After bursting onto charts around the world, Tonight Alive’s newest album Underworld made its way up the ARIA Albums chart to #11, landing itself one of the highest local debuts during January 2018. Musically symbolising the totality of the band’s life coming full circle after experiencing their highest highs and lowest lows, on Underworld the band share an emotional journey with their fans.
Singer Jenna McDougall artfully awoke the feelings she had repressed and used them as a driving force when writing her lyrics and recording this album. McDougall shares, “The album is called Underworld and I named it that because it reflects the ugly parts of me that I wasn’t ready to see until now.”
Fresh from headlining the US and Europe, Tonight Alive will bring their latest album down under for the first time performing tracks from their triple j feature album Underworld alongside back catalogue fan favorites.

Tonight Alive is celebrating the release of the music video for their latest single “Disappear” today. The super-charged track features Lynn Gunn (PVRIS) and is the third single from their upcoming album Underworld, set for release on January 12 via UNFD.
On the track and collaboration, singer Jenna McDougall shares” “Disappear is a song about the escapist inside all of us. As you can expect from Tonight Alive, the lyrics discuss freedom, but this time with a flavour of anonymity and detachment. Disappear was written with the intention of sounding neither like Pvris or Tonight Alive, and aimed to capture the sonic imagery of a long straight highway out of your comfort zone.”
“Disappear” premiered earlier today as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 and joins previously released videos for “Crack My Heart” and “Temple”. The lead single from the upcoming release, “Temple”, was shared with fans earlier this spring and was added to triple j rotation, earning the title of the #6th most played song on the station in late November.
Next Friday, coinciding with the release of Underworld, Tonight Alive will return to Tarwin Lower to play at the sold out Unify 18. To celebrate the release of the album, before their set Tonight Alive will hosta very special release party for fans on-site at the Bush Bar from 6pm.
