Nope…Not ABBA. Arrival is the brand new collection of works from none other than our Icelandic friends, The Vintage Caravan and remove your shoes before spinning it because this band WILL knock your socks right off.
I don’t know if this magnificent trio need to rock hard to stay warm but right from the outset, they will have your undivided attention. This album is introduced with ‘Last Day of Light’ and immediately the listener will hear familiar resonance of Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, and a multitude of old school classic rock all rolled into a contemporary hard rock sound worthy of praise and admiration.
Monolith changes the tempo marginally, but gives you a chance to settle in and absorb the killer guitar work, ferocious percussion and magnificent vocals delivered with apparent ease.
As the band take you for a visit to Babylon…and we are only up to track three here…you start to really appreciate what a killer sound this band have managed produced.
If you are familiar with the group already, you will be most pleased and if you are a newcomer to their sheer brilliance, YOU WILL BE CONVERTED.
The tracks all bring something fresh to the aural table but never stray far from the brilliant sound the group have established.
Eclipsed gives your neck a chance to recover and your palate to absorb something slower, but it is equally as powerful as anything prior.
The melodies within the album are tremendously captivating and more than one of the songs will bring subcutaneous feeling to the fore and produce goose bumps on the flesh as thought something inside wants to listen closer.
I have to leave it there…If you have EVER appreciated hard rock with a tremendously talented outfit at their very finest then YOU MUST, MUST , MUST have this album.
