Just when you thought that the already sold out Big Pineapple Music Festival couldn’t get any bigger, we’re back with some awesome new editions to drive that fomo a little higher.
BPMF is stoked to welcome two new acts to the 2018 lineup… SLUMBERJACK andPANDAMIC.
Perth based duo Slumberjack burst onto the Australian electronic scene in 2014 and have released one killer track after another including ‘RA’, ‘Afraid, Unafraid’, ‘Open Fire feat. Daniel Johns’ and ‘Fracture feat. Vera Blue’, racking up millions of streams along the way. Four years in they are festival veterans, having played Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, Touch Base, FOMO, Southbound, Beyond the Valley and Mountain Sounds Festival as well as Lollapalooza, Electric Forest and HARD Summer in the US, and a Guest Mix for Diplo & Friends. We’re stoked to welcome these West Australian wizards to BPMF 2018!
Signed to Dune Rats’ own Ratbag Records, Pandamic recorded their 2016 debut EP ‘Scumbag’ in a Rockhampton shed and it quickly gained the attention of triple j. They’ve since released follow up EP ‘Archer’ and toured locally and abroad, supporting the likes of The Rubens, Dune Rats and The Vanns as well as playing Groovin’ The Moo and El Grande Festival. Next stop BPMF!
When you’re not watching bands you should definitely check out BPMF Art, a weird and wonderful collection of interactive performances, installations and more.
Building on a work he debuted at Splendour in the Grass 2017, Andy Forbes’ LIVE UNDEAD is an interactive theatrical installation where the BPMF punters are buried alive. Witness an embalming by Slava Pickle, a ludicrous Russian backyard mortician who demonstrates crude methods of beautification on corpses. Then boogie the night away in the graveyard equipped with morbidly kinky ghostly illusions. Strange, deranged and totally hilarious, LIVE UNDEAD was the breakout hit of the Adelaide Fringe Festival and makes its spooky debut at BPMF this year!
A fascinating mix of outback macho and inner-city punk, ROOD’s giant bouncing kangaroos have appeared at festivals around the world including Glastonbury, where they were voted second best act (after Coldplay) in a BBC 2 poll. Jumping up to a metre off the ground and two metres in a bound, they will be a phenomenal sight at BPMF 2018.
And don’t mIss the LANTERN PARADE on Saturday evening for an epic parade of beautiful, large scale paper lanterns. They’ll be roving around the festival at sunset. Have your cameras ready because it’s gonna be lit!
Don’t forget BEST DRESSED AT THE FEST! It’s back this year with bigger and better prizes including tickets for BPMF 2019 and $500 prize for both the best individual and best team. Start work-shopping your costume ideas now and make sure they’re good and fruity.
Missed out on tickets? You’re in luck. This year, BPMF will be operating a re-sale facility via Moshtix, so keep your eye on the website for your chance to purchase a ticket. Need to ditch your tix? This is the only legitimate way to re-sell your tickets.
