LUCIFER Release Single ‘I Would Follow You Babe’ Feat. GRAVEYARD’S Joakim Nilsson

LUCIFER Release Single ‘I Would Follow You Babe’ Feat. GRAVEYARD’S Joakim Nilsson

The Song Will Be The Official Anthem
Of Mystic Festival 2024

Heavy rock megalith LUCIFER has teamed up with GRAVEYARD‘s Joakim Nilsson to record an English cover version of Polish rock evergreen ‘Poszlabym za toba‘ by the band Breakout, which was originally released in 1969. The song ‘I Would Follow You Babe‘ will serve as the official festival anthem of MYSTIC FESTIVAL 2024, Poland’s biggest metal festival, which is located at the scenic shipyard of Gdansk.

LUCIFER played an unforgettable show at Mystic Festival in 2023. The group’s music is an elegant tribute to the golden era of hard rock and heavy metal and the big crowd in attendance couldn’t get enough of it last year. Their friend Joakim Nilsson, frontman of the Swedish band GRAVEYARD, provides guest vocals on the track. GRAVEYARD are grand masters of psychedelic, gloomy hard rock – which they will prove once again at this year’s edition of Mystic Festival on June 7th. Both bands have recently released internationally acclaimed new albums , Lucifer V and Graveyard 6.

Picking a song from Breakout‘s repertoire has a symbolic meaning for Polish metal fans. The band was led by Tadeusz Nalepa who is considered one of the pioneers of hard rock in Poland and can therefore be called the forefather of heavy metal in that country.

LUCIFER‘s Johanna Sadonis commented:

It’s been an honour and great fun to take on this Polish classic together with Jocke for Mystic Festival. Nicke totally nailed it, making the song a very groovy Lucifer number. Jocke’s voice fits Lucifer extremely well and totally went into some sort of galactic overdrive. He killed it! I just sort of eased back into a lower register, lacing myself around the boys’ work, purposely taking a backseat here. I think this single turned out fantastic and makes me look extremely forward to this year’s festival season! Can’t wait to be back at Mystic festival again soon, too!

I Would Follow You Babe‘ by LUCIFER feat. Joakim Nilsson (GRAVEYARD) will be released as a 7-inch single (gatefold) in a limited edition of 666 copies – to be purchased only at Mystic Festival 2024.

Story Of The Year Announce 20 Years Of Page Avenue Australian Tour With Special Guests Senses Fail & Behind Crimson Eyes

Destroy All Lines Presents

STORY OF THE YEAR
CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF PAGE AVENUE

WITH SPECIAL GUESTS
SENSES FAIL
PERFORMING THEIR ALBUM ‘LET IT ENFOLD YOU’ IN FULL
AND BEHIND CRIMSON EYES

Spawning a global legacy and critical acclaim for over two decades, American rockers STORY OF THE YEAR are set to return down under this August, celebrating the 20 year anniversary of their debut album Page Avenue and performing all their greatest hits alongside special guests SENSES FAIL and BEHIND CRIMSON EYES.

Starting in Perth on August 4, this national celebration of post hardcore and alternative rock will head to Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney before closing out in Brisbane on August 11. And between STORY OF THE YEAR celebrating the anniversary of their iconic 2003 release, SENSES FAIL are also set to perform their 2004 debut album Let It Enfold You in full across the tour alongside BEHIND CRIMSON EYES flying the Aussie flag this August.

A band classed as helping to shape the post hardcore landscape, STORY OF THE YEAR blend loud guitars, singalong choruses and a permeating sense of positivity into their enduring creations. Erupting onto the scene back in 2003 via their debut album Page Avenue, which became one of the first of its kind to sell a million copies, the group would go on to tour alongside the greats of their stylistic surrounds, including Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Deftones and The Used.

Teaming up with Goldfinger’s John Feldmann to bring Page Avenue to life, STORY OF THE YEAR toured part of Warped Tour before Page Avenue‘s breakout single Until the Day I Die had even released. Praised for its additional standout singles Anthem of Our Dying Day and Sidewalks, Page Avenue would go on to reach platinum status, while also garnering praise for its layered instrumentals, candid lyricism, and infectious hooks and melodies.

Now in command of six studio albums, including In The Wake of Determination (2005), The Black Swan (2008), The Constant (2010), Wolves (2017) and their most recent 2023 full length Tear Me To Pieces, STORY OF THE YEAR have also cultivated a diehard legion of global fans over the years, with the tight-knit group dedicated to authentically connecting with their audience both through their music and dynamic live reputation. From teenagers working in a pizza shop through to hitting hard rock headliner status, STORY OF THE YEAR remain as potent as they were over two decades ago, if not moreso; and Australia is once again in their sights in 2024.

Hailing from New Jersey, SENSES FAIL emerged in the early 2000s, ultimately stamping their mark on the scene with their 2004 debut album Let It Enfold You. Blending emo and screamo elements, Let It Enfold You also boasted iconic hits Buried a Lie, Bite to Break Skin and Rum Is for Drinking, Not for Burning. Certified gold, Let It Enfold You would ultimately set the scene for ongoing successes for SENSES FAIL, with the five-piece going on to release eight studio albums and tour the globe alongside the likes of Taking Back Sunday, Silverstein, Stick To Your Guns and many more.

One of Australia’s most beloved post hardcore acts, Melbourne’s BEHIND CRIMSON EYES are well versed in welding heavy rock with elements of screamo, pop and beyond. Snagging mainstream attention courtesy of their 2006 debut album, A Revelation For Despair, BEHIND CRIMSON EYES debuted in the ARIA Albums Chart Top 50 via their maiden LP, before going on to tour with bands including Bullet For My Valentine, Artreyu, Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed. Roaring back to life in 2017 after a hiatus, Melbourne’s BEHIND CRIMSON EYES are back bigger and better than ever.

WE WISH TO INFORM YOU…

GHOST
WILL PREMIERE THEIR HIGHLY ANTICIPATED DEBUT FEATURE FILM
‘RITE HERE RITE NOW’
IN CINEMAS WORLDWIDE ON JUNE 20 & 22 ONLY

DIRECTED BY ALEX ROSS PERRY AND TOBIAS FORGE

EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK POSTER LAUNCH
TICKETS ON SALE MAY 9 AT ritehereritenow.com

STARRING: GHOST, Maralyn Facey, Alan Ursillo, Ashley McBride, Kevin “Jesus” Kaufmann
DIRECTED BY: Alex Ross Perry and Tobias Forge
PRODUCED BY: Kristen Mulderig, Rick Sales, Craig Butta and Jonas Åkerlund

Trafalgar Releasing today announced worldwide theatrical distribution plans for RITE HERE RITE NOW. The unique feature-length film combines never-before-seen 2023 concert footage of GRAMMY award-winning rock band, GHOST, with a narrative story that picks up plot threads from the band’s long-running webisode series. Directed by GHOST’s Tobias Forge, and Alex Ross Perry (Her Smell), RITE HERE RITE NOW will launch in cinemas globally on June 20 & 22 only.

Full trailer launch and cinema tickets will be available beginning Thursday, May 9. Worldwide screening details and ticket links will be revealed at ritehereritenow.com at 11pm AEST time. Fans are encouraged to sign up for further information.

Shot over the course of GHOST’s two sold-out shows at Los Angeles’ hallowed Kia Forum, RITE HERE RITE NOWfully immerses viewers in the technicolor melodrama of the vaunted live ritual that has helped to propel Sweden’s foremost theatrical rock export to GRAMMY-winning, chart-topping, arena-headlining status the world over.

RITE HERE RITE NOW is, however, so much more than a concert movie. GHOST’s debut feature film combines live performance from the two-night finale of the band’s RE-IMPERATOUR U.S.A. 2023 with a narrative story that picks up plot threads from the band’s long-running Chapters series. The result is an utterly unique phantasmagorical blend: Flesh and bone renditions of favourites from all five of GHOST’s albums as well as the RIAA platinum-certified “Mary On A Cross” and more are interwoven with the silver screen debuts of a few faces familiar to the band’s legions of fans—all interacting behind the scenes with GHOST‘s Papa Emeritus IV, as his future and fate lay in the hands of the Ministry.

Whether you’re a devoted disciple looking to relive treasured memories of the GHOST live spectacle or among the curious uninitiated, RITE HERE RITE NOW will put you right there: putting your phones down and living in the moment—as a shadow of uncertainty looms—completely spellbound and in the thrall of this bombastic yet intimate cinematic portrait of GHOST.

The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to RITE HERE RITE NOW will be released via Loma Vista Recordings. Pre-order launch and additional details will complement the film’s cinema on-sale date of May 9.

Tobias Forge explained: “Over a decade ago when GHOST got signed to Loma Vista, Tom Whalley (owner and CEO) asked what the story of the band was.
He felt telling a story was vital in order to get new fans engaged.
I said that because we were a new ‘baby’ band and more importantly we were an ANONYMOUS baby band, there wasn’t really a compelling story to tell.
Not yet anyway.
But I told him that if he wanted a story, I could come up with one.
This film is the fruit of that conversation.”

Director Alex Ross Perry said “Collaborating with Tobias to expand the saga of GHOST into a feature film has been a wicked delight. This movie allowed us to be inspired by everything from silent horror to The Great Rock n’ Roll Swindle, from Ralph Bakshi to KISS Alive II. The influences were many, but above all, the ultimate goal was to make a one-of-a-kind feast not only for GHOST fans, but all lovers of the cinematic alchemy between rock spectacle and spooky delights.”

Kymberli Frueh, SVP of Programming and Content Acquisitions at Trafalgar Releasing, adds “The mystery, mystique, and musical style of GHOST has created such a dedicated allegiance to the band. Our cinemas provide the perfect immersive experience to unite fans as a community and experience GHOST’s elaborate performances with big screens and big sound.”

RITE HERE RITE NOW is produced by Popecorn Cinematic Pictures. Producers include Kristen Mulderig, Rick Sales, Craig Butta and Jonas Åkerlund.

Notes to Editors: Exact screening dates may vary between territories. Notable exceptions include Sweden and Denmark, where screenings will be held on June 20 & 23, and France, where screenings will be held on June 23 only. Full screening information will be available at ritehereritenow.com from May 9.

About GHOST
Accumulating nearly 10 billion streams, GRAMMY-winning Swedish theatrical rock band and global sensation GHOST continues to bring the “euphoric spectacle” (ROLLING STONE) of its live shows to ever-growing crowds, most recently on last year’s triumphant RE-IMPERATOUR U.S.A. 2023, which hit more than two dozen North American cities before its two-night finale at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. In March 2022, THE LOS ANGELES TIMES reported in a Calendar cover story that GHOST had “conquered metal and the charts” when its fifth album IMPERA debuted at #1 in a sweep of the U.S. album charts, entering the BILLBOARD 200 at #2 and bowing at #1 in the band’s native Sweden, Germany and Finland, while cracking the top 5 in another half dozen or more countries. Featuring “Spillways”—hailed as a “sweetly constructed rock tune” by THE NEW YORK TIMES and later reimagined with Joe Elliott of Def Leppard—and the GRAMMY-nominated “Call Me Little Sunshine,” GHOST’s fifth #1 at Active Rock radio—IMPERA moved ROLLING STONE to remark, “GHOST predicted the pandemic, now the metal band is foretelling the fall of empires.” The album presented the most current and topical GHOST subject matter to date set against a darkly colorful melodic backdrop making IMPERA a listen like no other—yet unmistakably, quintessentially GHOST. Having closed out 2022 by cracking the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time, with the RIAA platinum-certified “Mary on a Cross,” as well as IMPERA winning Favorite Rock Album at the American Music Awards and Best Rock Album of the Year at the iHeart Radio Music Awards, GHOST unveiled PHANTOMIME, a five-song covers EP including the version of Iron Maiden’s “Phantom of the Opera” that earned the band its fifth GRAMMY nomination. GHOST’s seemingly limitless ambition will soon take the band to the silver screen with the June 2024 theatrical premiere of the feature film RITE HERE RITE NOW.

[Review] Nothing But Thieves @ Hordern Pavilion, Sydney 30/04/2024

Conor Mason, Joe Langridge-Brown, Dominic Craik, Philip Blake, and James Price, collectively known as Nothing But Thieves, blew the roof off The Hordern Pavilion, kicking off their tour in a rainy Sydney with a performance that was nothing short of spectacular. As the first show of their Welcome to The DCC Pt2 tour and with the entire Dead Club City album under their belt, anticipation ran high, the band delivered an unforgettable evening.

A prerecorded call on the speakers to “Give it up for Nothing but Thieves” set the tone for the night – one of unbridled passion and raw talent. Despite it being less than 12 months since the Essex lads sold out an Aussie run, the atmosphere crackled with energy from the moment the band took the stage, opening with the anthemic Welcome to the DCC that immediately had the crowd on their feet.

The setlist was a carefully curated blend of fan favorites and tracks from Dead Club City, showcasing the band’s evolution over the years. Songs like Is Everybody Going Crazy? and Sorry resonated deeply with the audience, their infectious melodies and powerful lyrics stirring emotions.

One of the highlights of the evening was the performance of Lover Please Stay, a ballad that hadn’t been played live in quite some time. The intimate moment, with Langridge-Brown seated on the drum riser and Mason bathed in spotlight, was a poignant reminder of the band’s versatility and emotional depth.

As the night progressed, the energy only intensified, with tracks like Trip Switch and Futureproof sending the crowd into a frenzy of limbs. The unexpected appearance of a rogue balloon floating above the pit, only to conjure Pop the Balloon added to the excitement, with Blake’s bass reverberating through our chests.

For the encore, Nothing But Thieves treated us to a raucous rendition of Oh No :: He Said What?, exuding Michael Jackson Thriller vibes that had everyone dancing. Mason giggled on the microphone saying “if we enjoyed that, you’ll LOVE the next” as they kicked into gear with crowd favourite Amsterdam.

Throughout the night, Nothing But Thieves demonstrated why they are one of the most captivating live acts in the industry and why Aussies flood to their shows. Their musicianship was impeccable, their stage presence magnetic, and their connection with the audience palpable. Many times throughout the performance I found myself blown away with Mason’s vocal technique and talent.

During the final song, Overcome, I couldn’t help but notice the heartwarming sight of friends, lovers, siblings, and even newfound companions grabbing each other to dance together. In that moment, the music united us all, transcending barriers and differences. It was a fleeting yet profound instance where everything in the world felt perfect, and nothing could dim the brilliance of that moment. Overcome served as a powerful shot of positivity, reminding us all of the transformative power of music and its ability to bring people together in harmony.

With their Dead Club City tour in full swing, Nothing But Thieves have once again proven why they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of alternative rock. Brisbane and Auckland are already sold out! If you have the chance to catch them live, don’t hesitate – it’s an experience you won’t soon forget.

Later in the show, she will be joined on stage by friend and producer Clive Tulloh, who will put to Joanna the questions that you’ve always wanted to ask – submitted by the audience – making the show a unique and hilarious night to remember.

Joanna Lumley Me & My Travels Australian Tour Dates 2024:
Wednesday 9 October – Concert Hall, QPAC, Brisbane
Friday 11 October – Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne
Wednesday 16 October – Festival Theatre, Adelaide
Saturday 19 October – Riverside Theatre, Perth

On announcing Me & My Travels, Joanna said: “The thought of this tour in October, travelling across Australia, has completely taken over my waking hours. It’s utterly thrilling to start planning the stories I can tell, and the rapture (and gratitude, to be fair) with which I shall greet the audiences. Nothing like this has come my way before, and I may have to be dragged off with a hook at the end of each show. Oh people! This is especially for you from me, with masses of love. I think it will be fabulous.”

Excited to be promoting Joanna’s Australian tour alongside Phil McIntyre Live Presents, Paul Dainty AO, President and CEO of TEG Dainty said, “Joanna Lumley stands out as one of the world’s greatest entertainers, audiences are in for an unforgettable and hilarious evening at the theatre.”

Joanna Lumley icon, national treasure, activist, comedy actress and all-round top girl is barely off our TV screens and appears to have been a permanent fixture in our sitting rooms since she burst onto our screens as Purdey in the New Avengers in 1976. Now in a nationwide Australian tour she will take us through the random journey that started in London in the swinging 60’s. Beginning as Jean Muir’s house model and muse, progressing to becoming a full-blown photographic model, featuring in knitting patterns, mini-skirts, toothpaste commercials and the occasional front cover.

From there Joanna will share her stories of her acting career that includes Coronation Street, On the Buses, Dracula and as a brainwashed Bond Girl in Blofeld’s lair in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Joanna’s breakthrough role was as Purdey, a part for which over 800 girls auditioned. Purdey propelled her to instant fame and created one of the “must-have” hairstyles of the 1970s — the Purdey bob. She became a pin-up figure for a generation of British males who grew up watching her as the high-kicking action girl.

Alongside iconic hairstyles Joanna started to develop a nice side line as adventurer and activist; popping up all over the globe she was often seen gasping at the Northern Lights, turning her bra into espadrilles and finding the source of the Nile.

Then as Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous she became a degenerate role-model for a generation. Winning two BAFTAs, Joanna emerged as one of the best comedy actresses of her generation. For 25 years the adventures of Patsy and Edina have sporadically lurched across our screens culminating in AbFab The Movie in 2016.

This intimate night with Joanna tells some of these tales and more as we gallop through almost 50 years in this business we call show.

Clive Tulloh
Clive Tulloh first met Joanna on the set of the Full Wax in 1991 and has barely let her out of his sight since. As Producer of Girl Friday in 1994 he was personally responsible for her appalling living conditions and meagre diet. It was this experience that cemented their friendship. He is sometimes allowed to work with other people and won a BAFTA (three less than Joanna) with Ross Kemp and if you have a very good memory you will remember Ruby Wax shouting at him while they pursued the likes of Pamela Anderson and Imelda Marcos in Ruby Wax Meets.

PRESLEY DAVIS JR SHARES THREE SINGLES ACROSS THREE DIFFERENT GENRES ‘HOW CAN I’, ‘CRAZY’ + ‘PETUNIA’

SHARES THREE SINGLES ACROSS THREE DIFFERENT GENRES
RELEASES SIMULTANEOUS SINGLES HOW CAN I, CRAZY + PETUNIA
TAKEN FROM FORTHCOMING NEW PROJECT ECLECTA TRIFECTA

Whoever said two is company and three is a crowd clearly never witnessed three simultaneous singles released from singer-songwriter, actor and all-around compulsive creative Presley Davis Jr. Today releasing three new singles of varying sonic shades, Presley flexes his balanced creative muscles, spanning sultry blues on How Can I, slinky, vintage jazz via Crazy, and bouncy bluegrass courtesy of Petunia. With all three singles also offering a peek behind the curtain into Presley’s upcoming three albums, Birdlife, Roadside Magnolia and Torana Americana which will all form into the amalgamated Eclecta Trifecta project set to release this July, genres and creativity take full flight in the capable hands of Presley Davis Jr; and there is truly something for everyone with his latest offerings.

Flying the flag for blues and soul and taken from the impending album Birdlife, Presley’s first single How Can I swoons with nods to the likes of Albert King, Donny Hathaway and Mavis Staples, with its soft swagger and tempered sensuality showcasing Presley Davis Jr’s charismatic warmth as he regales a tale of tumultuous romance, as the man himself explains, “This song came to mind without much, lyrically, other than a few turns of phrase. I knew it was about someone who was living a double love life. I used details from a friend’s declining relationship which was a real cheat-fest to fill in the blanks.”

Next up, grab some old-timey jazz goodness courtesy of Crazy, aka Presley Davis Jr’s vintage take on the classic single penned by Willie Nelson and made famous by Patsy Cline, set to feature on the upcoming album Roadside Magnolia. Complete with sparking piano lines, stomping brass and oozing jazz flourishes, Presley’s Crazy is a stunning ode both to its source material, influences like Dr. John, Anders Osborne and Leon Redbone, and, ultimately, his very own upbringing. “My father was obsessed with tenor banjos and early jazz,” he shares. “The only other music he seemed to enjoy was Willie Nelson. Patsy Cline made this song famous, but Willie Nelson wrote it. One morning I woke up to find a recording of myself playing this country classic in this really old-time jazz style. It had been emailed to me from ‘Friday Night Presley’ if you know what I mean.”

And from sonic throwbacks and soulful swoons through to shimmering bluegrass, Presley’s sonic hat-trick rounds out today with Petunia, lifted from the upcoming album Torana Americana; a potent and rhythmic bouncing blast, laced with percolating strings, inspiration from Bill Monroe, Ricky Skaggs and Paul Kelly, and ultimately emerging as a jaunty ode to Presley’s real-life experiences, as he reveals, “Petunia is a slacker’s lament. Or in my case an undiagnosed ADHD lament. I never intentionally dragged my feet in life, but I have pancaked a lot and find myself constantly starting anew. Turns out this is common for people with my diagnoses. This song is basically for my partner who has always supported me.”

A creative chameleon, Presley Davis Jr’s experiences during the pandemic years led to the talented artist evaluating himself both professionally and personally and ultimately settling on the idea to release a three-album project, with all three albums in three different styles to release on the same day. Thus, the Eclecta Trifecta project was born, consisting of the forthcoming full-lengths Birdlife, Roadside Magnolia and Torana Americana. OnBirdlife, Presley embraces rhythm and blues influences, exploring blues, funk and soul vibes that he was steeped in while playing in bands around Chicago and St Louis. For Roadside Magnolia, Presley presents a faithful old-time jazz record, honouring the music taught to him by his late father and featuring tenor banjo, tuba, piano, trombone, clarinet and vocals. And Torana Americana celebrates all things country, with bluegrass songs alongside traditional country and western tunes, all focused on harmony vocals and an array of boot-tappin’ tunes.

Starting work on his country and soul material first, Presley began the entire Eclecta Trifecta process on his own in Melbourne before connecting with some local industry friends to ultimately bring the three eclectic albums to fruition. With mixing courtesy of Alejandro Rosenblat (Roadside Magnolia) in Argentina and Jason Torrens (Birdlife and Torana Americana), and a global army of musicians, the Eclecta Trifecta is a celebration of styles, ingenuity and, ultimately, unbridled creativity. “I bought an interface, a few microphones and watched a lot of YouTube videos,” sharesPresley of the creative process behind his new material. “I just persisted and finished one track on my own. I then sent that to a few of my mates who know about recording. They encouraged me to continue. Jason Torrens was one of those mates. He owns Debasement Studios in Ferntree Gully Victoria and has worked with Bodyjar, You Am I, Slipknot, and he is Senior Program Leader at Collarts. I would record everything and edit things to the best of my ability and then upload the session for him to take over. That was the process for the country songs, and the soul songs. For the jazz songs, we did the drums and piano live with me playing and singing along. We recorded those bits at Four4ty studios in Eltham over 3 days. I then re-recorded the vocals, added banjo, guitar at my house. The best part of that was having Nathan Ford come around to my house to record the tuba for all my neighbours to hear – I had never recorded tuba before. And because of the pandemic, I ended up getting people from all over the world playing on these records, just sending their parts through.”

Adopting his stage name to honour Sammy Davis Jr., it seemed predestined that Presley Davis Jr would find himself immersed in the arts. Receiving his first guitar and tenor banjo at the age of eight from his father, a member of the Nicky Capodice Banjo Band, Presley was contracted to sing old jazz favourites six nights a week by the age of 17 and was touring North America by the age of 25, performing with different bands in different styles spanning bluegrass, blues, soul and rock. Eventually moving to his wife’s hometown of Melbourne, Presley would find himself hemmed in by the world’s longest lockdown during the pandemic years; but rather than dull his creativity, Presley turned to his work and aspired to conjure something entirely for himself, as he concludes, “Covid forced me to think about my mortality. I realised that for most of my musical career I have been a travelling performer. Playing gigs to pay my bills. I have recorded with bands, but I suddenly felt the need to do something for myself. It feels great to finally be releasing these tracks after so much time in the studio. For a while there, I thought the light at the end of the tunnel was accelerating away from me.”

How Can I, Crazy and Petunia are out today, Tuesday April 30.
Birdlife, Roadside Magnolia, and Torana Americana, aka the Eclecta Trifecta, are due out on Tuesday July 23.

To continue the upwards tide, 2024 marks the re-issue of four more influential titles. The 2024 reissues feature all original art with a few, careful touch-ups. All releases have been re-mastered specific for vinyl by Justin Shturtz at the legendary Sterling Sound Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Featuring different colourways, all records will be pressed on heavyweight 180g vinyl and will feature the instantly recognisable etching of the Jesterhead logo on side D (ex. Lunar Strain & Colony).

Yours Truly Announce Brand New Album ‘TOXIC’ Due Out August 16 & Shares New Single ‘Sour’

YOURS TRULY
ANNOUNCE BRAND NEW ALBUM TOXIC
DUE OUT FRIDAY 16 AUGUST

BAND SHARES NEW SINGLE SOUR

Come and sink your teeth into the dazzling new era for alternative luminaries Yours Truly, with the Sydney trio today announcing their brand new album TOXIC, set for release on Friday 16 August via UNFD. Pre-orders for TOXIC will go live on May 2 at 9:00am AEST.

With their name now cemented on a global scale, Yours Truly journey even further into their trademark versatility on their forthcoming sophomore album chapter, expanding beyond stylistic confines and expectations. Effusive and effervescent one moment, dark and damaging the next, TOXIC runs the spectrum of human emotions across its 10 tracks. Led by a star turn from vocalist Mikaila Delgado, the album is an open-vein, open heart diary of personal crisis, a dynamic yet cohesive soundscape of pop and rock, indie and alternative shimmering and shuddering beneath Delgado’s cathartic confessionals: in short, it’s a lethal dose of brilliance from one of the scene’s brightest musical acts.

Following up from the brooding pulse of Call My Name, latest single Sour serves up captivating hooks for days on a platter of irresistible staccato swagger.

“Sour was written during a session after I was feeling extremely burnt out,” shares vocalist Mikaila Delgado. “We had come off extensive touring and quite a turbulent time not only for the band but personally as well. I was just feeling so bitter towards everything and trying to force writing when it just wasn’t naturally flowing made me so angry. We got to a stage as a band where we had a lot of people in our ear telling us what to do and how they thought we should do it. I just thought “fuck this, this is our fucking band, I’m going to do what I want!””

Sour follows on from Yours Truly‘s most recent single Call My Name, with the latter praised by Kerrang! for its catchy wiles as well as spending multiple weeks in triple j’s Most Played list. Adopting modernised pop punk stylings alongside themes of self discovery, Call My Name seamlessly leads into Sour‘s powerhouse qualities, with both offering a tempting peek into what lies in wait on TOXIC.

Polished, precise and hauntingly vulnerable, Yours Truly catapulted their previous trademark pop punk style into a new stratosphere via their 2022 EP is this what i look like?. Armed with raw honesty and heightened influences, is this what i look like? explored moments of pop punk and introspection while also forging an amalgamation of organic yet unexpected new sounds, emerging as an irresistible exploration into heightened rock, emo and dance-ready sparkle woven into the Yours Truly DNA.

From their 2020 album Self Care scooping up an ARIA nomination for Best Hard Rock or Heavy album, to boasting massive international performances, millions of streams and an ever-growing legion of global fans, Yours Truly remain transfixed as one of the most exciting bands on the scene courtesy of their striking songwriting and dynamic live performances.

Spending 2023 touring Europe alongside You Me At Six, ticking off their first ever UK headline shows, supporting Against The Current in North America and touring Australia nationally with Neck Deep, Yours Truly kicked off 2024 with an appearance at THPS25 in Brisbane, celebrating 25 years of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater with Tony Hawk himself in attendance, as well as embarking on their entirely sold out Call My Name Tour across Australian in March. Yours Truly will also return overseas later this year, appearing at Reading and Leeds Festival in the UK this August alongside headliners Blink-182, Fred Again, Lana Del Rey, Liam Gallagher and many more.
