On the local front, Melbourne hard rock act, Sisters Doll join the bill nationally together with tongue in cheek theatrical rockers, Crosson.

They will be joined by a heavy hitting cast of locals in each city which includes the likes of CatalanoCassidy ParisAtomic RiotDept. Of Gloom and Star Crazy.

Organisers, Silverback Touring, say that “Glam Fest is about good music and good times and bringing both the old and new generations of such a diverse genre together on the one bill”.

If anything, GLAM FEST will have punters reaching for their leather jackets and eye liner in what will no doubt be a huge day and night out of pure unadulterated hard rock ecstasy.

Interview with Josh & Hazel Meyer (Those Who Dream)

Those Who Dream are an Australian alternative rock duo and multifaceted creative project of siblings Josh and Hazel Meyer. Their captivating energy and revealing lyrics has not only earned them the acclaim of Pop Buzz, Rock Sound and Alternative Press; but more importantly, a cult-like following across the world. The Meyer siblings are as DIY as it gets, citing “YouTube tutorials” as their teachers of filmmaking, 3D animation, design, songwriting and production. The sum of these talents can be best seen in the duo’s extravagant music video for their breakout single #Violet, featuring surreal and eerie visuals reminiscent of psychological-horror films. Growing up perpetually fascinated by art in all of its forms; the siblings quickly learnt to channel their own struggles and emotional turmoil into creative expression. After creating individually and experimenting in bands, it quickly became apparent that their best work was created together. Now, it seems their hard work is paying off, with the group touring this year with Mayday Parade, Real Friends and Short Stack, and set to perform at all three Good Things Festival events in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in December.

Interview with Joel Vanderuit (Kisschasy)

Kisschasy are an Australian rock band whose music varies from catchy pop to emo-tinged ballads to hard rock. A fateful meeting took place between Darren Cordeux (vocals, guitar) and Joel Vanderuit (bass) in the crowd at the 2002 Warped Tour. The two youths had both been tinkering with bands of their own, but inspired by the world-class music all around them, they decided to start fresh with a new band: Kisschasy. Two of Vanderuit's friends joined them — Sean Thomas (guitar) and Karl Ammitzboll (drums). Their first recordings were the 2004 EPs Darkside/Stay Awake and Cara Sposa, released on indie label Below Par Records. A year later, they recorded their debut album, United Paper People, a gentle pop/rock record. Over the next two years, songwriter Cordeux worked on two albums' worth of songs for their next release. One set was made of country-tinged songs that he described as “Lemonheads-y,” with the rest being heavier rock numbers. The band decided to go with the louder songs and released Hymns for the Nonbeliever in 2007.

Recently Joel had a chat with STMs Kynan about what we might expect from their appearenne at Good Things Festival next weekend.

Interview with Rich “The Duke” Ward (Fozzy)

It has been a two years for Australian rock fans with no new international tour announcements but that changes now. With borders finally open and restrictions lifted Silverback Touring is saying “f**k it” and giving fans a 1,2,3 count of unashamed rock n roll with two of the hottest live bands on the planet, BUCKCHERRY and FOZZY.

BUCKCHERRY recently dropped their incredible new and possibly best yet, album Hellbound and just this past week a frantic new video and single ‘5,4,3,2,1’. Whilst FOZZY have been tearing up the U.S. Billboard charts with their latest single ‘Sane’ whilst their anthemic track ‘Judas’ continues to amass huge numbers.

Multi-Platinum selling rockers BUCKCHERRY return to Australia armed with a new album Hellbound. BUCKCHERRY staunchly uphold the commandments of rock music with an arsenal of anthems primed to explode on impact live on stage and teeming with riotous energy, sexy swagger, and primal chops intact.  It’s something that the boys have done since day one, but it’s more necessary now than ever. With an array of classic such ‘Lit Up’, ‘Crazy Bit*h’, ‘Sorry’, ‘Say F*ck It’ and ‘All Night Long’, BUCKCHERRY are ready to once again party down under.

BUCKCHERRY is unique, complex, simple, passionate, explosive, original, and always a good time. BC has been my love, my pain, my passion and I'm so proud of what we have accomplished. I never knew when I started this that dedicating myself to music would be taking on so much responsibility. For a guy who never thought he was going to live past 30 this has been an incredible journey. Our ninth record Hellbound marks 22 years since our debut self-titled release and what an amazing roller coaster we have been on. From hit songs to platinum and gold records and millions of fans worldwide – all during a time period when traditional sounding hard rock bands didn't exist – except for BUCKCHERRY. We beat the odds and built our reputation on the live shows, and our “one of a kind” approach to every opportunity. – Josh Todd

After touring the world with the likes of Metallica, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, Shinedown and building a loyal fanbase for the better part of twenty years, FOZZY is the epitome of what a great rock n roll band should be: catchy, groovy, hooky, sweaty and most importantly, an AWESOME F**KIN TIME! With five consecutive TOP 30 singles, FOZZY is steadily becoming one of the most successful bands on Modern Rock Radio with one of the most electric live shows.

Interview with Fletcher Dragge (Pennywise)

Hermosa Beach legends PENNYWISE are gearing up for their return to Oz next month and are bringing with them, for the first time to our shores, fellow Californian punk rockers CIRCLE JERKS to play seven shows along with special guests, Civic who will open all shows*.

The tour will mark Pennywise’s first return to Australia since last visiting to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their ARIA certified Gold stratus album ‘Straight Ahead’ – the band’s highest charting album to date (number 8 in the ARIA charts).

Fletcher Dragge enthuses;

“Finally Pennywise gets to come back to our home away from home, Australia! Where the beer flows nonstop, along with the chaos. Never a dull moment on a Pennywise tour down under… only one thing could make it better than usual, and that would be coming to town with our mentors and long-time friends THE CIRCLE JERKS!!!  They are back with a vengeance!

This is gonna be an off the f***ing hook nonstop party!  And we can’t wait! Get your tix, get on the booze, and get in the pit, we’re coming for you f***ers!!!!!”

Formed in the South Bay of Los Angeles, a neighbourhood with a rich punk rock history, Pennywise began in 1988. The band would go on to amass an international following with their combustible chemistry which delivered some of punk rock culture’s strongest songs. Pennywise classics like ‘Same Old Story’, ‘Alien’ and ‘Homesick’ are as fundamental to punk rock and hardcore as stage dives and guitars.

Emerging from the punk underbelly of LA’s South Bay in 1979, Keith Morris (Black Fag, OFF!) and Greg Hetson (Red Kross, Bad Religion) formed Circle Jerks, who quickly became the innovators of a movement simply referred to today as HARDCORE PUNK ROCK.

Melbourne powerhouse Civic will open all shows on the tour (except for Gosford). Forming in 2018 and bonding over a shared love of tightly coiled riffs and a collective musical ethos, Civic have found a home somewhere between 80’s glam rock and Australia’s 70’s greats. Paying homage to the classics, but pivoting on them with an avant-charged edge.

Raw, searing guitars; pummeling rhythms; driving bass; with vocals that lock into and synergise with their wall of sound. Balanced by the raucous and restrained weaving of melodies and textures, the imbued sense of nostalgia. Driving and tenacious, but never losing sight of a good hook and how to use it, Civic doesn’t tip-toe around the edges – but obliterate them with primal intensity!

This historic pairing of hardcore punk heavyweights will be leaving devastation in their wake this September.

Interview with Kenny Leckramo (HEAT)

Scandinavia heads down under as Silverback Touring bring you two of Sweden’s finest Hard Rock exports H.E.A.T. This will be the first Australian Tour and the action takes place in September 2022.

Over the last several years H.E.A.T has established themselves as one of the leading brands in the melodic rock scene, both in their homeland Sweden and internationally. They have toured and performed front of thousands and thousands of fans around the world

In April 2008, their self-titled debut album was released and became a massive vitamin injection for the genre and instantly received accolades from both fans and critics worldwide. The release was followed up by immense touring and H.E.A.T played with bands such as Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy and on big festivals like Sweden Rock.

Since that time H.E.A.T have released a further 6 studio albums and have established themselves as a major force in the hard rock world.

During the Covid period, the band experienced a shift in personnel with original vocalist, Kenny Leckremo, returning to the fold replacing Erik Gronwoll. The band has a new album, Force Majeure, releasing on 5 August just in time for their Aussie visit.

“What can you say about H.E.A.T? If you don’t like these energetic Swedes you must be dead inside, as this year they’ve shown the UK crowd how to be the most complete band on the planet” – Classic Rock Magazine.

Local support comes from rising rock starlet, Cassidy Paris who fuses elements of melodic rock, pop punk and classic rock and is making noise all over the world as an artist to watch.
