RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS Add Extra Dates To Australian Tour Due to Overwhelming Demand

Legendary rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers have today announced 2 new dates on their massive Australian stadium tour, in response to an extraordinary demand for tickets. They will play a second show at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on February 4, with an additional show for Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on February 9.

The tour will commence in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on January 29 before heading to Accor Stadium, Sydney on February 2 and 4, followed by Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on February 7 and 9, before concluding in Perth at Optus Stadium on February 12.

Red Hot Chili Peppers will drop their second album of 2022, thirteenth studio album Return of the Dream Canteen, on October 14, featuring new single Tippa My Tongue – watch HERE. This follows the release of Unlimited Love in April, both records produced by Rick Rubin. Upon announcing this new album, the band said, “Two double albums released back to back. The second of which is easily as meaningful as the first or should that be reversed. Return Of The Dream Canteen is everything we are and ever dreamed of being. It’s packed.”

The band kicked off their global stadium earlier in the year in Spain following the release of Unlimited Love, with stops in London, Paris, Dublin, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and many more.  The tour marks the return of guitarist and all-round cosmic musician John Frusciante to the group, as they perform their career-spanning hits alongside tracks from their new album.

Joining the Australian tour is multiplatinum selling superstar Post Malone. Among the best-selling music artists globally with over 80 million records sold across four career albums, Stoney (2016), Beerbongs & Bentleys (2018), Hollywood’s Bleeding (2019) and Twelve Carat Toothache (2022), Malone has won 10 Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards, one MTV Video Music Award, and has received six Grammy Award nominations. He holds several Billboard chart records: he is the first solo artist to top the Rap Airplay and Adult Contemporary charts, while Circles set the record for longest climb to number one (41 weeks) on the Adult Contemporary chart by a solo artist. His current single I Like You (A Happier Song) featuring Doja Cat is firmly embedded in the Australian airplay and ARIA singles chart.

General public tickets go on sale on Friday October 14 at 11am in Sydney and 10am in Melbourne.

Live Nation pre-sale commences Wednesday October 12 at 11am in Sydney and 10am in Melbourne, running until Friday October 14 at 10am in Sydney and 9am in Melbourne.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have sound tracked successive generations as not only one of the bestselling acts in music history, but also one of the biggest streaming rock bands in the world today. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® in 2012, the award-winning Los Angeles quartet—Anthony Kiedis [vocals], Flea [bass], Chad Smith [drums], and John Frusciante [guitar]—have collected 6 GRAMMY® Awards, sold 80 million albums, generated 5 billion YouTube views, and gathered 22 billion Spotify streams, averaging 21 million monthly listeners on the platform.

Rolling Stone cited Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Californication, and By The Way on its coveted “500 Greatest Albums of All Time,” while “Under the Bridge” landed on the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” in 2021. In addition to claiming a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, 8 MTV VMAs, 5 EMAs, 4 American Music Awards, and 3 BRIT Awards, they’ve notably notched the most #1 singles of all time at Alternative Radio with 13 #1 hits. They’ve also performed to tens of millions worldwide, headlined Coachella and became the only band ever to sell out three nights at Hyde Park in London—moving over 200,000 tickets. Adorned by anthems such as “Give It Away,” “Under the Bridge,” and “Breaking the Girl,” the diamond-certified Blood Sugar Sex Magik celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2021.

In April Red Hot Chili Peppers unveiled their new album and twelfth full-length offering, Unlimited Love [Warner Records], their first recording with guitarist John Frusciante since 2006 and first with producer and longtime collaborator Rick Rubin since 2011.  Their creative collaboration with Rubin spans legendary albums, including Blood Sugar Sex Magik [1991], Californication [1999], By The Way [2002], and Stadium Arcadium [2006].

Now the band’s seminal lineup returns with not one but two new studio albums, Unlimited Love and Return of the Dream Canteen and a record-breaking Global Stadium Tour, kicking off a brand-new generation of fans for the legendary group.

THY ART IS MURDER Announces ‘Decade Of Hate’ Australian Tour

Australia’s premier extreme metal merchants Thy Art Is Murder are thrilled to announce the Decade Of Hate Australian Tour. Plowing through the country in January 2023, Thy Art Is Murder will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their landmark album, Hate, with their biggest tour yet featuring a stellar line-up of deathcore luminaries Whitechapel, Chelsea Grin and Spite.

A towering beast of a record that bludgeons all in its path, Hate was a watershed album for Australian metal that has seen Thy Art Is Murder reign in darkness over the genre ever since. Upon its release in 2012, Thy Art Is Murder made history as the first extreme metal band to crack the ARIA Top 40, the album also bulldozed its way to number one on the AIR Chart. Hate also catapulted the band onto the world stage, seeing them play a mammoth 342 dates around the globe, with more US tours than every other Australian band at the time. Thy Art Is Murder continued to smash through ceilings with an appearance at the Big Day Out, becoming only the second extreme metal band to play the festival after Blood Duster. Between laps of the world, Hate was lauded with nominations for both an ARIA and a Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award. The album has been streamed over 55 million times to date.

To help mark a decade of Hate, Thy Art Is Murder has enlisted a behemoth line-up featuring Whitechapel (US), who will make their long-awaited return to Australia for their first run of shows in almost 10 years! Whitechapel have pumped out three albums since we last saw them on the continent, including 2021’s Kin, so they have plenty of new material to dive into upon their return. Joining them is Chelsea Grin (US), who were last spied in the country in 2019. When Chelsea Grin touch down in 2023, they’ll be clutching their double album Suffer in Hell / Suffer in Heaven, with the part one dropping this November and part two arriving March 2023. Rounding out the bill will be US decibel crushers Spite, set to decimate Australian audiences for the first time ever.

Tickets for this beast of a tour go on sale on Monday October 10. As with every single Thy Art Is Murder tour announcement, don’t be complacent – these shows will sell out. Tickets on sale at thyartismurder.net

Movements & Boston Manor Announce Australian Tour

There’s movement at the manor and all signs are pointing down under, with Southern Californian quartet Movements and British rockers Boston Manor announcing a huge Australian tour kicking off in March 2023, their first time back to Australia since 2018!

Starting in Brisbane on March 9 at The Triffid, the co-headline extravaganza will visit Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Belgrave, Melbourne and Adelaide, before closing out on March 18 at Amplifier Bar in Perth.

Reflecting personal changes from a whirlwind five years, Movements realize the full scope of their storytelling, musicianship and vision on their 2020 second full-length album, No Good Left To Give that’s already had over 15 million total global streams. Not only does the music address the emotional push-and-pull of relationships, but it also explores loss, love, mental health, and even sex through a prism of newfound clarity sound-tracked by post-punk grit, alternative expanse, heartfelt spoken word, expansive rock, and subtle pop ambition.

Following the 2016 EP Outgrown Things, the group cemented a singular sound on their 2017 full-length debut, Feel Something. Eclipsing 100 million total global streams by 2021, it immediately connected by way of Daylilly (over 36 million Spotify streams), Full Circle (over 16 million Spotify streams), and Colorblind [over 12 million Spotify streams]. In 2021, Movements released their B-sides 7” which included two new tracks extending the Movements universe organically from songs recorded during the recording sessions for No Good Left To Give.

Movements continue to pack out shows worldwide, closing out 2022 with appearances alongside A Day To Remember, The Used, Magnolia Park and many more.

Hailing from Blackpool, Lancashire in England, Boston Manor emerged as teenagers via an attempt to reinvigorate the music scene in their hometown.

Their 2018 album Welcome To The Neighbourhood was set in a fictionalised version of their hometown, while 2020’s GLUE was a powerful reflection of a broken world filtered through Cox’s own cathartic thoughts and experiences. Both albums shifted the needle in terms of Boston Manor’s sound, incorporating synths into their framework and a heavy focus on atmosphere. Coming off the back of last year’s Desperate Times, Desperate Pleasures EP, their forthcoming album Datura takes all that one step further. It is undeniably the most ambitious record Boston Manor have ever made. The first of two parts, this set of songs exists in the dim light between dusk and dawn. It’s a record you don’t just merely listen to, but one you actually inhabit and experience.

In 2022 alone, Boston Manor have toured with Alexisonfire, appeared at Riot Fest in Chicago and various other festivals around the globe. Previously nominated for Best British Breakthrough at the Kerrang! Awards in 2018 and for Best Album Artwork at the Heavy Music Awards in 2019, Boston Manor continue to leap forward into new and exciting territory; and 2023 is set to ignite the quintet to staggering new heights.

With Movements armed with their 2020 sophomore album No Good Left To Give and Boston Manor primed with their fourth full length record Datura out October 14, these Australian shows are set to showcase the cathartic and immersive might of each band in their own signature way; from the post-hardcore, spoken work and pop subtleties of Movements to the infectious pop punk, crunching anthems and vulnerability of Boston Manor, you’ll be guaranteed all the feels and stunning vigour that both bands have become beloved for over the past several years.

Come and experience the ferocious talent of Movements and Boston Manor in a town near you!Early bird pre-sale tickets on sale: Wednesday 5 October @ 5pm local time

PIXIES Album DOGGEREL Out Now!

Pixies’ reputation as alt-rock trailblazers has been reignited in recent months. Their singles ‘Dregs of the Wine’, ‘There’s A Moon On’ and ‘Vault of Heaven’ have reconnected with long-standing fans and inspired newcomers too, a blend reiterated by a series of outdoor headline shows as well as a huge Hyde Park gig as guests to Pearl Jam. Today, Pixies release their new album ‘Doggerel’ on Infectious Music / BMG Australia, their first studio set since 2019’s ‘Beneath The Eyrie’.

In addition to the recent singles, ‘Doggerel’ is full of new material which lives up to their iconic status. It’s a mature yet visceral record of gruesome folk, ballroom pop and brutal rock, haunted by the ghosts of affairs and indulgences, driven wild by cosmic forces and envisioning digital afterlives where no God has provided one. And all the while, right there on the news, another distant storm approaches.

Produced by Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood, Ghost), ‘Doggerel’ represents an evolution for Pixies, one that you wouldn’t always associate with a band deep into a storied career. Their famously off-kilter streak is still present, but it’s channeled into songs which are bigger, more orchestrated and in some aspects a little more direct. Black Francis’s lyrics have also altered, his surrealist phrasing playing upon myths, legends, pop culture and a little nostalgia.

A congregation between darkness and beauty consistently emerges throughout the record. Opener and new focus track ‘Nomatterday’ sets the tone, lurching and grinding with an ominous intensity before unfolding into a breezy, power-pop rush. The ‘50s-tinged ‘Haunted House’ is possessed by the spirit of ghosts both literal and metaphoric, while ‘The Lord Has Come Back’ will be familiar to fans who have attended Pixies’ recent shows. Later on, beguiling folk-rock melodies propel ‘Pagan Man’ and then ‘Who’s More Sorry Now?’ asks questions about recriminations while carrying elements that recall guitarist Joey Santiago’s admiration for Ennio Morricone.

Santiago recently had his first Pixies songwriting credit for ‘Dregs of the Wine’, while his second follows with the album’s title track (both alongside Francis). Loosely styled and irregular in measure, it’s a slowburning song which is ‘Doggerel’ both in name and nature.

Pixies’ official store includes album bundles, new merch and exclusive formats available HERE

‘Doggerel’ tracklist:

‘Nomatterday’
‘Vault of Heaven’
Dregs of the Wine’
‘Haunted House’
‘Get Simulated’
‘The Lord Has Come Back Today’
‘Thunder & Lightning’
‘There’s A Moon On’
‘Pagan Man’
‘Who’s More Sorry Now?’
‘You’re Such A Sadducee’
‘Doggerel’

Australia is set to be one of the first countries to hear songs from ‘Doggerel’ live with Pixies returning in 2022 for their mammoth – Come On Pilgrim… It’s Surfer Rosa tour. The tour will bear witness to both seminal albums being performed in full – plus new and old tracks spanning their extensive catalogue.

Fans had better get in quick with most shows sold out and only a handful of tickets remaining for Sydney Opera House Forecourt, Sunday 4th December and Freemantle Arts Centre, Sunday 11th December.

THE BLACK CROWES Announce Supports On SHAKE YOUR MONEY MAKER Australian Tour

THE BLACK CROWES have today announced support acts for all headline shows on their 2022 Shake Your Money Maker Australian tour.  Full Flower Moon Band will open in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, with You Am I also supporting at Melbourne’s massive Palace Foreshore event on Sunday, November 20.

Centred around the prolific songwriting skills of singer/guitarist Tim Rogers, You Am I is without doubt one of Australia’s all-time essential rock n’ roll bands, with a formidable live reputation.

With eleven studio albums under their belt, You Am I is responsible for some of this country’s standout rock records – debut album Sound as Ever featuring hallmark single Berlin Chair, the concise pop of Hi Fi Way which earned the band the first of its four consecutive Australian number one albums plus a handful of ARIA Awards, the ’60s retro concept album Hourly, Daily, and back to basics album #4 Record.  Most recently, the band released the magnificent collection, The Lives Of Others, featuring The Waterboy, a single that so effortlessly demonstrates the immense storytelling skills of Tim Rogers, the album landing at No 2 on the ARIA Album Chart.

The Black Crowes return to Australia to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 1990 breakthrough album Shake Your Money Maker, playing the album in its entirety along with other classics from across their vast catalogue.

In 1990, when journalists were lamenting the death of rock, as cheesy pop and hair metal dominated the charts, Atlanta’s Black Crowes gave the genre a swift and much needed kick in the ass with Shake Your Money Maker. Fueled by singles “Jealous Again,” “Twice As Hard,” “She Talks To Angels,” and the break-through cover of Otis Redding’s “Hard To Handle,” the band immediately took the rock world by storm, topping Rolling Stone’s “Best New American Band Readers Poll” in late 1990.

The Black Crowes went on to release eight studio and four live albums, selling in the tens of millions along the way; they sold out shows around the world; had legendary guitarist Jimmy Page join as a member; got kicked off a tour with ZZ Top for insulting the sponsor; got screwed by bad record deals; got married and divorced, fought amongst themselves and against the rest of the world. In other words, they’ve done everything a legendary rock group should do. Don’t miss The Black Crowes November 2022 headline shows!
