Sacramento, CA Sacramento rock/metal group Sages will be releasing their new album Sleepwalker due out 10/2/17.
I always love being asked to check out new bands so when I was asked to give Sages a listen it came with no regret, it does nothing but shine, with incredible talent from every member. Packed with outstanding riffs, powerhouse vocals, and catchy beats this is truly an album worth the wait and which really makes you appreciate the hard work these musicians put together to bring us an incredible album.
This album excels in so many ways, from beautifully written music, vocals that are both harmonizing and powerful that at times is just breathtaking, the insane riffs from guitar Punchy bass and incredible beats from the drums to the beautiful artwork that comes with it. This album is really worth getting your hands on. If you haven’t checked Sages out before then now is the time to do so.
What The Hell is the first track on this album. The sounds of a gun loading quickly grab your attention which leads to some really amazing guitar riffs and catchy head banging beats, What The Hell is really a great track to open up on and one that will drag the fans in on this incredible ride.
With you is by far one of the standout tracks for me on this album which has me finding myself having to keep control and not turn it up the entire volume as those incredible guitar riffs are just out of this world.
Sleepwalker: If you were not already lost in the midst of this crazy yet remarkable rise of talent, then Sleepwalker will do the job, packed with raw emotional vocals, it really is a track you just need to listen to because words really cannot justify the beauty that comes with this track.
On my Way: The start draws you in with a back and forth riff from the guitars as if they were chasing you. It sets in that tone that reminds you not to be afraid anymore.
As we now reach the halfway point on an album that gives you everything you could possibly want/need, we get to the track, Come With Me, that has both that classical feel, but is mixed with those dark rock sounds we love, that bring in those raw vocals, catchy beats and head banging beats.
Save yourself reminds us in just a few short words Get up, get up, get up on your feet….no one’s going to save you, you just gotta save yourself it is a great message to remind yourself at times because it falls nothing short of being true it will properly be one of those fan favourites and you wouldn’t be blamed.
Up to the sky: The main stand out for me and one that simply blew me away with the nail-biting guitar riffs and powerhouse screams that come into it, and electrifying beats it makes it so hard not to get dragged in.
Wasting away: The halfway point to this track finds the listener being dragged through a ride full of amazing riffs and nothing but the sheer talent from the guitars.
Face the world is a beautifully written harmonizing track filled with tons of emotion while it may not have those fast heavier riffs we have heard from the other tracks on this album, it mixes in with catchy lyrics that make it really easy to find yourself singing along to. Dino Vidovich, Mike House, Ryan Cavalli, Logan Gameson, & Matt Franks are all such incredibly talented musicians and I really can’t wait to see what’s next for them.
As we reach the final track on this album Free it has been nothing short of amazing, bursting out the much softer stuff from any other track we have heard on this album, it leaves you wanting more finishing just as strong as when they first started it makes you wonder what could be next from Sages until then just keep this album on repeat and enjoy everything it has to offer.
Sleepwalker comes out on February 10th. The album will be available for purchase on Amazon and iTunes!
