Excitement is building around the second annual Gippsland Country Music Festival, locked in for April 23. After a massive sell-out inaugural event, the second year of the festival is already well on its way to selling out in advance. Organisers have just announced final release tickets for the Mossvale Park festival, /as well as playing times for the all-day event, which is headlined by Kasey Chambers, The Wolfe Brothers, Travis Collins, and Adam Harvey, with Darlinghurst, Taylor Moss, Mick Harrington, The Strzelecki Stringbusters, Bob Wilson Barkindji Man, Lee SonnyBoy Morgan, DJ Brat Paisley, and MC Ben Mastwyk. There are now only limited tickets available to the event and country music fans are encouraged to get in quick in order to not miss out.

G/ates open for the Gippsland Country Music Festival at 11am, with a Welcome to Country kick-starting the event. Live music continues all day, with Kasey Chambers taking the stage at 8pm to close out the evening. The event also features line dancing classes from renowned local line-dance instructor Linda Pink, wood-chopping demonstrations, rides, market stalls and a host of delicious Gippsland food and drinks on offer, including a Smokehouse BBQ and onsite bars.

For organiser and long-time Gippsland local Aidan McLaren, to see such incredible support thrown behind Gippsland Country Music Festival for a second year in a row means something very special to everyone involved on working on the festival. “To sell-out the inaugural event so quickly was such an exciting moment,” he says. “Now, to have the second edition on track to sell out as well is incredible. For a long-time we’ve felt like the Gippsland region deserved to have its own country music festival, and now that it’s here, and people are loving it, we truly hope it is something that can continue for many years to come. To be able to welcome world-class country acts to the local region, while also providing opportunities to local acts is something we’re really proud of.”

The Gippsland Country Music Festival is not just about bringing the music to Gippsland, but also about showcasing everything that Gippsland has to offer. “We hope the festival is huge for our Gippsland region, both economically and socially” says Aidan. “Our ticketing data shows that a lot of people are travelling from outside of Gippsland to attend. The knock-on effects of this to local business is immense, as many of these people will be staying overnight in Gippsland and most likely exploring some of the other amazing places the region has to offer. The event itself also engages many local contractors and businesses. For our locals, having world-class artists performing on your doorstep is pretty special, however, the event also provides people a chance to connect with each other and share an enjoyable day out connecting with family and friends of all ages, and the local community. After the last two years we’ve all had, I think that’s really important and something we’re all looking forward to. For those from greater Melbourne and outside of Gippsland, be prepared to fall in love with Gippsland. Chances are once you’ve spent some time here and seen how great this place is, you’ll soon be looking to make the move down permanently.”

As for the local community, Aidan says the response they’ve received from the Gippsland region for the event has been phenomenal. “The support from the community has been great, and it’s been such a joy to have so many local people and organisations involved in the running of the event,” he says. “With a genuine feeling of restrictions easing, and people coming back together, we’ve seen ticket sales really start to ramp up again and highly recommend people grab their tickets soon, if they don’t want to miss out.”
