comments, “This song marks the beginning of a new chapter for us. We’ve been quiet for a few years now, but that silence was the calm before something much heavier. A Voice From The Outer Dark is the first signal that we’re back, and this time we’re not coming in peace.”.

A Voice From The Outer Dark captures AVERSIONS CROWN in a new phase of creative intensity. The EP distils everything the band is — and everything it’s becoming — into three tracks of sheer ferocity. Conceptually, the band continues to explore existential and cosmic horror themes, blurring the lines between science fiction and spiritual annihilation, channelling the sound of a world tearing itself apart from the inside out. The arrival of new vocalist Alex Teyen (formerly of BLACK TONGUE) signals a seismic shift.

A Voice From The Outer Dark was recorded in October 2024. It was produced by Lance Prenc and Edward SklavosPrenc was also responsible for the mixing and mastering while Sklavos handled the engineering. The cover artwork for the EP was created by Róbert A Borbás (aka Grindesign).

A Voice From The Outer Dark is the sound of a band reborn through fire, silence, and darkness — ready to reestablish their legacy and redefine deathcore in the process.

PAIN Release New Video For ‘I Am

PAIN Release New Video For ‘I Am’

PAIN havereleased their brand-new video for ‘I Am‘. The album I Am was released on May 17th 2024 via Nuclear Blast Records. Filled with anthems like ‘Don’t Wake The Dead‘ and the hit single ‘Party In My Head‘, alongside atmospheric tracks such as ‘I Am‘ and ‘Fair Game,’ the album seamlessly blends uplifting catchiness with introspective moments, marking Tägtgren’s most personal and boldest work to date.

Peter Tägtgren comments: “I’m excited to see what Andrey came up with this time..

Watch the video for ‘I Am’ here: https://youtu.be/l4XA8WzPpuE

Stream/Order I Am here: https://pain.bfan.link/i-am

I Am Tracklist:

I Just Dropped By (to say goodbye)

Don’t Wake The Dead

Go With The Flow

Not For Sale

Party In My Head

I Am

Push The Pusher

The New Norm

Revolution

My Angel

Fair Game

About PAIN:

It’s 2021 and a pandemic is strangling the world – and no one seems to be having fun. Seemingly tireless music freak Peter Tägtgren couldn’t care less as he hits the jackpot with – pardon the harsh language – a fucking catchy… well, party anthem. We are of course talking about the song ‘Party in My Head’ by Tägtgren’s synth-infused metal project PAIN.

“I don’t really know what it is about ‘Party in My Head’ that made – still makes – people go crazy for it… But what I do know for sure is that the song has already been enjoyed millions and millions of times. The numbers are pretty crazy! Of course, PAIN is no stranger to writing danceable and catchy, albeit metallic shit… It’s always been in the DNA of this project. But let’s face it: if the world really needs ‘party anthems’ from a cynical geezer like me, something’s seriously wrong”, Peter laughs.

Our beloved planet may be screwed, but there still doesn’t seem to be much wrong in PAIN‘s world as 2024 ticks fast on the calendar. There simply can’t be, because PAIN‘s eagerly awaited new studio album ‘I Am‘ is soon here – yes, after eight years of devoted waiting.

“The previous record “Coming Home” came out in 2016 – and of course there was a tour after that. In 2019, I released an album called “F & M” with Rammstein singer Till Lindemann, a project I left in 2020. In 2021, it was time for my death metal band Hypocrisy to get active with a new album “Worship” – and of course we toured again. If that wasn’t enough, let’s add that there was a studio album with Joe Lynn Turner in 2022… In other words: the last eight years have passed in the blink of an eye”, Peter sighs.

“After all this, it was the perfect time for PAIN to go full force again. I felt excited to say the least. Needless to say, the success of ‘Party in My Head’ gave the album process an explosive start!”

Let’s get one thing straight: the powerful-sounding I Am is truly a versatile – if not the most versatile – musical missile in PAIN‘s rich discography. The new songs go everywhere with heavy industrial riffs, haunting melancholic vibes and groove-filled rhythms – without forgetting surprises, of course.

“There’s no boundaries with PAIN. I just get an interesting idea for a song and along the way it can turn into anything. Sometimes I also like to deliberately surprise people by following an exciting musical path where unexpected things happen”, Peter describes.

“If I had one big goal this time, it was to add more intensity and edge to the songs. “Coming Home” turned out great, but looking back now, I was maybe a little too deep into my ‘David Bowie worship’ with the orchestral stuff and the acoustic guitars. This time around, I definitely wanted more tempo, aggressiveness and an industrial atmosphere. Going back towards the old times of PAIN? Maybe a bit…”

“I Am” is also more of a family affair than ever before. My son Sebastian – also a PAIN drummer – wrote the music of ‘Revolution’ and ‘Don’t Wake the Dead’. These absorbing songs add width to an already versatile album. All in all, completing “I Am” required a lot of composing, writing, thinking, experimenting, doing and re-doing. It was a long and sometimes challenging process, but never painful!”

Speaking of surprises… What song will give fans the biggest wow effect this time?

“It must be ‘Go With the Flow’. I dare to insist that when it starts rolling, even the deep connoisseurs of PAIN music are wondering what the heck is going on here. I would say it’s my ‘Depeche Mode in the 80s’ song'”, Peter laughs.

“Lyrically, ‘Go With the Flow’ represents a slightly brighter moment in the darkness. I always tend to think that everything is going to hell, but with this song I tell myself, ‘come on dude, let things be for once and go with the flow’.”

There may be these rare rays of light from the beacon, but darkness still prevails.

“The album’s title track starts with the line ‘there’s no hope in the valley of death’. And if I look at the lyrics, I could dig up a lot other examples of similar sinister moods. But hey, a sarcastic guy like me and such gloomy times we live in… Are you expecting some sunny faces here? Well, sunny or not, PAIN is going to be busy for the foreseeable future. There will be a lot of touring to support the record. Summer festivals, extensive tours here and there and more”, Peter says.

“And what about the future anyway? Ask me again in eight years and there have been a few studio albums from different bands, a lot of gigs and something else. Yes, I am what “I Am”…”

BEHEMOTH Release Video For ‘Sowing Salt’ + New Album THE SHIT OV GOD Is Out Now

BEHEMOTH Release Video For ‘Sowing Salt’ + New Album
THE SHIT OV GOD Is Out Now

To celebrate the release of their critically acclaimed new studio album, The Shit Ov God, which is out today, Poland’s kings of extreme metal, BEHEMOTH, have unleashed a stunning music video for their latest single, ‘Sowing Salt‘.

NERGAL added:
Sowing Salt‘ is arguably one of the most brutal compositions in Behemoth’s catalogue to date. Unrelenting. Unapologetic. Absolute. The video was directed by Zev Deans, with whom we’ve had the pleasure to collaborate before. He’s crafted a visual that powerfully completes the song — musically and lyrically. And the lyrics? Just as radical and confrontational as music itself.

With the post-apocalyptic and retro-futuristic imagery that dominates the clip, BEHEMOTH enter new territory without sacrificing the visual leitmotif and thematic virulence they have established over the course of their more than three-decade-long career. Scroll down to watch the video for ‘Sowing Salt‘ below.

And don’t forget to check out The Shit Ov GodBEHEMOTH‘s most inflammatory and extreme record to date!

NERGAL commented:
“Nearly 35 years in, thirteen albums deep — that’s a hell of a journey. And now, with full honesty and open veins, we give you this: The Shit Ov God is upon you. The new era begins as we bled for this monumental labour! Take this, all of you, eat and drink from it for this is our body given up for you!
Rejoice!”

CABAL has through the years proved themselves as one of the heaviest and most uncompromising metal acts hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark. The bands sound is visceral and destructive and aims to bring forth absolute chaos by drawing inspiration from everything from crushing death metal, contemporary metallic hardcore and metalcore to unnerving soundscapes and dark electronic music.

Since the release of their first album in 2018 the band toured most of the planet, from Europe and North America to Japan and Australia, as well as renowned festivals like, Roskilde Festival, Copenhell, Summer Slaughter, Brutal Assault and many more, and they have no intention of slowing down. All of the above combined with features from some of the modern metal scenes most prominent names like; Matt Heafy from TRIVIUM, Jamie Hails from POLARIS and Joe Bad from FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, the band has shown the world that Denmark has something to offer when it comes to bone crushing heaviness.

The band are now gearing up for the release of their 4th studio album; Everything Rots. Everything Rots is the most focused and ferocious CABAL has ever sounded, while still expanding on the sound that fans expect from the band. Ear piercing electronic parts and unsettling soundscapes fuse together with bone-rattling riffs and uncompromising breakdowns to create a sonic attack on the senses that’s sure to please and surprise any fan of extreme heaviness. Just like instrumentals the lyrics are dark and direct as they detail the cyclical nature of depression, addiction and trauma, as they work through and detail deeply scarring life experiences and invite the listeners inside a dark world were everything rots and falls apart again and again and again.

Tracks like ’Still Cursed’ dives into the struggle of dealing with depression and feeling eternally cursed, while the title track is an anthem for the generations born into a world of crushing uncertainty, that feels like it could collapse around them at any time. ’No Peace’ describes the harrowing real life ordeal of finding a dying suicide victim in the streets of Copenhagen, and powerlessly watching the life drains from their eyes. ‘Unveiled’ and ‘Forever Marked’ deals with two sides of the same experience of having an abuser close to you. One describes the intense anger and feeling of betrayal, that comes from finding out that someone you considered family could commit such acts, while the other the feeling of guilt in knowing that this happened so close to you without you catching on to it.

The album will be released through Nuclear Blast in April 2025 and like a rabid hell hound on a chain, this album is foaming at the mouth to be released and unleash the rot upon the world.

ABOUT KREATOR

Decades into their game-changing career, German metal legends Kreator find themselves more successful and influential than ever. They’ve stuck to their guns, weathered the trends and outlasted their peers – never once wavering from the ferocious noise that excited them as teens. If anything, that thirst for sonic warfare is just as strong, if not stronger, today. Where others have suffered from creative malnourishment and artistic uncertainty, something which even metal’s biggest and best are prone to, Kreator have always charged full steam ahead – thanks to the red-eyed conviction and fearless determination of founding singer and guitarist Miland ‘Mille’ Petrozza. On 1985 debut Endless Pain, the Essen innovators created the template for extreme noise to come, fusing elements of thrash and black metal in ways that had never been heard before. Their sophomore album of the following year, Pleasure To Kill, became one of the landmark albums of 1986 – making metal history alongside key releases from Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth. And onwards they marched, bringing hellish anthems to the masses in every album that followed, with a track record few could ever rival.

The last decade has been a particularly exciting time for the group, with 2012’s Phantom Antichrist proving how they could embrace modern production techniques and move with the times without forsaking the underground spirit and defiance which made them a household name in the first place. Its successor, 2017’s Gods Of Violence, saw them topping the German charts for the very first time in their career, a feat virtually unheard for a band of such thunderous intensity.

They returned in 2022 with fifteenth opus Hate Über Alles – which marked their first studio album with Frédéric Leclercq (ex-Dragonforce, Sinsaenum) on bass, joining Mille, guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö and drummer Jürgen ‘Ventor’ Reil – the metal titans are once again channelling an unholy heaviness strong enough to tilt the earth off-axis.

MALEVOLENCE Release Video For New Single ‘Trenches’

Sheffield’s metal powerhouse MALEVOLENCE have unleashed their brand-new single, ‘TRENCHES,’ embodying the raw resilience and grit of their Steel City roots. This standalone track is the first glimpse of their partnership with Grammy-winning producer Josh Wilbur, known for his work with heavyweights like Lamb of God, Korn, and Gojira. Amplifying their Northern backdrop, MALEVOLENCE also collaborated with in-demand director duo Double or Nothing Productions for a Metal video debut that demonstrates their unique identity in British Metal.

Vocalist Alex Taylor comments: “Trenches is possibly the most aggressive, ignorant and direct song we have ever written. Over the last few years, we’ve been playing more in the commercial metal circuit at festivals and arenas, so we wanted to take this opportunity to remind people that we still haven’t lost sight of where we came from. The lyrics are a declaration of not needing validation or approval, and a rejection of those who never supported the journey but only show their face when you achieve some level of success.”

CABAL Release Brand New Song ‘Still Cursed’

Having recently returned from their 4th US tour and after a summer of collaborations across both electronic/industrial (Reworks EP) and rap (Sort Sommer) CABAL are back with their unique blend of industrial tinged deathcore to prove they are ‘Still Cursed‘. The single features vocalist Aaron Matts of TEN56. and is released to coincide with CABAL’s appearance on the Nordic Invasion tour with AVIANA amongst others this September.

Anyone who’s ever dealt with clinical depression knows that it’s a constant battle that isn’t just won once, but has to be battled continuously, in many cases daily and can make you feel like you’re always going one step forward and two steps back. ‘Still Cursed’ is the for everyone who’s ever felt that pain and knows how it feels to being close to giving up.
