Currently in the midst of a totally sold-out 19 date tour across America and Canada, Australia’s cosmic crowd killer Tash Sultana has wasted no time in issuing ‘Mystik’, the first cut from her long awaited debut album due in 2018. The tune, on which Sultana plays every single instrument (including the saxophone – learned just a week before recording), comes hot on the heels of a debut US TV performance on Late Night with Seth Meyers and a coveted spot on the Lollapalooza tour.
‘Mystik’, which just had its world premiere on triple j this morning, illustrates the heady mixture of pulsing guitar, chiming vocals and deep, dubby beats that is now becoming synonymous with a Tash Sultana release and proves once more how far this Melbourne native has come since her now infamous busking days. With ‘Jungle’ just hitting platinum and her Notion EP at 70 million streams, these songs will undoubtedly light up the stage during Sultana’s hugely anticipated Australian summer run, for which Sydney and Melbourne are completely sold out! Luckily for her hometown fans, the historic date at Margaret Court Arena has just seen its final handful of tickets released, with fans given one last chance to secure their tickets to see our newest world beater in action. Tickets to her Adelaide show are selling fast.
Also appearing at these landmark shows are fellow former buskers Pierce Brothers. Forging a similar path to Sultana, this brotherly duo has garnered considerable buzz worldwide for their high energy performances and virtuosic skills. Their latest EP The Records Were Ours came in at #9 on the ARIA chart after topping the iTunes charts across the globe. Opening up will be Melbourne based free spirits Willow Beats, an uncle-niece partnership who will provide glorious, tropical rave pop.
