Are you ready for Doro Pesch to chill you through to your very soul yet again? Well that she will do but when you hear Lemmy in a symphonic embrace with our angelic protagonist, your sense of awe will be completely and utterly redefined. For Doro fans there no maybe next time, there’s no ‘I can’t afford it’ and there sure as shit ain’t no ‘I’m over it all’ because this recording is absolutely essential. And to be perfectly honest, our angelic orator seizes your imagination and sing directly into your heart.
Loves Gone To Hell radio version brings a haunting serenade for our traditionally hard hitting protagonist as we are wooed into her web, helpless to withdrawal. A softer version but instrumentally as powerful as ever, luring your very being further into the recording. Loves Gone To Hell single version provides the perfect balance between vocals and instrumental delivery.
It Still Hurts will make your heart bleed for the loss of Lemmy and make your soul yearn for his return. The most aptly titled track of the century. For just a moment put to one side the beauty of this track and indulge the feeling of loss for Lem. His voice delivers all the inspiration you will need to bleed tears of sad loss. And in this instance, who better to accompany his farewell? Doro and Lemmy together in a tremendously emotional serenade, lyrically entwined in a passionate farewell. This WILL move all Lemmy fans to a tear. Just historically imperative as I have ever heard before, in fact, more so. You feel like Lemmy has returned to provide understanding to our pain and Doro takes our metaphorical hand in heartfelt understanding.
Rock Till Death (Live) will pull you back from the pain and launch you into a spirit more consistent with Lem’s wishes. You will feel like front row VIP as the delivery from Doro and Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) is raw, celebratory and as real as a live performance. Nothing too polished and produced. Just as the title promises, it’s live and killer. In the same spirit save My Soul Live will find you stage front yet again, helpless to stop the mosh. Amazing vocal and instrumental delivery, but beautifully recorded. To coin that terrible phrase of the bragging massive stereo set owner, ‘It’s like you’re there’. But true none the less.
Love Gone To Hell (Original demo version) is a tremendously interesting inclusion. Almost like a gift from Doro to us one and all. A brilliant version in itself.
Please, please look beyond your track list scepticism and enjoy what a brilliant recording this is. Perhaps it’s my longing for Lemmy causing an overabundance of enthusiasm, but I don’t think so…I love this set. Bravura Doro.
