Sienna Skies are a five piece POST-HARDCORE act from the city of Sydney Australia. The band formed in early March 2006, the boys started out with a clear passion and mindset to create an electrifying sound they could call their own and expose it to as many ears as it was possible. Since then the band has only shown great development not only in their writing but in their performance on and off the stage, bringing together their own sounds with a concoction of melody and harsh screams.
Sienna Skies never fail to bring it all to the table each time they perform or make new music. Fans will not be disappointed with the release of the band’s 4th full-length album; A Darker Shade Of Truth which will be out December 2nd. This album could possibly be the best album we have seen from this group of Sydney boys to date.
Japan fans can catch Sienna Skies on their tour as it kicks off in Tokyo on the 14/12 for the A Darker Shade Of The Truth tour. This will see the band spend two days in Tokyo before moving onto Osaha, Nagoya and finishing in Shinjuka.
The first song on the track is called Misunderstood, the vocals jump right into it as guitars and drums start off in an incredible beat that will drag you into a pit of awesomeness both screamo and clean vocals for this track are a perfect example of what Sienna Skies are bringing. An incredible track for what is, such an awesome and strong start to this album.
Divided is the second track on this album. Guitars draw you in as they start off. Slowly and quietly bass and drums follow behind with an incredible melody. The clean vocals on his track beckon you in making you feel the message throughout this entire track. This was one of those tracks I couldn’t stop listening to. This track itself to me has to be one of the highlights on this incredible album. It is but a perfect example of the talent coming from our shores. Early November was also the release date of the first track that was released to the fans giving them the taste of the new album which left most only wanting more from the boys at Sienna Skies. The music video to come with the track was just as amazing it isn’t any wonder the fans wanted more.
The 3rd track on this album is called Where Mountain Meets Man yet another powerful track that stays strong throughout the whole song with that concoction of melody and harsh screams throughout the song drums are a very strong key point as they drag you in making you feel as though you are front row at a live gig in a wild sea of body’s. As it hits the 2-minute mark the next 20 seconds are nothing but the sweet sounds of a charming guitar and slight beat of the cymbals. Every track on this album just gets better and better it is easy to see why the fans of Sienna Skies are so excited for this album to be in their hands.
The fourth track on this album is called Quarter-life as the album continues these Sydney boys just keep bringing us heartfelt tracks full of passion that has you gasping for more. Quarter-life is one of those tracks that is sure to be a fan favourite. Vocals remain powerful and incredibly strong throughout this entire track, it almost seems impossible not to feel the passion and emotions they have put nto it.
As we reach the halfway point to one of the best albums I think I’ve heard this year, the next track on this album is called There’s No Place Like. This track has incredible lyrics being only clean vocals used the entire way through makes for a really easy listen if you’re not too much of a fan of the last couple of songs, then this is one you are sure to enjoy
The six track on this album is called Clear Eyes, Full Hearts: guitars open up for this track with a slight beat following close behind with a slight harming that follows shortly after it isn’t until the 2 min point that vocals hit it off with powerful expressing vocals for the 50 seconds before the song slowly starts to fade and come to a complete stop.
Palliative brings us back to that heavier side, we first heard on this album, being one of the shorter tracks on this album of a running time of 2.36 mins it’s a very fast pace with both screams and clean vocals used in this track it is one of those tracks that could be a favourite for some while others may not enjoy it so much. The guitar work on this track is differently a high standout the entire way.
Corporate cross with each track Sienna Skies always shine and show us something new, both clean and dirty vocals matching perfectly when they sing together throughout this track. This track just proves more to us how lucky we are to have such a talent group of musicians living in our country.
Sepulchre It is not often I am lost for words to try and put them down, but this track has me finding the right words to do this track justice rather hard. The vocals are on point the guitars out just outstanding drums are full of incredible beats if there was any track on this album I would want to see played live Sepulchre would be it. For me, this was differently one of the best on this album.
As we come to the final track on this album, Separated heart a completely different style than the rest of the tracks we have heard on this album with a charming piano, beautiful harmonizing vocals and acoustic guitar possibly a track that will tug at a few heart-strings. The clean emotional vocals for this track are by far some of the most powerful ones I’ve heard. Drawing you completely in leaving you filled with every emotion Sienna Skies want you to feel. This album is filled with every kind of surprise you could ask for giving something for all its listeners to enjoy.
Fans can catch the full album December 2nd and it is well worth the wait.
