When it comes to faultless reputations, the band everyone thinks of is The Dillinger Escape Plan. With a slew of brilliant albums behind them the titans of envelope-pushing, ground-breaking heavy music have become one of the most formidable acts on the planet.

Casper spoke with guitarist Ben Weinman about upcoming tour downunder.

New Jersey heroes The Dillinger Escape Plan have announced they will be returning to Australis this August for a run of East Coast tour dates.

The band will kick off their run of Australia dates in Melbourne on Friday, 28th August followed by shows in Sydney and Brisbane. They last toured Australia in 2014, as part of the Soundwave Festival, off the back of their latest album, One of Us is the Killer.

Anyone who has been following the band’s social media posts of late or have found themselves scrolling online for some limited edition Dillinger Escape Plan merch, will have noticed the band recently released what they dubbed “the ‘gayest’ shirt of all time by any band” as an attempt to weed out any homophobic fans they may have, and at the same time beat back claims of plagiarism.

No word yet if the shirt – which features “a Pegasus, with a cock for a horn, ejaculating a giant rainbow” – will makes its way to Australia for their upcoming tour dates.
