Rock icons, DEF LEPPARD, have extended their 70-plus US and UK tour to run riot Down Under, finally playing their landmark, longest recording in full – 1987’s seminal Hysteria LIVE!
German rock legends, special guests SCORPIONS join the tour for the first-ever multi-city tour of Australia in the band’s 50-plus-years history.
Four years in the making, Hysteria is the groundbreaking, 12-track album that saw Def Leppard overcome the adversity of drummer Rick Allen’s car crash injury and conquer the world. An enduring legacy dripping with rock anthems such as “Animal”, “Pour Some Sugar On Me”, “Hysteria”, “Armageddon It”, “Love Bites”, “Woman” and “Rocket”.
2018 also marks the 35th anniversary of Hysteria’s predecessor Pyromania, home to “Photograph”.
Igniting this epic piece of rock music history, Def Leppard will perform Hysteria in full alongside other songs from their 100-million-plus selling catalogue, kicking off with one show at Perth Arena on November 2 before heading to Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney – their first national tour since playing Melbourne and Sydney only in late 2015.
Rick “Sav” Savage says, “I’m delighted that we can bring the whole Hysteriaalbum to Australia and New Zealand later this year. From ‘Women’ to ‘Love and Affection’ plus many other faves thrown in for good measure. We can’t wait!”
SCORPIONS will join the tour as very special guests. The rock heavyweights played their debut Australian show at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre in October 2016 as part of their 50th Anniversary World Tour. Arguably Germany’s most successful rock band with massive hits “Wind of Change” and “Rock You Like A Hurricane”, these November performances will be the band’s first-ever national tour.
Tickets for all shows go on sale at 1pm (local time) on Friday, May 4.
Go behind the scenes on a backstage tour, get access to some of the best seats in the house or meet Def Leppard with a VIP Experience.

A star on the rise, Lucy Rose creates sublime music that is melodic, emotive and thought provoking. With current single ‘No Good At All’, Rose delivers a song that is “… mature, finely-honed, it’s another example of her artistry reaching fresh heights.” – Clash
Lucy Rose will land in Australia off the back of an extensive headline Worldwide Cinema Tour, which will take her through Asia, Europe, North America and the UK during September, October and November. On these dates, Lucy will perform songs from her latest album Something’s Changing (Communion Records/Caroline Australia), as well as her previous three releases.
Ben Folds’ upcoming solo Australian theatre performances will showcase the artist’s distinctive vocals, deft musicianship, witty lyricism and high-octane onstage energy, across a songbook spanning his entire career. Folds will hand over the reins to his fans halfway through his set, for a Paper Aeroplane Request set, during which audience members will be encouraged to write their song requests onto a piece of paper, to be folded into a paper plane and launched onto the stage on cue. Folds will then randomly select and perform the songs requested.
Widely regarded as one of the most distinctive singer-songwriters of the last 25-years, and with sold out Hobart, Brisbane, Canberra and Perth shows already under his belt and tickets for all remaining shows selling quickly, fans are encouraged to secure tickets while they can!

Lauded singer-songwriter and piano-pop maverick, BEN FOLDS, today announces he will return to Australia in 2018 to take in theatre dates around the country. Kicking off at Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Sunday 4th February, Folds will perform at the iconic Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on Tuesday 6th February, Canberra Theatre Centre on Wednesday 7th February, Adelaide’s Festival Theatre on Friday 9th February, Perth Festival at the Chevron Festival Gardens on Sunday 11th February and Hobart’s Theatre Royal on Tuesday 13th February, before heading to New Zealand.
Folds is widely regarded as one of the major music influencers of our generation, and certainly one of its most compelling live performers. In an enduring love affair with Australia spanning more than twenty years, including a period when Folds called Adelaide home between the years of 1999 and 2006, has expanded his dedicated fan base with each visit.
In 2018, the virtuoso will bring his two-part solo piano show to Capital Cities around the country, delivering a high-energy rock performance using the intimacy of just a piano. For the first half of the show, Folds will curate a playlist armed with a songbook spanning his entire career, likely to include hits like ‘Brick’, ‘Rockin’ The Suburbs’ and ‘One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces’.
In the concert’s second half, Folds will hand over the reins to his fans for a Paper Aeroplane Request set, during which audience members will be encouraged to write their song requests onto a piece of paper, to be folded into a paper plane and launched onto the stage on cue. Folds will then randomly select and perform the songs requested.
Throughout his career, Folds has created an enormous body of genre-bending music that includes pop albums with Ben Folds Five, multiple solo albums, and collaborative records with artists from Sara Bareilles and Regina Spektor, to William Shatner and novelist Nick Hornby. His most recent album, a blend of pop songs and his Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, soared to #1 on both the Billboard classical and classical crossover charts.
A fitting achievement considering that for over a decade, Folds has shared the stage with some of the world’s greatest symphony orchestras. In May of this year, he was appointed the first ever Artistic Advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Centre. This is in addition to membership to the Board of Directors of one of America’s most respected symphony orchestras, the Nashville Symphony.
He has appeared on US late night television staples such as Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with David Letterman, and in 2015, performed at a special Mother’s Day concert at the White House for Michelle Obama.
“Over two decades, the alt-rock troubadour has been consistently surprising, embracing the highbrow and the lowbrow, recruiting unlikely collaborators…” – The Guardian
“Ben Folds meshes the classical and pop music worlds in ways that few mainstream contemporary artists can hope to achieve…” – Paste Magazine
“One of the greatest modern song-writers…” – The Australian
Folds’ blend of distinctive vocals, deft musicianship, witty lyricism and high-octane onstage energy will be showcased in their purest and most spontaneous form in these solo performances.
For die-hard Folds fans and curious newcomers alike, there’s no better way to experience one of the most distinctive singer-songwriters of the last 25 years.
Melbourne music lovers stay tuned, a show will be announced soon!
