Due for release this week is ‘It Is What It Is’, the latest album from Gold Coast based band BLUESCORP.
If you love blues served HOT with a generous peppering of fabulous funk finished in a superb jazz jus, then grab a copy and napkin up for a massive meal of brilliance, because this is THE album of 2015 for you. The fact that it is home grown will have you swaying hither and thither with enthusiastic pride.
Mother Earth begins the album in splendid fashion and genuinely has you pleading along with the band for nature’s mercy in a brilliant ode to contemporary environmental issues, sans political motivation. Tremendous emotion emanates from the guitar solos in classic fashion bringing masters Muddy Waters and BB King to mind magnificently.
The classic and timeless sound of Barefoot Blues will have you up of the porch rocking chair as the palate is cleared for further rhythmic writhing. Beautiful performances from all the members’ instruments are clearly audible and so very crisp in this fantastic recording.
Up and Left will have something special for every listener as resounding memories of issues typical of loves lost ring true for us all in one way or another. And if you were taken for a ride in said misadventure, Woe is Me will have you comfortable in the camaraderie that you are by no means alone.
Sincerely Blue is beautifully placed on this album in a master stroke of production, bringing back to the fore that BluesCorp are not only master of the genre, but pioneers of a whole new diverse blending of sounds.
Superb album of emotive elicitation is a term I would choose to describe this sensational collection of beautiful works, and I’m sure I will not stand alone.
