Polaris celebrate the release of their ARIA dominating debut album, The Mortal Coil, by hitting the road this April for their most ambitious run to date. Joining Polaris will be US metalcore titans, The Plot In You, along with fellow countrymen hotly tipped Melbourne outfit Alpha Wolf and Adelaide melodic hardcore act Ambleside!
To those in the know, Polaris had been Australia’s best kept secret on the heavy scene for quite some time, however, a Triple J feature album, #6 album debut on the ARIA charts, and a largely sold-out national tour has seen the Sydney natives quickly transform into one of Australia’s most talked about acts.
Before their headline album tour kicks off in April, Polaris will support Australian heavy music icons Parkway Drive on their 14 date “Decade Of Horizon’s” Tour as it travels around the country.

US outfit, The Plot In You, are four albums into an already-successful career, however, complacency doesn’t appear to be in their vernacular. Turning everything up to ten for their maiden release under the Fearless Records banner, the Ohio-based quartet enlisted the production services of Drew Fulk (The Amity Affliction, Crown The Empire) for DISPOSE, their most sonically satisfying effort to date. Traversing the alt-rock and metalcore genres with ease, lead cut “Feel Nothing” racked up more than a million streams within its first few months of release!
Fans of grooving (and at times, downright terrifyingly heavy) riffs won’t need an introduction to Melbourne mosh merchants, Alpha Wolf, after a string of hugely successful tours with Australian bigwigs Thy Art Is Murder and MakeThem Suffer has seen them firmly tagged as a must-see within the metal community. Their cracking first release for Greyscale Records, MONO, managed to create its own ruckus in the Aria charts during release week as well, cracking the national top 30.
Rounding out this four-headed touring monster is South Australian punk rock troupe, Ambleside, a group whose fierce commitment to the road and their DIY roots has seen them land tours with everyone from Counterparts and Hellions to Trophy Eyes and Silverstein. They may not be as traditionally heavy as their tour buddies, but Ambleside’s onstage intensity is second to none.
Tickets for “The Mortal Coil” Tour are on sale Wednesday, 10th January at 10am Local Time, don’t miss out on what is sure to be one of the wildest tours of 2018!

They also are revealing their EP release tour, which sees them heading out on a three date jaunt in Brisbane, Melbourne and Launceston that brings along fellow Deathcore crew Blind Oracle for the Brisbane and Melbourne shows.

“Mono is a brave expression of intense and real emotion at its heavy finest. Impressively done.” 10/10 Depth The Magazine

“We couldn’t be more excited for everyone to hear Mono.” says guitarist Sabian Lynch“The response we’ve received so far from the reviews and from the singles we’ve released has already been overwhelming and so much more than we could’ve imagined. We really urge all listeners to listen from start to finish, feeling as it’s the best way to take the most from Mono. This album has already opened up more possibilities for Alpha Wolf than we ever could’ve hoped for, making so many dreams a reality and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come.”

“Mono is an audio representation of utter desperation and the illogical mindset of an individual when one goes through traumatic experience. Whether it’s death, loss of love or coming to terms with mortality.” Explains Vocalist Aidan Ellaz“Mono means many things to each member. Written in times where the world is easily perceived as black and white. Mono is the emptiness you feel when you are alone in a motel on the highway and your soul is bleeding out on the floor.”
In actual fact, Gravemind have been hiding this information in plain sight for much longer, having hinted at The Deathgate since September 2016, hiding the deathgate in promo pictures, binary code in show posters and more.
Since the mystery of thedeathgate.com was uncovered, thousands of people have viewed the site in 10 days and bands such as Alpha Wolf, I Shall Devour, Blind Oracle and To The Grave all shared the mystery on their social media channels.
Gravemind are today returning to the spotlight, to prove that they’re here to push boundaries and crush expectations with their surprise sophomore EP ‘The Deathgate’. The EP will be released on Friday August 11, with first single Anaesthesia out today Friday June 30 (Pre-Orders here). Watch the epic Sci-Fi video for the first single below.

Vocalist Dylan Gillies-Parsons states, ‘This EP is about the suffering we endure, simply existing. It is an unburdening of mainstream ideals, of destructive ideologies, the insane framework that we’ve created in order to feel normal.’
Maturing from previous conceptual releases, the Deathgate certainly pushes the envelope of what a band can do as an independent extreme metal act. If the mysterious website (www.thedeathgate.com), laden with clues wasn’t already enough to garner interest, then perhaps the new sound, coupling technical riffage, crushing breakdowns and a diverse track list will do just that.
‘We wanted to do something really unexpected of a relatively new band, by creating a lot of hype behind a mysterious website, with a simple countdown and quote (the deathgate draws near). We hid clues to it being us in a multitude of ways, there were a total of 3 clues hidden within an audio track on the website, including an audio log, Morse code and a link to one of our tracks hidden within the audio wave. We want our audience to really pay attention to what we’re trying to say. We want them to know that we stress over every tiny detail of our music, so that they can fully invest into it knowing we put meaning behind everything.’
Gravemind have played mind-blowing shows in Australia with bands such as Architects, House Vs Hurricane, I Killed the Prom Queen, King Parrot, Hollow World, Iconoclast, A Night in Texas and Justice for the Damned. In 2015, they released their EP ‘The Hateful One’ – which featured guest vocals on tracks from both CJ McMahon (Thy Art is Murder) and Mark Poida (Aversions Crown).
Gravemind’s EP ‘The Deathgate’ will be released on Friday August 11. Single ‘Anaesthesia’ is available now in iTunes and Spotify and all online retailers. For more information go to gravemindofficial.com
